Need help deleting albums from Gallery!!! - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

So I have a few weird albums in my Gallery app. I have one that says Mike-PC and has nothing in it. I also have a directv2pc album that popped up after I downloaded the Directv app. I have deleted the Directv app and it's still there. I also went into the applications-gallery and cleared cache but those two folders are still there.
If I turn my Wifi off they disappear though, weird!!!
Any suggestions on how to get rid of them?? It's driving me friggin nuts!!!
Thanks

The computer you have called Mike-pc is set up to share files over a network like a media server. Under the network connection setting on that pc you need to turn this off. (I have a computer set up to do this) The phone and pc are connected via your home network that is why when you turn WiFi off the album is gone.
As for the one associated with the app I'm am not sure because I don't have it. I would assume there is possibly some setting you can change. Otherwise I'm not sure.

the directv2pc is also a media server that is being broadcast by your Directv DVR which is also connected to your home network. Both are network devices that your phone sees on your home wireless network

Thanks for the responses. Ill look on my PC to change those settings. I did look on my directv settings and didn't see anything.
Its not a huge deal but just annoying when I look at pics.
I've never had this happen with any other of my phones which is why it stumped me.

New Infuse 4G

just switched from HTC inspire to the infuse. I rooted my infuse the very first day. My problem is that it will not auto connect to remembered wifi specially my home wifi. I have to restart the phone all the time. Another problem is that my yahoo email doesnt sync right away with my phone. Last one I got was at 11:37PM and i had a few that came in overnight. Unlike my inspire once the email was rcvd it will also sync with my inspire
any suggestions?
Thanks
I just switch off the wifi and turn it back on..... No need to restart the phone i guess... Yes, not all times it connects automatically...

You are using the included client called "Email" ?
while the program is open, try clicking the menu button, then choose "account settings" and check out "check email frequency" and "email notifications"
Wifi: Have you played around with going to Settings: "wireless and network" / "wifi settings"
This is a common bug found on the Infuse. Everyone I've talked to has the same problem. Once the Wifi connection has been established, it won't be able to connect to another router. What you can do to solve the problem is to turn the wifi on and then turn it back on. This way, you can turn the wifi off when you're not using the phone and it'll save you battery too. Hope that helps!
What you need to do is hard reset your phones

That's horrible advice, when turning off wifi and turning it back on is more than sufficient.
It seems to be a fundamental power management problem with our wifi chipset that seems to affect EVERY device I've used with said chipset. My Galaxy Tab 10.1 has the same problem.
Screw Broadcom. I hate them.

Try "forgetting" your home connection and then connect to it again.
I only experienced that problem once and found that it was actually my router not my phone.

I tried that and I still have to refresh everytime I open my email. Do they have any widget just like the HTC inspire email client?
Is there a way to stream netflix and play it on your tv?

The native email app is horrible. I had the same issues and installed Kaiten mail. Its worked flawlessly for my yahoo and gmail accts.
To stream netflix, just use your hdmi adapter. then set your usb settings to media player. It will streams just fine. I do this all the time and it works great.

LOL. I went to At&T earlier and the guy told me that my LED indicators are not working so he told me to call Amazon. I called Amazon and they sent me a new one.
I'm just reading the manual now and it is not a LED indicator its actually a proximity sensor lol.
Is there any way to change the primary shortcut contents?

Need help for a friend - Touchpad e-mail issue

Hi,
I have a friend that has the touchpad and she set up a few e-mails on it. When she switches between wireless networks (like home to work, etc) e-mail will no longer sync unless she completely reboots the tablet. We've tried throwing away the e-mail app (whatever that is where you slide the app up to close it) and we tried putting it into airplane mode and back and nothing seems to work. Any ideas? Fixes?

Do you mean the stock email app? (not that I have used any other!)
I have several accounts set up in mine and they work flawlessly so far.
You mention restarting the tablet, did you try just a Luna restart?
Is there a difference between the networks? Is one open and the other WPA2 or something?
I have seen something similar when going from one network to another, where the wifi has to be switched off and on to flush the settings for the network.

MMS Images Will Not Send

Hi all, I have a recurring issue with sending MMS images with the stock messaging app on my G2x running CM7 stable. Sometimes, but not every time, when I hit send, the gray notifier box shows up, saying "Currently unable to send your message. It will be sent when the service becomes available." This has happened even when I have service. Regardless, the box persists. Even when I can clearly see that I have bars, the box simply won't go away. The message refuses to send, and usually I can't even delete it. No matter what I do, the box stays, so I have to reboot every time I have this problem. Any ideas? I've done a good bit of searching and haven't yet found anyone with the same problem. Help would be greatly appreciated!

I occasionally have the same problem and the only thing I've found that helps are multiple hard reboots. Eventually the mms image will send and all will be well untill the next time it happens again...then more hard reboots.
I have a similar issue on CM7, try turning airplane mode on then off and then sending. Also, I use Handcent, not stock mms.apk.

I recommend backing up your apps with titaniumbackup and do a full wipe, cache wipe, dalvik cache wipe and flash the newest nightly version of cm7

Sometimes for similar issues, deleting telephony.db in something like data/providers/??telephony had helped me in the past. (And reboot)

I find that this problem persists even when I'm not using the stock mms.apk...for example, I've also used go sms pro and still have the same result which requires a reboot
Hmm, if you have tried airplane mode, I don't know what to say. For me, it seems to be connected with hitting areas of no reception. I may have a perfect connection, but something thinks I don't. What I mean is, for example I will launch Browser, say from Xda, and browser will give me a message telling me I have no connection (when I do) but still function. I think what ever causes browser to 'think' I have no connection is related to the mms issue. It's also apparent in an app called Clock Sync (which I use to keep my phone on a stable time, versus assuming the network will provide accurate time) and this app won't pull up the info from the time server and allow me to synch.

I don't know who your carrier is, but if your apn is split into two parts, one for accessing the internet and one for sending mms, then try this fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1484489, I posted it a while back and mms works perfectly for me, of course the only downside is that you have to manually switch apns depending on what you want to use your data for.
Good luck
I get that error message here and there... I learned to live with it... What you should do is after sending mms and that message appears; long hold that picture you're trying to send and select edit; this will bring that picture back to your text box... From there, like everyone said, airplane mode off then on... Then try sending it again... If that fails... Go to setting, applications, development and select long hold back button to kill app... So when that message appears and you want to get rid of it... Long hold back and it will kill that mms process...

[Q] Can you change the host name of our phone?

Was randomly looking at connections to my home router and noticed that my phone shows up as 'android-70d76ab'. Is there a way to change the name of our phone, much like changing the name of a PC or laptop?
Thanks

Yes you can. In some ROMs, you can simply change it under settings. If you're using a WiFi Hotspot, in that app itself, I think you're able to change it.
Sorry, I should've been clearer on what I was on. Any way to change it on a rooted stock TouchWiz Jelly Bean rom? Perhaps someone knows of a mod.
Can't you just rename it through you wireless network on your home PC. For example I have a net gear router and it has a genie application on my home PC where I can see what is connected to my Wi-Fi and I can rename things like ps3, my gs3, wife's thunderbolt, ect.....
It's been a while since I've been on stock TW, but I think the setting is the same as it is in CM10.
Go into System settings, development, and and make sure that development is enabled. In that section should be a setting called host name. You should be able to change it there.

Newbie and I swear I'm hacked

I have had this phone fur a year and I know I'm hacked. Apps open by themselves and I always have high data usage. I took a few screen shots that I thought might be helpful? Haha please help!!!!
I highly doubt you're hacked. I see you have the Facebook app installed; that's known to drain your battery. Have you gone into its settings to make sure it's not set to auto-refresh at high intervals? I think the default is every 15 minutes. What about Google+? Is it set to automatically upload your photos and videos? And finally, I see you're on Sprint, which has LTE almost nowhere. Is your LTE set to on?
Bro.. why not try a full wipe 'coz if your phone is infected your privacy is exposed lol
Facebook app is installed yet auto sync is disabled. I keep having apps download on their own yet I disabled auto update. Not to mention my location services are jacked up

Are you using Google Now? That's known to destroy battery life by at least 30% (its been tested). Turn that off. It keeps your location services running 24/7.
Worst case, I'm not sure if your device is rooted or not (it doesn't matter), but try and wipe it and "start over" if you can. Make sure your contacts are synced with Google, and if your photos are on your internal storage, move them to your computer or your SD card. Then go into Settings -> Security -> Factory Reset.

It looks like logcat is logging signal strenght of your 3g, and your mail app is checking for new mails.
It might be your voicemail app... Unless you changed the icon that isn't stock TW. But yeah definitely just do a factory reset or Odin back to stock...
