Thank_you !!!
Was begining to think I had bought a BIG DUD, Thanks to this post, I am thrilled with this little tablet,
about the only thing missing was Google Play, after following a series of dead ends on other forums,
XDA rocks, and is now my home for all things AndyRoid, Home Sweet Home, Priceless

For all those who have got a Zeki 7 inch tablet who found out it does not come with google apps like Google play, Google Maps, and gmail.
Now to start off your zeki comes fully rooted, so no need to install superuser or any of that stuff.
1st: you need to have a micro sd card to do this process.
2nd: Use your PC to download the update.zip file.
3rd: Put the update.zip file on the micro sd card. (put the card in to your tablet) make sure zip is on root not in any folders
4th: go in to settings, go all the way down to About tablet and click that, now you will see systemUpdate
5th click check now. It will ask if you want to update and it will auto find the update file. just click yes
6th the system will boot to recovery mode and flash the update, once done it will reboot Android 4.0.3 and you have you Gapps
Now it can take up to 10 minute for Market place to update to the google play store. You can start upgrading your apps and downloading the goodies you want.

Does the device have to be rooted? Hope not...

Does this install google talk? If not does anybody know how?

Why don't you get the latest gapps at http://goo.im/gapps, rename it to update.zip and install that? Then you'll have all the latest gapps, updated as well

After flashing Gapps you can install google voice from the play store.
If it is not in the google store it is not compatible.

I have Google voice but not talk on zeki. I use tango to video chat or call. I looked and did not see Google talk in the list. It may not be compatible. Not saying you can install apk.
Just because it is 4.0 doesn't mean tablet can support all apps

Since I haven't been able to get google talk to work I have been trying other programs. I tried oovoo but their was a screen rotation issue, it kept making me appear sideways. Then I tried skype and it works but I despise skype and I would much rather use google talk. At least I know I can try tango and see if its better than skype, I'm still hoping for google talk though.
Do you have netflix on your zeki? I tried installing it from the play store and when I tried opening it would just go black then go back to the zeki homescreen. I was able to get a hacked version of netflix on there but I was just curious if anybody else had the same issue.

If you've got root access, you could use MarketEnabler. Google it.
There's also a complicated and difficult DIY method:
1. Open Google in a web browser.
2. Type "google music apk download" in the search bar
3. Follow the links from the top down, until you find the file you're looking for.
4. ????
5. Profit

Not Working:
Faceunlock

Music
Talk back
It looks like a lot of other services are tied into the new function (like the new voice search) and might not work with the ICS API level.

Hey just wanted to know since we typically update apps when it shows on playstore would there be any issues for getting updates using this unreleased ver? especially our purchased apps? & also when it would be released as an update officially? Any way to revert back without any side effects just in case?

There won't be any issues with updating the app. ( I'm not sure about paid apps, but they should be fine too I guess) They are rolling it out at some places, it will be available to everyone soon.
And follow what altered said to remove it.
After latest update/flash to PA3.15 I got the new market after a couple reboots.

new play store is great, at first i hated the white UI so decided to find an inverted one and it looks way better than original app , some screenshots below
btw haven't had any problems with payed apps

If you don't want to have to deal with downloading this and installing the apk, you can get it to update on its own by going to manage apps then play store services, and then clearing the data. After you have done that, open up the play store and it will have updated on its own.
Anyone have a link to download the inverted version?

I found one, but for some reason it just FCs on my phone. Its a CWM flashable zip.
Try if it works for you. http://db.tt/dMlJzMzX
Or just google for it. There are many sites offering it.
you need to unnistall play store's updates, then go and delete any play store files from within /data/app folder then place downloaded Phonesky.apk inside system/app folder if prompt say yes on replace file , if not , delete vending.apk ,set permissions , reboot and enjoy , just disable all internet connections during that process
Edit : found it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1231787
Edit2: follow my directions flashable zip doesn't work for us, extract phonesky.apk from zip file

I've searched here and on Google directly but I can't find an actual working method / apk to install Google Talk.
Hangouts doesn't work for me as I can't stand not being able to see my chat friends that are currently online.
Have successfully removed Hangouts using TB.
Anyone else switch back to Talk?
( note: I am able to install a downloaded Talk APK, but it doesn't work and just spins while attempting to login )
