Forced 2 finger Scrolling 4.0 - Android General

hi
I have a question.
Im almost blind so i cant see my phone very much.
Therefore Its important for me with good accessability.
I found a strange bug with my
Htc one x phone running android 4.0
When I turn on TalkBack and I want to read my sms
I also enable explore by touch (because the sms are only read if explore by
touch is enabled too) and then I can not get it to scrool normally like with
1 finger like it normally will do.
Is there a way to change this so I can scroll
with 1 finger like normal ?
Im on a unrooted device but I would gladly have it rooted
if that would help out.
Regards

Touch Experience

Hi there - it seems that my Rapha doesn`t function as touch device but only ref. the area which under the screen ....
Is there any menu whic I mast install or ?
I already have installed charps tweaks....
THANK you
myrin
Try a Hard reset, if you still have no touch screen then it's a hardware problem, send it back. How much have you been messing with touch pro? It is possible to stop screen from working but it's unlikely, more a hardware problem if you ask me.
John generally I do havethe touch experience but not with all software - I do have it with MS software !
What I don`t see either is the issue that for example contacts will be changed if the rapha is move from on side to the other. How can this be done ?
I can play Teeter ad there I see that throug moving the device you can direct it but !!! why is this not working in contacts or e-mails ?

Click to collapse
I think this is not able with all applications on the Touch Pro. Only specific programs like HTC Album, Opera and Teeter use the accelerometer and rotate the screen when you rotate the device. I do not know if some external program will turn every screen when you turn over the device. It is not an out-of-the box function.
EDIT: I've been doing some searching and found a program called Gsen, you can download it from http://s-k-tools.com/freeware. This program can rotate every screen and you can also exclude programs not to be rotated by GSEN. I've tried it a little bit and it looks nice. Dunno if it is a keeper yet
You can find an application called Gsen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=411419) which is supposed to rotate most of the screens on HTC.
However, this was originally designed for HTC Diamond. I tested it on Touch Pro but it wasn't very useful. The screen rotated very slowly and only on some screens.
I think it should be rewritten for Touch Pro....
OK that works - the pics in album change from portrait to landscape but they do not change from one to the next is this normal ?
How did you solve he light problem when a call comes in ?
And - my Rapha can only be switched on via the main switch - is that changeable ?

[q] android notifications bar

I am having problems with the swipe down Notification bar on my Desire HD. I would have posted it in there, but this is a general problem, as I have seen it on several android phones in other forums. However, the ones I have seen are all HTC. Whether this is a manufacturer related issue I do not know.
Put quite simply; it won't slide down in portrait. But when I switch to landscape it works perfectly fine.
One of the suggestions was to use Draw Pad and see if there were any deadspots on the touchscreen. So I go nuts, and find a bar about half an inch on the top of the screen that isn't responding, unless I flick upwards quite quickly. But it's not a deadspot, as when I'm using that part of the phone in landscape it works perfectly. I can also swipe down in landscape from the corner (top right) perfect as well. So I would say it can't be the hardware.
The last time the notification bar worked was when I was in Tweetdeck, and swiped like mad through a load of tweets to class them as 'Read'. I've since uninstalled Tweetdeck, restarted my phone (both by using Restart and by removing the battery), and returned the phone to Factory Settings, but nothing works.
I understand that I can install a ROM as a last resort, but I am pretty sure that there must be an app that can reset the touchscreen calibration or something similar, to reset the dimensions of the screen when it's in portrait, or a hidden setting that can reset it. My phone isn't rooted, so I would much rather fix the problem, rather than overwrite it to save the extra work when I wouldn't really appreciate a rooted phone with a custom ROM.
I am running Android 2.3.3 with HTC Sense 2.1. My Kernel Version is 2.6.35.10-gd2564fb | htc-kernel(at symbol)and18-2 #1. The build number is 2.50.405.2 CL87995 release-keys.
(The (at symbol) is because I am new and outside links are forbidden for new users)
My phone isn't rooted, however I am not averse to doing so if it helps solve the problem. I have minimal experience with the Terminal, however, so if it is required, I could do with instructions rather than 'do X and Y'.
Thanks, and sorry for the wall of text.

Virtuous Inquisition v4.0.0 G-sensor calibration

Anyboby know if is possible the G SENSOR calibration??
I can't find how to do.
Thanks
I was looking for it also, it's missing. Should be under "settings" > "display" I left the following post on the Virtuous Inquisition page.
Feedback: g-sensor calibration is missing in settings -> display. The screen does not rotate smoothly or is not sensitive enough. You really have to get the phone 100% vertical for the screen to rotate. Also, the touch screen needs a calibration - does not activate the spot you touch accurately enough. Especially in text fields such as this when you try to put the cursor in the middle of a word to edit, it never goes to the letter you touch even after several tries. I'll have to delete the entire word and type it again. What else... while browsing and in some apps when you click on a button or link sometimes it won't activate - happens periodically throughout the week, camera doesn't seem too great, especially auto focus. Great having stock Android 4.0 on the HTC Sensation otherwise since HTC Sense is poorly designed/laidout and has bad aesthetics. Sweet ROM. I hope the developers keep interest in it. Cheers!
I think, is a great rom, I use in my day to day and am happy with it.
My question is because I use a bubble level to see if a telescope mount is fully align and use the mobile for that mission.
I can't find it, and not see any way to calibrate the G-sensor, I can't use the mobile for this purpose.
And my question is there, but no one seems to know one way to make the calibration, the calibration is not fully mobile at this time, when compared with conventional bubble level that I have.
I hope to find some way to calibrate it, for now I will continue with the conventional bubble level.
Thanks for your reply uphusgm.
Be patient... and enjoy your sensation.

[Q] Pocket mode etc. from HTC Sense on other phones.

Hello guys, Im sorry if this thread is already here somewhere but I didnt manage to find any info about this one.
Basically I've just bought a new phone (Xperia SP) and one of the very few things I actually dont like or miss here is the HTC Sense settings features when it comes to incoming/outcoming calls and their controlling just by moving the phone around. I was very used to that and loved it with my good old HTC Desire, may it rest in piece.
I havent managed to find any app for that on market, which could be aswell caused by the fact that English is not my native language and I dont really know which keywords should I use to find such app.
In case u know some apps that can do such things Id like just to point out the main functions that Id like to get on my Xperia:
- first of all Id like my display to lock temporarily as soon as I reach my ear with the phone when I pick up a call, to prevent unintended actionc caused by my troll ear.
- the feature that lowered ringtone's volume to minimum when u picked the phone from a table or just turned it upside-down.
- and finally the feature that allowed u to quickly turn on loudspeaker just by turning the phone upside-down after answering the call.
- +the pocket mode would be nice as well but I can live without that one.
Thank you in advance for any app-tips <3

Why slide to the right to unlock?

I'm kinda old fashioned but I still use an HTC Desire with the original ROM (and living and suffering with its issues) and couldn't move myself to flash it with a custom ROM, because they all seem not to fit my needs. It may sound weird, but here is my thinking about the Android UI development:
Back than, when I bought my Desire it was the best Device of its class out there. The Sense UI was way better than the native Android (which was really ugly) and very comfortable. Since then Android developed to Holo, Sense made several big and weird changes up to the latest one on the M8 and TouchWiz I never liked; and I still think the old Desire Sense UI is one of the best out there. The main reasons for that seem a bit ridiculous but are a major usability issue for me:
Unlock with a slide to the bottom
While receiving a call, slide to the bottom to accept, slide to the top to decline
Two separate lock screens, one as keyboard lock and one as security lock (with password or pattern) that only activates after a set amount of time (not like the Samsung devices where you have to enter your pattern EVERY time you turned off your display)
Why on new devices it is common that I have to slide to the side to unlock? Sliding to the bottom is the most comfortable movement you can do with your thumb without any danger to let your phone slip and hit the ground. So why it is so absolutely uncommon? And why on native Android you can't move the unlock option to the bottom, where is plenty of space and would also give you the opportunity for a fifth quick access app? In my point of view it would increase usability a lot.
While receiving a call on new phones you have to press a virtual button, but why? With old phones you could feel the right button to accept or decline a call, but with touchscreens you have to look at it first and then touch precisely. But there is no need for that. Even the pressing and sliding the green or red circles is based on hitting the screen on a special area, which is kinda unpleasant for me. With the old Sense you only have to roughly slide up or down from around the middle of the screen, so declining a call without taking the phone out of your pocket works like a charm.
At last the lock screen. I always had to decide between the normal keyboard lock and a pattern (password was never an option) but never get it to work with having the pros of both. I understand that some may find it stupid to have two lock screens, but for me they have different functions and so they work very well together in my workflow. On Cyanogenmod I found an option that seems to give me what I want, but it never worked like my Desire.
Yeah, even when I still use my Desire I have used other phones too (in parallel for work) and I really always missed the listed options of the old Sense UI and hated the strange design decisions made since then. But am I the only one who thinks about that in that particular way or is it me who is too picky? Is there no one else out there thinking the Desire Sense UI was outstanding at that time and still is today? Or is there an app for that I haven't found yet?
Just my two cents.
