I HATE MTP.......HATE IT
So i'm wondering if its possible to use USB mass storage with out having an SD card. I want to partition my internal storage so its not apart of the phones storage. Thus giving it the possibility of UMS access and not the fail MTP is.
Can any one comment on if this is even possible?

The stock Nexus S mounts internal memory to /mnt/sdcard.
While it's connected as USB mass storage, applications can not write to this destination (obviously), basically can't write anywhere as this is the only read-write storage.
I'm looking for a way to write to the destination even if it's mounted as USB mass storage.
Is it possible when rooted?
Thanks.
It would appear that the Jelly Bean update to the RMHD has removed the option to mount the SD Card (or internal storage) as a Mass Storage device on a windows computer. Only options seem to be a Media Device (MTP) or Camera (PTP).
Problem is that file manipulation with MTP seems to be lacking ... in that I can't copy all 1044 files from a folder on my RMHD to a folder on my computer; the copying fails at 533; never had any failures with ICS in this regard when mounted as a mass storage device (though I did have similar failures with MTP on ICS). USB debugging is active.
Is there a Jelly Bean work-around that'll allow me to mount my Internal and/or external storage as a mass storage device on my windows based computer???
Thanks, in advance, for your assistance!
Not that I know of yet. :/ Isn't it a pain in the ass??
Mount SD Card
Is it possible to mount SD card in JB to move there apps?
It is strange because App2SD show there is no SD Card,
but Total Commander can work on SD Card.
Any advices?

I can't even get DirectoryBind working, the Virtual SD card seems to operate at a lower level than DirectoryBind

UMS probably will not work on the A700 as the internal SD card is actually a directory on the /data partition.
From what I understand UMS works by unmounting the internal storage partition and making it available over USB.
As the A700 does not use a actual partition for internal storage it can not unmount it.
This is why the A700 and other devices with a shared /data<>internal storage partitions all came using MTP.
I don't know which one is UMS, because I wanna delete all this junk in UMS and I feel like if it's internal, it'll mess it up.

External. USB Mass Storage (UMS) is just going to show you what is on your sdcard when you plug it into your computer. There is only 512MB of internal storage on the SGS4G, and mostly used for data/cache/system, and so... not shown when UMS is connected.
Galaxy S 4G (SGH-T959V) does not have an internal sd/mmc storage. Just OneNAND-flex (flash storage).
I have enabled adoptable storage on smartphone with root essentials app, but now I cannot flash in TWRP 3.2.1-0, ZIP files are not displayed in explorer.
I appreciate any help!
Once external SD-card got converted to Adoptable Storage it became ( encrypted ) part of phone's internal storage memory, means it is no longer accessible as external storage memory.

It is not possible to flash, not even via the ADB option, this problem started after I made the adoptable storage. Is it possible to reverse the process without erasing the smartphone data?
