[Q] How to access /mnt/sdcard or /mnt/ while mounted as USB mass torage - General Questions and Answers

The stock Nexus S mounts internal memory to /mnt/sdcard.
While it's connected as USB mass storage, applications can not write to this destination (obviously), basically can't write anywhere as this is the only read-write storage.
I'm looking for a way to write to the destination even if it's mounted as USB mass storage.
Is it possible when rooted?
Thanks.

Partition internal storage for UMS access?

I HATE MTP.......HATE IT
So i'm wondering if its possible to use USB mass storage with out having an SD card. I want to partition my internal storage so its not apart of the phones storage. Thus giving it the possibility of UMS access and not the fail MTP is.
Can any one comment on if this is even possible?

Mounting SD card @ Mass Storage in JB

It would appear that the Jelly Bean update to the RMHD has removed the option to mount the SD Card (or internal storage) as a Mass Storage device on a windows computer. Only options seem to be a Media Device (MTP) or Camera (PTP).
Problem is that file manipulation with MTP seems to be lacking ... in that I can't copy all 1044 files from a folder on my RMHD to a folder on my computer; the copying fails at 533; never had any failures with ICS in this regard when mounted as a mass storage device (though I did have similar failures with MTP on ICS). USB debugging is active.
Is there a Jelly Bean work-around that'll allow me to mount my Internal and/or external storage as a mass storage device on my windows based computer???
Thanks, in advance, for your assistance!
Not that I know of yet. :/ Isn't it a pain in the ass??
Mount SD Card
Is it possible to mount SD card in JB to move there apps?
It is strange because App2SD show there is no SD Card,
but Total Commander can work on SD Card.
Any advices?

I can't even get DirectoryBind working, the Virtual SD card seems to operate at a lower level than DirectoryBind

How to record 4k with stock CM11s camera on external usb?

Of course it's not possible directly and I know it. But most weird thing, that I can't use mount -o bind to mount my DCIM folder to external usb. If I do this, when I enter my DCIM folder in file manager, I can see files from external usb storage. So to test, I started movie recording, then stopped, unmounted my external usb and then what? I noticed that my movie was saved in internal phone memory, not usb storage.
I also tried to manually unmount mounted usb storage (with umount command in terminal). Then I mounted in on my DCIM folder manually (using mount command). Result was similar - no movie saved on external usb, it was saved in internal phone memory instead.
What the hell? Do you have any ideas? Really, 4k dci movies are so huge so I want they to be saved on external usb.Unfortunately I can't use any other camera app because only stock CM 11s camera is able to record 4k. Also I can't simply do ln -s because internal memory and external usb are both vfat (actually I can format my external storage to ext4, but still internal memory is vfat).
So what to do?
Bump.... anybody?

[Zp980+MTK]Partitioning internal storage and phone memory - Set default write storage

Hi all, I've partitioned my Zp980+ following this: forum.zopomobileshop.com/thread-1412-1-1.html
Now I've already two partitions:
1) Internal Storage (13.28Gb)
2) Phone Memory (189Mb)
I would to set as default write storage the first (mounted on /data) and mount it as mass storage by usb cable, can I?
I tried to see on /fstab* but I've not found anything that interested this topic.
