At&t announces update "in the coming weeks" for the One X - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I haven't seen a thread on this, so I thought I'd post it. At&t confirms an update coming soon for the One X. Maybe the 4.04 update? Then hopefully source for the new firmware shortly thereafter!

Pretty sure it's 4.0.4 since we had that leak 2.09 and the new 4.0.4 is also a 2.x.

Not that long ago we heard that the AT&T HOX would be getting JB soon. No reason to release this update then proceed to make us wait for JB.

"Enhance performance" and upgrade to JB don't seem to be the same thing to me. I'd be happy to see a little more tweaking on the wifi radio, and goodness, fix the mess that is multi-tasking. I was thinking they might slide those tweaks into the JB build just to obfuscate the fact that there was such a problem to begin with.
Thanks for the heads up!

Don't get excited that multitasking will be better on the HOX. It said the Inspire will get Task Manager which sounds cool but when people say enhanced performance its gonna be better wifi and faster app swaping. Should be slight improvement to our multitasking hopefully.

Anyone using the latest att leak 1.85?

The leak is 1.85 changelog?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
It supposedly breaks root, so I'd hold off for.now if you care about toot.
Sent while in DEFCON Brown.
no root yet for the public, root is being fine tuned, will be release in a day or so. I'm on 1.85 and rooted. phone seems snappier and a lot of people are claiming better radio (data speeds, calls, etc) cant comment on that i havent used it that much. if you read the thread in development section it cover a lot of what people have found.
with this leak i assume the official update isn't too far off?
i'd install the one already floating around but i'd rather wait for AT&T to release it officially.
i'm using the 1.85 leak and it's rooted and working fine on my bootloader-unlocked device.
I haven't even gotten the 1.82 OTA...wtf?

Can you describe how it's "fixed"?
2 days with 1.85.
wifi seems better but still not good as my iphone 4.
not that snappy as 1.82 or 1.7. little laggier..
I've been contemplating going back to 1.82. Multitasking is better in 1.85 but I poorer wifi. And Tom toolbox helps with multitasking in 1.82.
My opinion. But 1.85 does give better radio .... Wait no ... Wait yes... I fluctuate a bar

Quicker than AT&T. Thats for sure.
My understanding is that 4.1 should be released within the next few weeks for our phone. I've been looking for it myself as my buddy has a nexus and 4.1 looks really sweet. All the articles and such I've read say late oct/early nov.
Can't wait, personally.

I have a Nexus as one of my devices and 4.1 is pretty damn nice, but we'll get Jellybean with a new version of Sense. I had Touchwiz JB on my GS3 and it still wasn't as great as my ICS One X, feature wise.
All the articles I"ve read have said just before Christmas for At&t for the One X jelly bean update. I would love to see it in early November but the reality of it is that AT&T is horrible at releasing updates quickly so I'm not getting too excited. But if rogers updates earlier than AT&T we will all be able to enjoy it thanks to the Dev's here

Jelly Bean starting to roll out for the HTC One X!

It's starting in Europe and Asia, though there's a guy in the article comments who claims he's installing a new update on T-Mobile in Michigan:
http://www.theverge.com/2012/10/28/3565358/htx-one-x-jelly-bean-asia-europe
I'm hoping this might lead to more progress on the HTC One XL.
This is for the One X Tegra not the One XL, Still no word on the XL
Thanks for the clarification, XsMagical.
BTW, the commenter just clarified that the T-Mobile update was a false alarm:
"False alarm
It was weird. It downloaded a new system update, rebooted 7-8 times, and when it came back on it was still 4.0.4/Sense 4.1. Also, it had a restart error that I sent to HTC. I wonder if when I did that last update a month ago it never set in right? I used to run CM10 so maybe something is messed up?
I was so excited I got out of bed, oh well, I’ll blame Sandy."
I have a stock One XL awaiting the JB update and ive been checking a lot. Not ATT model.

I read this on a google news search might be BS but I'd love it. And most phones usually get at the most one or two updates small or big doesn't matter too the companies, seeing as how they would want there customers to upgrade their phones in the name of making more money.

Its a tough call for me. Nexus devices are supported pretty darn well. I mean, nexus s got jellybean and it can barely run it. (read run it smoothly for longer than two weeks)
But on the other hand, I tried a phone with no sense available, and I realized how much I liked sense (even though I'm only on it like half the time)
But my point is, sense is the slickest, most coherent ui overlay, and that has got to take time to do properly. Yeah, yeah, they drag their heels so we upgrade...but in all fairness, I do think they put a lot of work into it.
I think in the end I've decided that a stable version of sense is worth two of aosp. That's just my personal opinion.
After a decent aosp jellybean was released for desire z, I found myself still running gb sense 2.1. It was just a great OS that was hard to fault.

ATT is run by an arrogant ahole who only cares about the stock price(Randall Stevenson I'm calling you out). Why actually spend money on getting us JB when he can continue to line his pockets. "Eat the rich, its the only thing that they are good for"-Aerosmith
Couldn't be truer. Do nothing paper pushing thieves. He cost att billions in the failed tmo merger and got a 20+ million bonus and then they re-elected him. Ponderous to say the least. If anyone of us cost their company billions, we would be fired and probably brought up on charges.
