Can't succed on flashing the newest radio - HTC One S

I everyone, hope that I post my question in the good part of the forum!
I tried to follow the instructions on that thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1684477 in order to flash the newest radio.
Currently my radio is 0.17.31501S.10_2_10.27.31501S.10L but I'd like to flash the 0.16.31501S.17_2_10.23.31501S.10L one. I both tried with CWM and TWRP and the radio's flash process seems to be done correctly in the recovery (no errors) but when I go to settings>about phone it's still the old one...
I can't find what I'm doing wrong... I'm on Coldblooded CM10 rom (JB) and my hboot is 1.13
Hope you'll be able to answer my question!
:fingers-crossed:
Thx in advance.

From all reports around here, hboot 1.13 doesn't allow flashing the new radio separatly.
I am on the same hboot and can't flash it.
If you are desperate, go the superCID way.

So there is no solutions yet to upgrade our hboot?

I suppose you meant downgrade? upgrading hboot is possible via RUU or OTA which will also upgrade your radio.
Staying at an older hboot is preferred because you could access exploits like upgrading radio only.

in the dev-section football upload the RUU of 4.0.4 that update everything, radio and hboot. i tried yesterday and everything goes fine...now i've not no more the signal problem!

Ok so now I have a dilemma :
- Should I stay on my older Hboot 1.13
- Should I upgrade it to a new one to have the newest radio
...
The question is more like : Is the newest radio is really better than the one i currently have?
If some people have upgraded theirs can give some usefull answers.
NB : I'm on CM10 ROM now! (which is a very great rom except for the camera pb but I'm confident, the devs will find a solution!)

1.13 hboot does not differ much from 1.14.. but the newest radio did really a great job on solving the signal issue.

the new radio is awesome .

yup, hboot 1.13 and 1.14 are pretty much the same..i suggest you go get the new RUU..remember to supercid first, try to install it on HTC__001 but it failed..supercid does the trick

[Q] Upgrading from 2.3.4

A while back I flashed a rom onto my HTC sensation.
Current Specs:
Android Version- 2.3.4
HTC Sense Version- 3.0
Software Number- Pyramid3Dv8.21 xe
Yet, With all these new releases and roms, I have no idea where to start :/
Currently scared to do anything since I'm afraid to brick my phone.
I'm sorry if this has or been answered somewhere else.
But, Could someone lead me into the right path to upgrading to the new Firmware + what I need to install for the new 3.0.0+ roms?
I will really appreciate it.
Thank you for reading this.
First you require some basic one time steps that you need to do
This is the guide to do those
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
Follow the steps carefully.... Also you can do soff if your hboot is <= 1.18 hboot
Chk the guide for steps to see your hboot
Then for installing ICS roms

try ORdroid (OR) ARHD Roms they r awesome.....
thanks for shinz.& mike for there awesome work
I understand about the new stuff in a way
But, What do I do since i'm not updated yet?
Install stock firmware and update regularly then redo the Process?
or is there someway I can Just update without having to redo S-OFF
I believe you can simply flash the 3.32 firmware and then update to the new ICS ROMs. No need to S-OFF again since you're running the older hboot version (that is, I'm assuming you're still running hboot 1.18 or lower since you haven't updated your phone in a while and you're already rooted and stuff).
The second link that ganeshp posted should be all you need to know.

Hi,
It is not clear if you are s-off or not.
Once you are s-off,that will remain no matter what you do(unless you choose to s-on again )
If you are s-off,and you want to upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich(ICS) then, everything that you need is in THIS THREAD.
Read it carefully, then read it again!
If you still have questions, ask in that thread or here.
Good luck.

first of all check your HBOOT version (from bootloader -> volume down + power)
if its 1.18 or less(this is only required for SOFF ...if you are already SOFF follow the rest of steps from the guide)...then just use my guide(1st link) for basic steps to keep your phone ready...for flashing custom roms
then for ICS you first need to update your firmware...which was awesomely explained on how to do it from the second guide link I've provided....
remember once you've updated you firmware you can not boot into your OLD GB rom as it is not compatible so you need to get the ICS ROM you want to install on your sdcard before doing firmware update so that you can just flash the ROM directly after updating the firmware
that's all you require...(my best suggestion is READ READ READ...until you are crystal clear)

HTC One S radios?

I'm seeing all these posts about updated radios and s-off, but I really am not following, because I feel like I am jumping into a discussion midconvo and so I am lost on a couple of things.
My phone says 1.64 not 1.5x or whatever. How do I get it to 1.7x?
To my knowledge, I cannot flash this update via CWM, I need stock recovery, so basically I need to revert my phone back to stock recovery? Once I revert it to stock recovery, do I flash the update via recovery or through an adb push?
Hopefully i'm making sense, but if im not, then at least you know how clueless I am, and would be able to guide me.
I really appreciate any and all help! Thanks everyone!

1.7x is the rom base that is used which includes an updated radio, for example TMO US roms have a 1.58 base as the OTA has not come out yet. In europe the OTA came out for 1.78 base with updated radios. If you follow the guide i link below you can get updated to the latest radio, and can have more confidence that you are on the latest radio. That being said you can still run the same radio that you currently have on new roms with a 1.7x base but your radio wont be the most updated.
here is a great post from the other thread with exact instructions

Q Desire S Hboot and Radio

Hello! I want to upgrade to the new hboot and radio. CUrrently got the 6.98.0000 S-OFF by Revolutionary and want to put the reengineered 2.00.0002 - 7.00.0002. Im wondering which radio should I use in case of not getting it bricked and if someone can give me links for the new radio and hboot I will be thankfull.
P.S. I want to flash them via fastboot flash [hboot] [recovery]
Do your research.
Radio can be upgraded if you're s-off. Search how.
Radio version to be used should ne determined by the rom you use.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda app-developers app
I also suggest you read around the subject so that you COMPLETELY understand what you're doing before you start
See links in my signature, including INDEX
Although suspect that as you're on 6.98 (revolutionary) you may have to go to engineered 7.00 rather than 2.00, but not 100% sure

Hi,
Installing the ARHD ROM does NOT install a radio.
Flashing the firmware DOES.
I am assuming you are s-off.
So,look HERE
Select the radio you want, and flash it.
Make sure you read the thread carefully, and follow the instructions to the letter.
Thank you for the reply,
what I did, was got the Vodafone ICS RUU and extracted the radio from %temp%
I then downloaded the radio from the ARHD thread replced its radio.img with mine from the Vodafone RUU ran the install via ADB and it seems to have worked (it hasnt bricked my device anyway) i will see in the long run if it has done the trick.

[Q] Strange RUU Error...

Hi,
I'm trying to get a One S back to stock for a friend but failing...
The phone is unlocked, S-ON, hboot 1.14, 02_01 CID, has CWM recovery and rooted Cyanogenmod 10.1 installed, battery 100% and runs fine as is...
So, first of all I re-lock ready to run this RUU:
RUU_Ville_U_O2_UK_1.78.206.4_Radio_0.16.31501S.17_2_10.23.31501S.10L_release_258707_signed
but every time half way through it fails with the following errors in the attached screen shots...
A point to add is as soon as I re-lock the phone, it then will not boot but goes straight into hboot every time which I thought was strange..?
Anyway, some guidance would be very welcome to get this One S back to stock,
EDIT: Just flashed S4 Stock Recovery and the RUU still fails half way through, any ideas..?
Can anyone give me links to O2__01 HTC One S RUU files, can't find any live one anywhere..??
Thanks

Getting a RUU to run correctly is very hit and miss. The page below is a useful guide to double check the basics:
http://androidforums.com/one-s-all-things-root/691874-guide-how-run-ruu-your-htc-one-s.html
Post 9 details that with s-on you can't flash a RUU with a radio version older than the one you are on already. This may be your problem as I think your radio version will be 1.06 and the one in the RUU you are trying to run is 0.16. The problem with s-on is you can't flash radio's to do anything about that.
The RUU that should work is the one listed below, but I can't find any decent download links for it, like you said. Just try googling it and see if anything turns up.
RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_O2_UK_2.38.206.2_Radio_1.08es.50.02.16_10.09b.50.04L_release_278818_signed.exe

Thanks rosswhite, I think you are right about the radio and no I can't find any download links that work either...
Another thought, does anyone have or know where to get a nandroid backup of O2_01..?

Your other option of course is to S-OFF the device. You can then flash any radio or RUU you want.
