I'm about to purchase a TF101-A1 and was wondering if all the TF101 ROM's and root methods work for this since it is a TF101. Not sure if the A1 make it any different or not.

Already looking for it, but without succes....
Is root available yet? Maybe subforum for 101 G due go different hardware....?
What is 101 G? Do you mean the 3G version of the Transformer? I'm pretty sure root is the same for both, since there isn't a big difference in hardware other than one has a 3G chip and one doesn't. Don't quote me on this though.
Transfomer TF101G has a different version of Honeycomb (latest is 8.6.6.10) and usually the SKU number is B7O...
Or B80 Luke mine....

Posting it twice won't help you.
Not meant to be twice....

Its likely that root for tf101 b70 should work for the 101g (either via an exploit or if the nvflash key is found)

While browsing this forum, i read a comment that says you can root the tf300 without unlocking the bootloader. Is this true?

Not true.
I've rooted, while still having a locked bootloader.
If you're still on ICS can use 1-Click root v1.1 here
If you updated to JB, then not sure if you can root at the moment.

Yes it is, if you have ics. I used DebugFSroot on .30...rooted mine without unlocking.
Unfortunately i have already updated to JB. I am goin. To try the one click root any way. I will post my results

Just so there is no surprise, you will most likely start getting errors when it tries to push files to your device. It pushes to /data/local which no longer has write permissions for all users.

It doesn't work for the reasons stated in this thread. Just errors and an offer to exit at the end.
I'm still hoping someone will try to downgrade using fastboot since the updated boot loader has the USB option. If we can downgrade, we can easily root.

Hi there! I have a stock TF300. I have had it since Feb. Lately its been running really slow and sluggish. I have tried turning it off when not using it and whatnot. Its to the point where I don't even want to use it because I can get things done faster on my phone.
I have rooted and rommed phones in the past, a Samsung gtab7, and a kindle fire.
My tablet literally has maybe 12 games for my 4 year old and maybe 10 apps that I have put on it. Pretty sad.
Is rooting the asus tf300 just as easy? I know that would help my situation, it sucks that we have to hack our devices just to get them to run the way we want.
I have read through some of the guides. Some seem pretty simple... I guess its just a matter of me doing it.
Thanks for the advice.

yes rooting is very easy, just use motochopper
Rooting is suuuuper easy. If you decide to put a custom recovery on it and ROM it, make sure you know exactly what your doing, which files and recoveries are correct, etc.

And not rooted.

Well rooting and getting rid of or freezing the bloatware would help mate but if your not bothered about your warrenty then custom Roms are the best way to really make this a great tablet

Ah thank you but i dont want to custom rom now about a year ithink.

I've rooted all of my phones since the OG Evo on sprint......but when it comes to this tablet I'm at a loss and not sure where to begin. I'm running the most current firmware. Please someone point me in the right direction. I do not have a computer anymore. I rooted my s3 without one so I'm assuming it's possible with the asus .

Sorry mate, I think you're out of luck. You need a pc to root the TF300T. You'll have to wait until you can get your hands on a pc... or if Chainfire starts developing for the TF300T. If Only.
