I wrote this as a live wallpaper for my nook color and posted it to the market. This is a live wallpaper that shows current battery level on a "steam gauge" - part of an old locomotive control panel. The gauge reads 0-100 indicating the current battery charge level. There is a steam leak behind the valves - and an indicator when the device is charging. The wallpaper supports portrait and landscape orientations and transitions but should be initially set using portrait layout. Search on the market for "steam gauge" and it will show. qr code is here for market.
The wallpaper has been tested on a nook color, nexus one, and a samsung galaxy tab.
I welcome comments.
thanks,
Peter

Update: Battery 1.7
As you can see I changed my view of activation. Any suggestions?
Could the Status Bar Icon show different battery icon depending on charge level? For example when 50%, then battery would look half empty?
I think it might look better if the empty spaces between lines is removed, there would be less scrolling then. But it's just my preference, I prefer more details on page with less scrolling.

I've been working on a new battery widget, at the very moment this is in a very early stage to be released. I just wanted to get a rough design out and expect some help from the community in developing this widget. As I am not familiar with a lot of programming and animations, I would like someone to provide links to articles that would help me to make this concept idea into a full Android Widget.
Current idea for the widget includes:
- Animated circular ring
- Battery level
- Color coded status indicator for low level of battery
Future idea to include a analog clock around the current white ring, with animated second hand.
Even if you have any suggestions towards the design and implementation, please leave a comment below and I will try to include it.
Great idea! I want to be a beta tester!
Hi there.
This is version 2 of Android Battery Widget. It displays your phone remaining battery life by how much the android man is filled up, and gives you an optional percentage reading below.

A couple of bugs have been fixed, it now loads instantly and the "Without battery percentage" option works correctly.
It has had a complete overhaul in the way it looks. It looks sleeker, and more at home in the newer versions of android. It uses higher resolution images which look crisp even on the highest resolution devices.
Feedback is extremely useful to me on here so please if you have any criticisms or problems with the app I would be very grateful if you could let me know.
Cheers and enjoy!

Is... is that normal for Tiktok? Unless I'm reading it wrong and it means "53% of your current battery discharge was spent on this app", rather than "53% of your entire battery's charge". I don't use it myself, but I can't imagine what is likely a WebView with video players is THAT intensive.
As for your question, the only other app I know of for this is Better Battery Stats, which a) requires root, and b) is a bit technical.

53% of 9% battery so around 5% battery discharge on tiktok. And what I meant is my display battery usage for the last hours disappeared. I wanted it to look like this
