Is there a way to force the Play Store to download and install all the apps I have downloaded? I just got a replacement phone from Verizon today.
You need to back up the device with google..
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah, back up the device before installing a new rom with Google. Then after installing on first start enter your gmail details and immediately turn on wifi. Google will then reinstall all your apps while you watch. It's an excellent service I have to say but could put a large dent in your data allowance if you are not on unlimited.

If you want to restore your app and data you should use Titanium backup: using the play store you can see the list of the apps you downloaded.. but you can forse a new "massive" download...
Yep. back it up first

Thought you all might want to know....just noticed this...you can NOW remove apps listed in your google play store under 'my apps'! In other words say you installed an app for like 5 seconds to see what its like but didn't like it...well now instead of it still being in your 'my apps' you can remove it from the list!

Hey dude, for the slow folks like me, where do we get this app, I'm rooted on both Samsung AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-I717 and a Samsung AT&T Galaxy S2 SGH-I727 Skyrocket. Both Gingerbread OS. TNX.
Nice! It's about time!! :highfive:

It was so long ago I can't remember where I got it from originally. This should work just fine
Just download the APK and install like any other
or here.
I went to application manager, google play store, clear data, uninstall updates, and the app updated and itself to the newest version.

OK, thanks for the info. b4 I do anything, lets say, here I am, newbee. When I go into recovery mode and choose install from SD, when the file is accessed and highlighted, it warns you that it cannot be undone. I'm also afraid to go thru because I am running the Stock Gingerbread 2.3.6, Kernel version 2.6.35.11. This is Samsung's AT&T SGH-I717 Galaxy Note. I don't have any intention of bricking it. There are some threads that says works only on ICS. I don't want ICS, been there, done that, its memory hog. Thanks.

It isn't a zip its an APK, so you don't need to do any fancy recovery mode stuff.
Download the apk to your SD card.
Uninstall the playstore from Settings>manage apps>all.
Navigate to the apk you downloaded using a file explorer then install the apk.
Thats it you are done. Pretty much no risk of bricking your phone.
Alternatively, If you are really worried about messing up somehow you may be able to force an official update of the playstore by clearing the playstore cache & clearing data. Sometimes that triggers an update

Thanks for all the info. Never know I had that many apps stashed in Google Play. I just wish there's a way to put a check mark beside the app and delete away, anyways, at least we can remove apps that don't need. Thanks,

Who leaks a play store update? LoL.
OP thx for the tip, I didn't know it was available.
I went to program administrator, search engines play store, clear information, remove up-dates, and the app modified and itself to the latest edition.
I just wish you could multiple select applications to remove. When you remove an app it always takes you back to the top of the list and its a pain to scroll all the way back down.

I have titanium backup but is there anyway to freshly download all your apps from Play all at once?
I have tried to let google backup my device but it never works that great. Just wondering beccause Ive been restoring from backups for al ong time and my phone is getting pretty laggy lately and I would kind of just like to start fresh
thanks
You could always restore just the apk without data with titanium. The play store will detect which apps require updating. It's just the same as downloading them.

when apps update in the play store to your device, do they reinstall the app everytime with the updated one or just do incremental updates of files in the app?

Hmm, not sure about that...I'd have thought it would always update with the most updated version but what if the newest version isn't compatible with your phone? (it happened to me a couple of times).
Update you apps. Erase backup in tb. Backup updated apps using backup apps only. Now you have a new backup of all your updated apps.

No, you have to go into menu-my apps then hit the all apps tab. Then you have to manually delete every app you don't want.

Playstore will still remember your installed apps; unchecking restore device will stop Playstore from automatically installing them. He was saying 'no' it will not keep Playstore from remembering you installed apps and told you where to go to see them. And how to remove them if you don't want Playstore to remember them.
Or to say it slightly differently... Unchecking the restore button only stops the auto-restore of your apps on a new ROM. It won't stop Google from tracking your every move and reporting it to the gov't.

It should keep the apps as purchased in the play store.
If not, then use titanium backup to backup data and cache too for the app.

I have no advice, either root or your out of luck.
You're not out of luck bro...titanium backup is obviously a great option but if you don't have root, then Helium Backup is a great alternative which will allow you to backup the app and the app data.
Its free on the play store

I have a Verizon Galaxy S3 SGH-I535 with the latest 4.3 installed. However the wireless and bluetooth stopped working so I have a new phone that I'm trying to move my apps over to. Problem is, one app that I LOVE no longer exists and is no longer in the Play store, so I can't reinstall it on my new phone.
Therefore is there a way to root my current SGH-I535, grab the .APK file, then unroot the phone back so I can send it to Samsung for a warranty repair?

Its not on the amazon store or aptoide? That's a lot of work for just one apk. Heck even a google search might find a download for you.

Try rooting with the safe-root tool - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758&highlight=s3
Then install Titanium Backup, backup the apps and data to SD card, then restore to stock, then you have the APK on the SD card.
Need to get an .APK

Good point. The App is called Unread Gmail Widget by a company called Waxsoft, Inc. This was a paid app but it's no longer showing on the Google Play Store so I can't reinstall it. I've made MANY attempts to contact the developer of the app but all my emails go unanswered.
I've done more research and found that there is no way to extract a paid app's APK off the phone.
After I rooted the phone I went to the \data folder but I didn't see any APPS folder listed there. Is there another location where paid apps store their APK?

If you got the app from the store, and it's running Titanium Backup should be able to back it up for you, no problem. Where you able to get root on your phone yet?
