Play Store - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Is there anyway to disable the play store from automatically reinstalling my apps after a flash? Feedback is much appreciated.

But will that make it so the store doesn't remember my downloaded apps in the future?

No, you have to go into menu-my apps then hit the all apps tab. Then you have to manually delete every app you don't want.

Playstore will still remember your installed apps; unchecking restore device will stop Playstore from automatically installing them. He was saying 'no' it will not keep Playstore from remembering you installed apps and told you where to go to see them. And how to remove them if you don't want Playstore to remember them.

Or to say it slightly differently... Unchecking the restore button only stops the auto-restore of your apps on a new ROM. It won't stop Google from tracking your every move and reporting it to the gov't.

[Q] Weird problem with market link after restoring with my backup pro!

Guys see when I did a restore with my backup pro, all my apps got linked to the market! The apk ones also and when I broke the link they all come under not installed! And my whole app list in the market was erased! How can I get back my list of only market installed apps? Plus even when I factory reset it and install all apps manually, it does not come properly! And even if I install an app from the market the whole thing comes back like that! Please Please Help Me!
likely has to do with market cache, among other things. the good news is, selecting to install them again won't wipe the data
So what should I do to get only market installed app list back! Its very confusing! It linked all my apps to the market on its on!
were you restoring a previous backup from cwm using backup pro? I don't have the app and don't know how it works. if you were, then why not restore using cwm and using titanium to backup your market? this should help save the market data to reuse after using that backup pro app...
Its this simple
Download Titanum backup>open>menu>market doctor>market auto updates
This would attach the links of user app to the Market.
Guys no ur not getting the problem! All my 280 apps apk installed ones and also including market apps have been linked to the market! I want only my market(user) apps to be there! Should I try making a new account!
ok to remove the apps u needo follow the same steps but insteat in titanium backup>menu>market tool>destroy all market links.
then reattach them

I have only market auto updates and market doctor no market tools!
To remove all market link do this
Goto Titanium>"Menu button">Market tools> Select destroy all market links
To reattach
instead destroy all market links select market doctor.
See even when I break market links all apps including user and apk come under not installed! I guess I have to make a new account!

After destorying, try using market doctor the attach the links back. You can try force attaching an app to the market too, go to backup/restore and long press the app and select force attach to the market. It should work
Cheers

How about this:
Delete all Market links
Remove the google account from the phone
Delete all app data of the market apk
Restart the phone
Open market app
Enter account
See if the my apps list is clean
If it is, restore only the links you want to have to.

I fianlly understand your problem. Here's what you can try. Backup the app using titanium backup, uninstall the app and install it again manually(without data). Then restore the data and check if its under the list. Btw, can you see all your apps? If you can't, try reinstalling.
Cheers

Try this (I really don't know if it works)
1) Settings=>Privacy Settings=>Back up my data and uncheck everything
2) Settings=>Applications=>Manage applications=>Market=>Clear data
If in 1) checkboxs are already unchecked... well, it won't work
edit:
If the apps appear as installed, try to break again the links with Titatiun Backup

Did you try as I said? I had a similar issue time ago and I couldn't solve it, so I want to know if doing as I explained will solve the problem.

What I think is: you restored the apps, then the market recognized them as market apps and added them to the "installed applications" list. Finally Android backed up that list. So now, when you break the links with Titanium Backup, Android Market shows them as "not installed" because they are in that list and considers them as not installed.
Its ok guys! I made a new account!

Google play store remove 'my apps'!

Thought you all might want to know....just noticed this...you can NOW remove apps listed in your google play store under 'my apps'! In other words say you installed an app for like 5 seconds to see what its like but didn't like it...well now instead of it still being in your 'my apps' you can remove it from the list!

OK, thanks for the info. b4 I do anything, lets say, here I am, newbee. When I go into recovery mode and choose install from SD, when the file is accessed and highlighted, it warns you that it cannot be undone. I'm also afraid to go thru because I am running the Stock Gingerbread 2.3.6, Kernel version 2.6.35.11. This is Samsung's AT&T SGH-I717 Galaxy Note. I don't have any intention of bricking it. There are some threads that says works only on ICS. I don't want ICS, been there, done that, its memory hog. Thanks.

It isn't a zip its an APK, so you don't need to do any fancy recovery mode stuff.
Download the apk to your SD card.
Uninstall the playstore from Settings>manage apps>all.
Navigate to the apk you downloaded using a file explorer then install the apk.
Thats it you are done. Pretty much no risk of bricking your phone.
Alternatively, If you are really worried about messing up somehow you may be able to force an official update of the playstore by clearing the playstore cache & clearing data. Sometimes that triggers an update

OP thx for the tip, I didn't know it was available.
I went to program administrator, search engines play store, clear information, remove up-dates, and the app modified and itself to the latest edition.
I just wish you could multiple select applications to remove. When you remove an app it always takes you back to the top of the list and its a pain to scroll all the way back down.

simple question about titanium

Lately, I've been using titanium, and it will go to install an app like normal, but in the middle of it, it will open up the install prompt and either say "are you sure you want to install this app?" or "this app already exists, do you want to overwrite it?" "verify apps" in settings is unchecked, so I don't understand. never had this problem before. any help? debugging is also on btw, in dev settings.
Thanks for any help.

Usually this happened to me when I was attempting to restore something from Gapps, like Gmail, Search, or Email. I had to use Root Uninstaller to get rid of the stock versions first to avoid the prompt.
Do you use lucky patcher?
I had this issue also, I noticed it only happened with apps that had info stored on my SD card. I would wipe the app cache and sometimes delete the old app info entirely and it stopped happening for me.

Well if you don't have any backup app on your phone and you can't download from playstore, first you have to fix your playstore by clear "data" for the following apps, (Go into settings->apps tab on ALL)
1. Downloader
2. Google play store
3. Google framework services
4. Delete your google account
5. Reboot phone and recreate google account
If you can download from playstore, download "my backup" app, it's great for contacts and SMS (Titanium is the best but not good for contacts and sms).
** If still not able to access playstore, you need to download "my backup apk" and install it.

My backup will backup all contacts, sms, mms, all apps and app data and system data (scheuler, calendar, system settings etc..). The nice thing is when you restore, you have option to do full restore, or just certain apps (with or without app data), or you could restore just contacts/sms/mms/scheduler/system data etc.(individually-one by one), very flexible indeed.
I'm curious why when I was trying to help in the other post you would open a new post with the exact same question?

Most probably it was a virus app. There a lot of ways to get it installed in your phone( clicking on the wrong ad for example) and they are really hard to remove. The best way is to format the entire partition, in this case /system
