I was just wondering if anyone has received the OTA update yet? I've heard it's live but I haven't received a notification and when I tell it to check for updates it says no updates available...

Update
Nope, i've been checking on an hourly basis! hehe .... I don't know if they're rolling it out in different areas at different times or not.. I'm in Virginia so, it's not here yet..
OTA rollouts usually take up to 2 weeks to reach all customers. There is not set way they do it that we have found. Some may get it day 1 some will get it on the last day.
Usually they start off with only a small amout of phones to begin with in case of issues then they roll out more and more..
Thanks for the quick reply

Nothing yet, even after using *#*#CHECKIN#*#*
If *#*#CHECKIN#*#* doesn't work, it usually means they haven't started pushing it yet.

To add, I think they usually start at night as well. Even though the rumor is May 3rd, they probably won't start the OTA until this evening. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
No update here yet either.
On a side note, Status under software update is blank for me, and when selecting 'check new,' it says 'Checking for new Software available now' then just disappears. I thought it said No update at this time or something like that?
To those already running the leaked RUU, I wonder if the rollout will check to see which firmware you are running and if it sees you are on the latest it will just pass you by and consider you up-to-date and never prompt you to update since it doesn't think you need it
My phone never shows a window in response to a check for updates. My girlfriend has had three Thunderbolts and every one showed a "No updates available" window. I think some phones just don't pop a window in response. I have flashed several different stock RUUs.

Will the update skip over me because I moved most of my bloat to sdcard\bloat ?
Just to confirm, will the update come through automatically OTA or do we have to pull/push it through manually (especially of we are rooted running custom rom)?
thanks

A. If you are rooted and have a custom ROM - just wait for the developer to update the ROM including the OTA... this probably has already happened with most ROMs using the leaked software
B. The OTA will be pushed to your phone randomly... no way to manually or force install it unless someone on the forums captures the OTA url address.
C. If you installed the leaked RUU, you will not receive the OTA
(this information should be a sticky)
I think I almost got the update. I can feel it my phone is also acting like it wants the update so this is a promising sign.

new UK owner here. TF came with 3.1 already on it, i think. my firmware is listed in settings as: hmj37.ww_epad-8.4.4.5.2-20110603 and when i check for updates it says there are none available. TF not rooted.
it worries me that people are posting that they have received new updates since i have had mine but i've had nothing. is this normal? or have i inadvertently turned updating off?

I am from the uk too and I at first I hadn't got an update. I think they're rolling it out gradually because i'm stock rooted and got an update notification yesterday. Haven't updated yet though as i'm waiting for more info to come out about how to go about it, fingers crossed you get it! Hope this helps. Dave.

let me revise that. i *think* i received my update notification. i didn't check it closely and it could have simply been an update notification for one of my installed apps. in any case, i delayed installing it and the notification eventually went away and clicking "check for updates" subsequently returned "no updates available".
i also have not received the 3.2 update notification as yet.
based in the UK. stock rom. not rooted.
i wonder if by not accepting the 8.4.4.11 update, i have disqualified myself from 3.2?
anyone else in this position?
I think I read on my 3.2 update notification that you can only refuse to accept the update 3 times. Don't think it said anything about what to do if you did refuse it those 3 times though.
I bought mine a couple of weeks ago from amazon uk and had it shipped here to malta it had 8.4.4.11 on it already. My 3.2 update came on the 2nd August. I had to force update by going through the About tablet check for system update procedure and all went well.
Did you receive the update meanwhile?
Also having 8.4.4.5.2-20110603 and no update in sight yet

I haven't seen anyone saying they've gotten the OTA update. EP1W seems stable enough to release, though. I think the current issues a few people are having are isolated to their location (constant tower switching draining battery) or the TW4 implementation in the debloated leak.

You can check for, and potentially even download an OTA update when on a custom ROM, however, you won't be able to actually apply it. It checks literally every file to make sure it hasn't been modified, and if any file is missing or changed, it will fail to update.
As of right now,09/06/11 1:46PM Eastern in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with a last name starting in "S," I have NOT gotten the update. I know sometimes it rolls by area, sometimes it rolls by last name (like Sprint) - if it is coming today, it hasn't come to me yet. Obviously you guys will be first to know if/when it does.
I'm 100% stock, not even rooted. Just FYI.
I don't think any OTA will be rolling out until the end of the month at the earliest.
I think Verizon typically updates their device support page before rolling out OTA updates:
http://support.vzw.com/system_update/charge.html
http://support.vzw.com/pdf/system_update/droid_charge_instructions.pdf
http://support.vzw.com/pdf/system_update/droid_charge.pdf
Nothing new there so I'm guessing they haven't started rolling out GB anywhere.
Guess the people who say they've gotten it are lying. Not believing its released yet until I see screenshots. And yeah, even though the rom itself is done, they still have to finalize it and make sure it's ready for OTA, not just flashing through PST, train their staff, etc etc. But WE have it

The leak was labeled as "official" so maybe that is where people are saying they have he official one.
I think we will see the OTA's before the end of the month unless p3droid has another leak in their hands (this last one was a month old)
Nothing here in good old NH yet
So what real proof do we have that this EP1W is even the final release?

My thought is that this is not the release that Verizon will be rolling out. The "official" designation is something that the dev guys put on it, saying its their official release.
There are some strange things in the UI that make me think this isn't an RC. Also, the timing of it is odd, since the devs have had it in their possession for so long.

Let me correct you both,
I do not label things, if it is labled as official and OTA by samsung, then I will state it is official. If that changes over time I will state that as well. You assumption that I just randomly give titles to this is very incorrect.
As to your second point, we always have things in our possesion long before releasing to the general public. That is not an indicator of squat.
Anyone able to grab it yet? Please post your thoughts, and findings!

I hope improvements to 'camera stability' means improvements for when the camera:
isn't playing nice with multi-tasking,
isn't sleeping properly,
might be the cause of phone over heating,
might be the cause of random reboots,
might be the source of battery drain...

While I get what you're saying, it's hard for me to remain calm considering how erratic my signal is. Sometimes the phone just decides it has no sim card even though it does. Data hanging? Yep, I got that. Sporadic text notifications or lack thereof? Check. I think android authority jumped the gun on this one. Usually in the past we have seen the real OTA come out about 10 days from the start of the soak test. And they usually give the soak 7 days to go though.
Especially since they have listed for the OTA is :

No a soak, is just a way to get it in the hands of several users to make sure it does not explode peoples phones, or turn wifi off or turn the radio to hell or anything really odd like that. Usually a soak is very similar as it is in IT, to where you turn it on, and let it run for a few days to make sure nothing catches fire, or dies right off.
If nothing like that happens, then it will be released as an ota in about 10 or so days, bugs and all.... and then the bug fixes will come in a month or so after.... sort of like our 2.3.6 was a huge bug fix to our 2.3.5.

haha - thats a decent way of explaining...
From what the devs/mods on the moto forums said, it'll only be a few days before the OTA is released. Somewhere around 3 days from SOAK start.
Matt/Mark (whichever one is there) said that this is basically a test to make sure the update will install.
I'd say it will probably be official soon. All in all, we know ICS runs pretty decent on our phone, no major bugs, and can install on a clean system. What's left?

not for AT&T - i mean the instructions are going to be the same, but since its not available on AT&T, when you go to the homepage and select USA as country - the last update shown is not ICS, its GB...
EDIT: hankbizzo5 is also right - so those instructions are for international atrix 2 users (where ICS has already been rolled out) on stock 2.3.6. it will be similar for AT&T only when it hits here. so if you are modified, you need to fxz back - check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1909319

I may be mistaken, but https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/90004 looks like it is referencing an AT&T upgrade, as the file is 67.21.125.MB865.ATT.en.US. I'm not an expert, but I assumed that the ATT part in the filename indicated that it was an AT&T update, but maybe all the updates are labeled that, I don't know.
