You might not be bricked, are you stuck on the HTC boot screen? If so you need to flash the boot. IMG or flash 4ext and use smart flash.

Did you read my post? You need to flash boot. IMG or use smart flash. And most likely flash a ics firmware 3.32 or 3.33 use the search button to find out how.

he cant flash firmware ..when SON ...remember this and don't give suggestions to flash firmware ..when the person is SON
also OP if you post your complete bootloader details that would be helpful..to resolve it
and if you have adb/fastboot setup
connect your phone to PC ..from bootloader (phone reads fastboot usb after this)
then open a command prompt from adb folder
and type the below command and post the complete output (except IMEI and serial number)
fastboot getvar all

nope right now ..i think you cant run the ICS rom
what you can do is flash a ICS RUU based on your cid ..which will update the firmware in the process ...
you can find your correct RUU and flash it ..using this guide

My signature has links below for the Radio, and my ROM of choice.
Without knowing what your CID it will be a difficult one
You may be luck and find your CID listed here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
If you can get into recovery you can still set SUPERCID by following these instructions.

But above all READ, READ and READ again to make sure you've got everything you need BEFORE you try

this is the 3.32 firmware that ics needs to run.
put it on your sd card and boot in bootloader mode...
install the firmware and erase the zip from the sd...
boot and BAM the rom works
for flash this you must have a compatible CID, or superCID...

Yea i have cwm and s off, so where can i find the CID on my phone then since i can only acess the bootloader ?!
Boot bootloader, connect device to PC, use admin cmd prompt and "fastboot getvar cid"
If you get HTC_xxx then either check the firmware supports that, or follow guide for superCID as suggested above.

When you have the RUU, run it without a device first. When the first window of the RUU opens, drag it to the side of your screen, open Explorer and search your windows drive for "rom.zip". When you find it copy it to another location and close the RUU window.
Open rom.zip archive and you will find a file called "android-info.txt" open it and see if your cid is listed there. If it is present you can flash this RUU safely.

Thanks for your help, but it's not there. Is there any way to restore DS without this RUU? It's bootloader unlocked, rooted, has the custom recovery. unfortunately the "misc version" was not uploaded in adb mode, thus I cannot change the main version, to be able to downgrade it. But since the main version is "too high" (2.10.161.5) and there is no adb mode and I dont have the original RUU there is nothing to do. Is it possible somehow to change the main version in fastboot???? I think this would be the only chance without the the ruu.

Guess you forgot to fastboot flash boot boot.img
Also, why would you need a RUU anyway? You can still enter recovery, can't you? Heck, of course you can: even if you couldn't you could always fastboot flash recovery recovery.img a working one.
I fail to see why a RUU would be necessary here.

Lets see again: bootloader unlocked, cwm 5.0.2.0 installed, as you adviced I flased an official 1.32.161.1(older than the original 2.10.161.5) boot.img, then tried to install from recovery the custom rom, which still seems to be ok, but the phone freezes at htc logo during boot. Hi I recently obtained a bunch of free smart phones via my job at t-mobile and people upgrading and just not wanting their old smart phones. One of them was a HTC sensation. I have rooted many phones for years now but this one wants to give me issues. I rooted it, got super user installed and CWM recovery and installed jellybean. When it boots into CM10 it never gets past the boot screen. In HBOOT it says son rl HBOOT 1.27.0000. I cannot for the life of me figure out what is wrong. I did a full wipe and everything. Lucky for me this is a play phone but I still would like to get it up and running. If anyone could please help me figure this out. Thank you
First, please do not post questions in the dev section.
Second, you're s-on so you have to flash your boot.img through fastboot. The boot partition is protected with s-on...
And where do I obtain the boot.img? Sorry for posting here I guess nobody had a problem with it in the DINC forums.

First get familiar with fastboot commands: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Fastboot
You'll need adb and fastboot setup on your computer and you'll use the following command from terminal or cmd prompt:
Code:
fastboot flash boot /path/to/<boot>.img
Your other option is to flash a rom that uses the stock boot image. There are two TMOUS based roms to choose from: mine, or ARHD.

I've sent my DS off for warranty, and it was returned with the new ics update installed on it. I immediately found out that the method i used to downgrade it from hboot 2.00 to 0.98(zergRUsh/tacoroot) wasn't working anymore. Are there any alternatives to unlocking the bootloader with htcdev, rooting and then going thru the whole downgrading procedures? Are there any other temproot exploits or are them under development?
Try this

I've submitted the unlocking request on htcdev, and was sent the unlock_code.bin file. The trouble is I can't get it flashed thru fastboot.
I type
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
and it stucks on sending 'unlocktoken'. The bootloader does something, as to reboot it I have to close the command prompt, reopen it and type fastboot reboot-bootloader and it rebbots just fine.
I tried several times, but without luck. What can I do?

Maybe you can try to flash a eng hboot from your SD card on your phone.
You also need a resent version of busybox
Shut down your phone and pull the battery and wait 5 minuter before you put
your battery back. In the mean time install the lastest HTC-USB drivers on you computer.
Start your device in bootloader mode and plug it in to your computer.
You now got bootloader-usb. Now flash your Unlock_code.bin.
"fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin"
Boot your phone in recovery
Make a nandroid backup of your ROM, reboot your phone
To make a backup of the hboot by entering this:
1) open terminal on your phone
2) su
3) dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18 of=/sdcard/backup.img
download a eng hboot.img and copy it to the SDcard/
1) open terminal on your phone
2) su
3) dd if=/sdcard/hboot.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18
4) close the therminal
reboot in bootloader an see witch version of bootloader you got
If it has workt go to recovery and do a factory resset, reset dalvik and install a new rom and reboot
It works for me because my phone has revolutionary root but you can give it a try because I have not
found anyone has done this with HTC-dev, I also got no experience with HTC-dev.
Good luck ( I'm not responsible for any damage on your device )

From that page I gave you the link to there should be all the information you need to read and understand what/how to do and why.
Don't expect people to spoon-feed you the answers as you need to learn or you will simply screw your phone up and then start blaming everyone else on XDA for it.

So, please, for the love of god, I'm begging someone to tell me how to do this. I just wan to flash back to stock recover, relock the bootloader, and install the update.
Anyone!
1.You must flash stock recovery via fastboot
2.lock the bootloader with cmd(fastboot oem lock)
3.Then run the ruu exe with windows.
(Ruu is a installation on the PC to revert to stock)
For your device, you must find on filefactory ruu villec2 2.15

Heh, I was actually refreshing the page every minute, waiting for a reply! I'm that desperate.
Question: how do I flash the stock recovery? I'm really sorry if this is a dumb question. I downloaded the mentioned RUU (what the heck is a RUU anyway ). So now I just need to know how to flash the stock recovery. Is this something that happens via a command through fastboot? Or a file I need to specifically flash in? In which case, any idea where I can download the stock recovery for the S3? 'Cause everytime I searched for it, I just kept getting linked back to RUU files. =S

I know I'm supposed to use the thanks button (and I did), but THANK YOU! SO. MUCH. You have no idea how desperate I've been for the last nine hours trying to figure this out! I'm gonna go try it out now.
No problem
