Hello all,
I am having a Sony Xperia x10i, and my USB is just functioning for charging.
1. Did someone had same issue & sorted out the USB data transfer issue ?
2. I am not able to root using z4root 1.3.0 -> Enable the USB Debugging - > Did permanent root -> after it acquires root the app closes after some time.
Does this meet the handset is root ?
how much time does it take to root with z4root
Am I using the correct method of rooting as my USB Data transfer isnt functioning
Thanks in advance for any help given.
Z4root probably won't work because it hasn't been updated in a few years. You're better off trying Super OneClick

I've looked everywhere for a root exploit that works for my LG Axis as740 but to no avail. I've even tried using methods that work on sister phones Apex and Ally. If anyone has information that could be of use to me PLEASE post it here thank you
try 4shared.com ...(Ginger break.apk) or just Google Ginger break.... think blog in XDA with download.Link that's what I had to use for mine
Ya that did it thank you. Have you (or anyone for that matter) tested any custom roms? There's obviously a lack of community support for this device.
Have you tryed SuperOneClick? It worked for me. Also using SuperOneClick also has the advantage of being able to go into the ADB dir and being able to use adb as log as you have the lgas740 windows driver installed. There is a SuperOneClick section here in the XDA forums, look it up, and give it a go. When you connect your phone to a computer using usb, start the superoneclick program and set the exploit to auto. Both permenent and shell root work for axis.

So, I realised there was guides on how to root our phone but not one on how to un-root(completely).
Here it goes.
1)Your phone must be rooted.
2)Download Z4Root(Note that you should never root your phone with z4root)from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953
3)Install Z4Root on your device.
4)Download SuperOneClick from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
5)Settings>Applications>Check Unknown Sources(In your phone)
6)Settings>Applications>Development>Check USB Debugging
7)Open SuperOneClick(Make sure that you have all of your device's drivers installed on your pc)
8)Click 'Driver Check'(Just to make sure there is no issues with your drivers.)
9)Open Z4Root and click un-root.(On your phone)
10)Connect your phone to your pc.
11)In superoneclick, click un-root.(Ignore if it says you do not have superuser at the end)
12)Unplug your phone from the pc.
13)DONE!!
Optional: You may install a app from the market called root checker(Free) to check that your phone is completely unrooted.
The main purpose of me posting this guide is because if you just un-root your device from superoneclick, it will only uninstall root and not busybox(also known as incomplete un-root). This guide will help you completely unroot your device(Uninstall both root access and busybox).
I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone but will help you with all my knowledge.
You may post any enquiries below or any other thing you would like to see in the future.
Hit the 'Thanks' button if I have helped you out.
U can also do this by super one afaik.

@jcbalunsat
Did you read the whole post? Un-rooting with super one click would only remove root access but not busybox.
Thanks ephraim033.
Can someone kindly please test if this works. The so far I only tested this on 7 devices. It worked though.

great
i tested it and it worked, thanks soo much !!
Talking about Gingerbread, how will one root it?
SuperOneClick is not working for me.
So for me cwm or cf-root is the saviour.
So if I use cwm or cfroot, then I will probably remove root via cwm.
pls no unroot in z4root coz i cant find it
it works great but :good::good:,, it doesnt remove cwm and tweaks..??
how to remove them both.?
Figured I'd post this here, for anyone that doesn't like to be rooted, or has a friend/family member that doesn't want root but wants free usb tethering:

this will work on any android device right?
EDIT: lol woops, my bad... barely read the topic right....
I paid for this app and have been using it for months on a Samsung Galaxy S3, however I updated to 4.3 and the APP runs on my phone but fails to connect on my pc. Are there any updated ADB rivers for 4.3? I have also run this app on other android devices without any trouble and its worked fine. Thanks in advance guys, any help with this will be very much appreciated
I feel like i've been searching all morning for a way to use .ttf files for system font.s. I absolutely do not want to root my phone, so I'm wondering how I can get this font from dafont on my phone called cafe & brewery...I usually use the flipfonts on the google market that are $0.99 but I wish I could just use my own. Can anyone help me out? I apologize if this is posted in the wrong section.

I tried using z4root. I don't think it works with the samsung stratosphere. & I know this board is the galaxy 3, but from what I heard they're practically the same phones. There's no easy way to root a stratosphere, & even though I'm pretty decent with technology surrounding computers and blackberry's, I am relatively new to android software. :/

Download SuperOneClick v1.9.5.0, enable "USB debugging" option under "Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging" on your phone, connect it to PC and click the big ROOT button and you're one of the happy ROOTed users out there in XDA
z4ROOT works for this phone also, but only on 2.1 (Eclair). For 2.2, use the method described above. HAPPY WARRANTY VOIDING
buh.....you can flash any custom kernel with adb root and push fonts to your system without rooting it...

Can you tell me how to do it?
Can you tell me how to do it? @m1trand1r
Hey guys,
since more than a month i am using the xperia active from Sony Ericsson and i ve still guarantee on it.
It s an awesome smartphone, but sometimes the RAM is overloaded and it starts to lag.
Then the battery works for just a day, because of the background-apps, then i ve to charge it again... really annoying
Thats why i want to root my smartphone. Actually i ve ICS(4.0.4) on it (before it was 2.3 or sth.) and i would like to keep it, but on it i want superuser rights. Therefore i found "zergrush" from doomlord, but in other threads i just read thats for Android 2.2/2.3 ...
Is it possible to root my phone without loosing my guarantee (to make root "nearly" unseen after unroot, in case of warranty) on that device?
(sorry for my bad english, i hope you understood my situation and give me some answers )
greetings Red
You can try rooting using Doomlords method for ICS
Flash a stock kernel of 4.0.3
Root it using Doomlords kit
PS its a batch file
Flash back 4.0.4 kernel
Done !!!

Noo, dont root. Youll get stuck in fastboot and spend $12 on repairs!

Whether you're going to root it or not is up to u. However, if u do root and u want to make it unseen or unroot, flashing an official stock rom removes the root data.
i read a thread that made a few things clear, i cant remember who posted it (sorry) but it just said that if they cant prove that u rooting your phone is the cause of whatever wrnt rong with your phone, they will still have to fix it under the warranty.
I also never heard of anyone messing up their android as a result of rooting.
Im not saying jump into it and root your android, be careful as we are always warned that their are risks onvolved and developers knows best

For sure root it´s the best option for anyone that like to customize the system.
You should try superoneclick its a program which basically roots your your phone for you, gives you superuser and there shouldn't be drastic changes to your OS either
google it and download then go to youtube and follow a tutorial such as youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=lD4_wAj1WIY (sorry cant post links yet)
As for warranties I'm not sure but this is the safest and easiest method I'm aware of
but you should probably make sure it works on your phone and make a backup before you try it
