Hmm, apps are stored in the data portion of the backup. Where do you install your apps? To SDcard or to the phone's internal storage? If you're not installing them to the internal storage I'm not sure where they would be or whether they're being backed up at all.
If you're not installing them to the SD card, try this. Do your restore then reboot then go back into recovery and do an advanced restore and just do /Data.

[Q] problems with nandroid

hey guys i have guys i have cmw recovery v3.0.2.7 im trying to do a nandroid backup and i get this message cant mount /system
and i notice some of my nandroid backups have some zip files like cache, data etc
how can i fix this? all this problems start to happen when rom manager updated i have rom manager v4.4.0.7 and it had clockworkmod 5.0.2.0 and i flashed the 3.0.2.7 see if i can do the backup but it did not help.
Do you have enough space!?
If so uninstall then install the recovery again

Rom manager backup question

For some reason rom manager will only back up if I unmount my ext sd card. Otherwise it just boots into recovery. I can't seem to find any settings to change it.

Please excuse me. But do you mean nandroid backup? If so backup from within clockworkmod.

I used to just tap backup current rom in rom manager, make a name for it and it did its thing. Now I have to unmount the sd card first, then do the backup.

[Q] How do you make a nandroid backup?

I recently flashed Proton's ICS kernel because I wanted to watch videos, and it came with TWRP instead of CWM. How do I make a nandroid backup with TWRP?
And is there anyway I can switch to CWM from TWRP?
And another question, How do I view the system files?
Just go to backup on the main screen but that TWRP backup only really works if you are using TWRP to restore that backup. If you want CWM thrn easiest way is to vhnge the kernel to something else

What do I check though? There are six options.
System
Data
Boot
Recovery
Cache
.android_secure
I checked everything especially system and data...doesnt really hurt anything it just makes the backup a larger file since more data is being backedup

it depends...
when you do a backup in recovery mode....
"sometimes" it means that you are not sure about you are flashing right now...
so when you do a restore.... it will back to ur "previews rom" and apps etc...
BUT! BUT! when you are sure to ur chosen rom..
Do a titanium backup... before flashing you ROMS.
this backup can restore your apps ( just install the apps and restore )
like action games.. your save gameplays your high scores etc...
Suggest that you do it BOTH.

How to properly use Titanium Backup Pro Flashable update.zip

I would make an update.zip file with all the apps (Just apps not data) and attempt to flash it once I flash my new ROM. Unfortunately when attempting to flash the apps rendered by Titanium Back I get an error called "error: sysnamaps" or something like that. Any ideas how to properly get this working?

The error I'm receiving is
Code:
E:Failed to sysMapFile '/externel_sd/TitaniumBackup/update.zip'
Error flashing zip '/externel_sd/TitaniumBackup/update.zip'
Updating partition details...
...done

Did you include system apps in your backup? There's a bug in titanium backup where you can't backup system apps.

Possibly, I'll try that out! Thanks a lot!
If i m using link2sd for linking apps to sd card will installation of this update.zip move apps to my sd card or it will simply install on my internal memory?
