Is there an app that can tell to which servers do other apps connect?
That way, if App X is supposed to connect to Google, but ends up also connecting to something-suspicious dot com, I'll know it "phones home".
iptables, more of that for more of use, please

Is your kernel "netfilter" capable?
Try a firewall with Log (I use droidwall) block the connection for a particular app and check the Log, it usually lists blocked ip (then just Google the IP)

I don't know. I have FIREFDS.V2.GINGERBREAD.XWKK5 (Android 2.3.6).

Kind of an indirect solution. Isn't there anything that just lists hostnames of allowed connections?

Hi There,
Is there some way to connect to talk via some other port? Cause on some Wifi network(like at my library) the default port that gtalk uses on android is blocked.
Because of the stupid requirement of gtalk needing to be connected, I cannot download any apps.
Or better still has someone come up with a app that downloads apps from the market without the need to sign into gtalk.
I tried app brain, and I was thought it would download the app once I sync. But it has not done so.
Cheers
Pritish
This would be interesting to know if possible.
As for right now, I think your only solution is to try a proxy or vpn.

How can I connect through a proxy via wifi?
Can anyone explain to me why google made the gtalk sign in requirement for market?
I've uninstalled Gtalk via Titanium Backup, as I don't use or need it, and I can still download from the Market. Maybe it depends on phone?

Were not talking about the app, but the protocols it uses as that's how the market communicates with Googles servers
Sent from my Captivate
Found this website called Slideme. At the moment that's only place I can download apps over wifi, but they obviously don't have all the choices
According to facebook report over my mail, someone has entered in to my fb via Xperia XA, Saratoga, CALIFORNIA, US. I am at Europe.
Most likely i was blocked because my phone Ip have changed somehow. Now i cant enter in to my account with msnger and facebook (only from browser) app on my phone. Think the security system is blocking my phone.
Ps: i had to swap Wifi with 4g in order to get access.
Did you use any vpn to access Fb?
Think not, just standart office Wifi connection. And i just check , my office location (according to my laptop is Europe), but according to my phone 4g i am at California ,Saratoga. So whats going on ?
Its something from the phone system, i changed the firmware few days ago, and the phone is encrypted now, so maybe its forcing the apps to connect via VPN network, or who knows...
really ?? my phones comes with greek firmware and now I use south Africa firmware !! is there any problem ?
Have you some apps from unofficial markets like Aptoide? Have you some apps downloaded from file-sharing links or P2P? If yes, don't search away, you probably have a malicious app.
If you are rooted, use a permission manager app, Xprivacy is good for that and allow blocking strange permissions (Facebook, Google accounts, contacts, device ident, ... for an app who don't need them).

1) Try to re-download apps from trusted sources.
2) Try AVG app integrated in the device to scan it.
3) Use Xprivacy and block unnecessary permissions on suspicious apps, make some test (block/unblock) to understand what mean each permissions. For sample, a game generally don't need root, phone contacts or SMS and needs sensors, storage and Internet.

Not suitable ?? Big targets to be suspicious are warez/cracked apps.

One reason I'll never use apps like that in the first place. Just asking for trouble.

yea few which i was trying to connect a DSLR and use the phone for shutter remote.
It looks like i have already removed the antivirus app.
I made this app for my own needs a few years ago. Then I decided to publish this app so others can use 'cause it might be convenient in some situations
This app will forever be free with no ads. I hope people would tell me how to improve this.
* ROOT access is REQUIRED*
This app use Root permission to access the connected wifi list from your system to list them out for you in case you forgot a wifi password and/or you want to share with others.
It also allow you to save that list to you local storage/SDCard or sync it to cloud storage.
Cloud backup use private App Folder on *your own* Google Drive account to save data. Even you cannot browse it by yourself (you still can delete it). Currently, this app only support restoring from Cloud.
In summary:
- View connected wifi lists with password
- Save Wifi list to storage/SDCard
- Sync/Backup Wifi list to Cloud
- Restore wifi list from Cloud
- Copy wifi password to clipboard by long-press wifi item on the list.
Download link
Cheers!

Great job, dear. To load up on Google Drive, do you uses the Drive API?
You have a private message.
Could you help me show the password on my s7 edge? It shows a weird character instead of its true password. I really love the design and feature (i.e. ad free!). Thanks!

yes, it's encrypted. BTW, I don't have any Samsung device to find a solution
Please update to oreo
I'm trying to use it on 8.1 and what's strange is that it uploads to the cloud just fine from my old phone, and the new phone can see (in the app) the passwords on the cloud, but when I choose "sync", the new phone's local wifi list does not change. Is there some specific instructions I need to follow? I've given it root access and selected "sync" on my new phone from all three locations (all/cloud/local).
I'm not able to create account or sign in on Spotify. The app came with phone.
Update or unistall updates then update again. Try erasing cache. How are you logging in? FB or normal way

Do you have it in your country at all? The app maybe is in the phone but Spotify must be released where you live.

Well, Spotify isn't available in your country, so this is why you can't make an account. You can disable the app since for you it is useless for now.

Forgot about VPNs. Yeah you can use that OP, but be aware, the free ones aren't secure at all, all of them having some kind of dubious clause. Remember, if it's free you are the product. I recommend PiA for a good one, or CyberGhost.
Ok, he literally just needs to trick the log, free vpns aren't secure but yes he'll get to log in
I have already disabled auto-update from Play Store, however, every time I open the app, a popup appears telling me that I need to update the app in order to use it and I can't do anything else until I update."
Sounds like it's not updating through playstore. Maybe it's an automated app routine that calls an update request to its update server
How do I fix this?
Firewall block it if it doesn't need internet access with Karma Firewall or equivalent.
I disable Playstore as well.

That elevates its risk level. If it's updating from a 3rd party site it could potentially download a virus payload. Ditch it.
Or block the ip address for it's updates... more trouble than I would bother with.

How can I find the IP address for it's updates? Please recommend me an app that can do that, or if possible, where can I find the tutorial so I can learn it myself. Thank you

Not sure as I never had to do that. Try this maybe. You sure it's really worth all this trouble?
