While the Nokia N9 might be Nokia’s first and last efforts at a MeeGo device, it certainly does not meant that developers for the handset have given up entirely as well. As you can see in the photo above, one particular developer has uploaded the picture onto his Twitter account, clearly showing what appears to be Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean running on the N9. We can’t tell if this is for real or if it is a fake, but if it is real, this is most definitely good news for N9 users who might be looking to give their device a new lease on life, much like how the HP TouchPad saw a recent surge in popularity due to its ability to run Android ROMs on it. It’s also hard to tell how far along this port is, but we will be sure to keep an eye out for more news regarding its status and availability, so stay tuned!:laugh::laugh:

i hope for n9 forum and xda work on this greetings from pakistan
Pretty cool. I like the design of that device, as well as the Lumia, so this might make for a fun project phone.
Hey,
how can we get behind this? Want to know how to get this Android, etc. Would also like to see a Nokia N9 section.. think it's one of the most amazing smartphones ever built.. like N900. Classic.
As I recently got a brand new n9 64gb as a present by my girlfriend today <3 :good::laugh: :silly: *happy*
Kind regards from Germany
I am ready working over the android port for the N9 as i have it with me as my 4th spare device. If i get 100 people at least asking or supporting this, i am ready starting this.

Please develop this! I just got this phone to run Android on it! Please start developing 4.3 for it!
The people here at http://forum.nitdroid.com/ would really love it!

Would love to see that!

Really hope that you will start working on the N9. :fingers-crossed: I really love the phone, and I think it's a shame that it was pretty much left to die by Nokia. I've heard rumours about maybe a Jolla Sailfish port? I ain't no genius when it comes to programming, but, I do have a Nokia N9 and the will to help out in whatever testing you might need done.
Any Hope of getting Lollipop on a N9

hi. how can we install the original Android 2.2 on this device?
thanks
you have to buy a DMC DeLorean, change some parts and drive 88 mph., if you set it right you might get into the future where you can download the android on windows mobile installer....

I lol'd in real life.
But seriously. I realize not everyone can jump ship everytime a new phone comes out. But android on a hd2 is a dead and beaten horse.
As of now it wont work.

Yeah i know, people have been asking this for a long time now. But the thing is, if they wanted Android, i wonder why did they buy a HD2 in first place? haha
I, too, came from android, but I wanted to try winmo that's why i went with Hd2 instead of nexus one. Although i miss android, I don't think the Hd2 needs Android. I love it so far. just hoped sling player worked on it. otherwise, phone is great.
to the OP:
i would suggest looking into evo or something else, if u want android man. Don't hope everything can be ported these days. Porting a mobile OS is a pain in the you know what. And these devs who doesn't get paid to port, won't port it unless they really want to sacrifice precious time of their lives.

Its cause when I suggest HD2 being great hardware but the software is crap people just believe the hype... In my store we reset the phones at least 2 a week because it crashes...
ive buyed hd2 because of the good hardware. but i thik android its better than WM 6.5.
thanks
It's quite obvious that this thread is useless and against the rules.
To answer your question:
There is no Android available at all for the HD2 at this moment.
Please refer to the thread; remember to only post when necessary.
Next time, please make use of the Q&A section to get your question answered, and make sure to search first before asking.

ok thanks.

I don't think the software is crap! lol...the only thing I hate about the window mo, is that there are not enough software for the phone!! and all the new stuff that is coming out is either for android or iphone.
android
I have tilt 2 i flashitand put a romnow iintalled android the volme dont work nor the ringer or camera cananyone help i do great donnations
Android vs WM6.5 HD2
I will agree with everyone that Android Market vs WM Market has more free Apps. I will love to see more developers create apps for WM or create a cooked room for HD2 with The android App
hey if u really want android on your HD2 i would sell that HD2 to the highest bidder and switch to Sprint and buy the amazing EVO

Is anyone else getting INSANELY bored with the same old stuff for the T-bolt? I know that I am currently missing the daylights out of my good ole trusty HTC G2. Does anyone have some advice? I am running the new hacked 2.3 rom right now, but there doesnt seem to be anything truly new done.

Feel free to shove off anytime now, mate. Clearly you don't pay much attention to your surroundings, but there's some excellent work out there. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I don't buy phones to see how many crappy ROMs I can flash on it. The Tbolt dev community is focused tightly on cranking out reliable, feature-rich, functional ROMs. None of these guys are slouches. And now that I've said my piece, I'm gonna forward this thread to the first mod I run across because its totally pointless. Thanks for your vacuum of input.
Have u tried a aosp rom....
Sent from my A05PTH3ORYB0LT using XDA App
Yeah, some of the AOSP roms are beautiful BUT I personally think we need to pull together to get that darned RIL working with MIUI and THEN the T-bolt will be amazing again.
@ Loon: Hiya bud, nice to see ya trollin yet another thread ;-)
G2 came out ages ago when most things were new on android....maybe that's why nothing seems "innovative" to you anymore
There's a saying that everything seems great in the past because we forget the things that were bad.

I like how you think loon is the troll. You realize that a vast majority of the people in these forums don't care about your opinion, as they find the Thunderbolt to be an awesome, feature rich phone with fantastic dev support.

So I remembered a cool concept from a long time ago that I had seen on engadget. It was a really cool UI that you operated with only one finger and dragging. It was a truly unique design and I loved the futuristic appearance. After a few hours of trying to remember the name and googling, I found it! Now I am aware that this concept is 2 years old, but its still so fresh and awesome.
Its called the Emblaze Else handset. The UI and OS is based on linux too! So would it be possible to get someone to build a simple homescreen replacement based on this? or maybe in some magical way get a port of this? It is the most drool worthy thing I have ever seen.

The Devs here all started just like this dude, they wanted something and learned how to make it happen. Google is an awesome source for finding how to's. Instead of asking someone else to do it for you, Google it and do it yourself. I'm sure if you pm any of the Devs they could help you with any questions if you get stuck.

Appreciate the encouragement. I have looked at the sdk page and have watched a few tutorial videos online but I have never written a line of code in my life. For anything.
That said. Is there a language that is both easy to learn, and compatible with the sdk to build a launcher with?
Ide be open to any suggestons or links to language tutorials! I would love to be able to learn some coding and contribute to the community.

posting in here so i know where to come back, hope for some good info or sources on getting into programming as im stuck trying to figure out which ones best to start with.
Great looking design im sure it was a great idea bought out by some company that just had their leader step down so we would never get to choose it or something!
I can't find any new messages 'bout this software. I wish to try install it on my mobile... Is anybody has any news or tried to download this UI ??
Haha this ui was designed by a company called emblaze for a whole new phone.
Although it is built using linux, the entire OS was never released and neither was the phone. I made a thread about it to see if some devs would be willing to build a launcher similar to this. Its an amazing ui.
I believe one of the key designers now works for HP so hopefully we will see something like this coming to the next generation of devices from them.

IMHO i think ICS looks so nice (i just want to try that face detection lock so bad )! and because our transformer is such a popular device i think we are going to get cm9 but i hope that asus will give us official update in 1 month MAX
and as for the sdk... its just useless because it is laggy and totally unusable IMO
Yep, heres hoping ICS will come to my TF101, there is much life left in teh TF101 platform ... come Asus, keep me a loyal customer.
Asus confirms ICS coming to Trasformer I & II. Pls follow below for full article.

That's a key thing. They would be perfectly dumb to leave TF owners--who are essentially paying testers of the very first iteration of their TF line--high and dry and lose us to other tablet OEMs. Customer loyalty is hugely valuable.
Sweet!!!! I love Ice Cream!
I would like to tell those ASUS execs out there that I am very impressed with their company. I have owned (and still own) several ASUS mother boards most of which have been excellent products. I am very happy with the level of support they are providing for my Transformer. When it came time to recommend a new desktop for my sister a couple of weeks ago we went with an ASUS from Newegg and she is very pleased with it.
KUDO'S ASUS!!!!
Just up late excited about the hopefully imminent release of the N5.
Do any devs feel generous to describe what their first steps are to get CM working on a device once it's released? And is the Nexus 5 particularly easier than other devices because...?
Not asking for the purpose of a release date, but just really curious how the development process goes. I'm a comp sci major and am just in awe of what you developers do. Thanks!

Well first 4.4 source needs to drop. CM 10.2 will never make it to this device... we are going to have to wait a few weeks until CM 10.3 nighties start.
