Built off 100% unaltered AOSP source. Stock kernel and everything. For those purist's amongst us.
New links added since you guys killed my db links lol. Give the db links 3 days and they should be working again.

Nope did not loose my custom recovery. Its very clean and appears to be stable.
P.S. I flashed all 3 with TWRP in order
1) ROM
2) GAPPS
3) SU
After a full wipe of course...

My Nexus 7 isn't here yet, but this is incredible. I'm coming from a Droid Charge and HTC Rezound-- I won't even know what to do, its almost confusing to have choice.

You beat me to the punch I just compiled 4.1.1 r3 late yesterday. Thank you from a fellow purist.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

Great job man,downloading now .

I'm confused, how is this any different from the official 4.1.1 OTA update? What does Google add or change from source other than the Google Apps?

AOSP roms if they are the latest build include the newest fixes and updates straight from Google. Also true AOSP roms do not include gapps. Gapps are not open source like Android. That's why they are flashed separately

there is also no Nexus boot animations just the old fashioned ANDROID bootscreen

You will not lose your custom recovery, as i removed the stock recovery from this rom. Glad you guys like it.

That's weird. I thought nexus 7 was supposed to be stock AOSP Jellybean.
Lucky people with the device. I'm still waiting on mine to ship. 16gb version.

how is this rom running? really smooth and fast? im planning to flash this tomorrow..sounds very appealing to me. pure aosp should mean fast.

Running great for me.

great rom...really smooth and fast.
is it possible to lower the nav bar like how it is in jr5? i think it looks better that way lol.

This is a pure AOSP Rom, and I'm gonna keep it as such unfortunately. However if you wanna rip this Rom apart and edit the nav bar to whatever specs you desire go right ahead, that's why I uploaded this so we can have a stock base Rom to do with as we please.

So given that this aosp does the op know what main differences are between it and the jb that comes with the n7?

no man. It same JB but with NO CRAP !!
Faster as hell :highfive:

Well, I didn't try to download the rom, since I can build this just fine at home (and do).
But I did try and grab your gapps, since I was having a hard time finding a gapps package that mirrored my original factory gapps.
But I figured I would let you know your dropbox has been suspended for large activity. Maybe you know, but since it isn't in the OP...
Edit: And if you are selecting option 4 in lunch (userdebug) then root access is included. Are you building 'user'?
Edit2: Looked at the fixed link. eng has root too. So they're gonna be rooted, whether the flash the su or not. Although most builds just go for the userdebug. eng just adds more logging services, FAIK.

Jelly Bean Miui?

Is there by any chance an miui rom based off of jelly bean is in the works for the nexus s?
Not yet. I've been lurking around miui homepage and miuiandroid but says nothing about it. But I'm pretty sure they'd get it out pretty soon.

Yeah, it comes with it's own kernel, but I'm not sure if JB kernels will work with ICS MIUI.

The ROM wouldn't boot if it didn't come with it's own kernel.
EVery ROM comes with its own kernel which will overwrite what ever you have previously. MIUI just had a major theme comp, therefore likely to stay on V4 until at least end of the year. Also, MIUI says that their ROMs or rather the kernel is at 60fps, it should be similar to the smoothness on JB project butter. you won't miss out much if you use MIUI.
Thx for all of your answers, i just installed it... miui kernel doesnt have voodoo sound

you can install 3rd part kernel , just make sure don't use JB kernel on the ICS ROM or otherwise
My inside source is saying we should get JB next week (2.8.24). That said we were supposed to get the sg Note rom 5 weeks before it actually got shipped so grain of salt...

MIUI rom is worst rom I ever used... It looks like freaking copy of ios and also very slow. Last time I flashed MIUI ICS to try it for the first time, it broke my radios. I tried flashing another roms but none of the radios were working even on stock roms and I spend so much time trying to fix it manually %&()#@
have a look miui jb
i tried it the memory drain is the same as the ics(xiaomi fix your [email protected]@@ scheduler in order to kill at list 1 up with out the need to slow down like hell and force the user to use the task manager)it work a bit faster thanks to butter but if they don't fix there issues miui will die before the end of the year even in one x(as far as i heard in forums) the rom is slow as hell because of the faulty management system of the rom, the 110-150 mb that are left free in nexus are far from enought to use apps or play heavy games the problem is that after a while the memory goes full on it's own and in the task manager all the apps+the game eat almost 350 mb so where are the other 150mb?
i made a thread, plz post ther

wich rom to stay with?

hi
2 years withe my love GALAXY S1 (I9000)
rom every 3days ,alot of changes, life is running.
now ,i want some silent ,somthing to be stable and to install all my games and programes.
so i buy 7.7 , i am just asking LQ1 or LQ2 or CM9 or CM10 or any rom else which is
stable ,speed ,less problems.
i know this is the main question in fourms but
i will install it just once ,and will not change it .
main usage is web browsing and reading(smal font in HC is realy problem)
any advice plz
Paranoid Android! :good:
my suggestion... stock deodexed tweaked rom...
all cm10 based roms are crap tbh... very laggy and buggy for me... no real jelly bean effect.... the indian stock was the best for me...
in i9000
JB smooth, nice and better performance but some times i feel it need more hardware ,more function need more hardware .
LQ1 is good enough with everything working so if it isn't broke don't fix it as the brickbug is quite worrying after so many cases.
Im using Tweaked stock beta 5, tried CM bulids, but there are missing stuff, and. small bugs.
I suppose Zeta 4.0 shoulbe same as the one im using, no bugs , smoot efortless expereience

I just did the same move i9000 to P6800 on Friday. CM9 was great on my sgs but I had one of the original SGSs with the slow chips and JB was usable but slow.
i like cm9, nice and fast, no issues, and the experirience between my cm9 phone and cm9 tablet are the same
I load stock ICS then Zeta4.0 then Dedraks kernal to get rid of debug crap . I use latetest hk.
Yes, the Indian one's the best DDLP5
But I could not find the Deodexed one...(so as to apply the V6 Supercharger).
Does anyone have the Deoxded one of DDLP5 ? Many thanks

Cool, yes please!, I'd like to download it.
Sorry for bothering, but could you provide both full and no-bloatware ?
For no-bloatware one, which apps do you remove: readers hub, games hub, social hub?
What about the s-dock that shortcuts popup memo/calc, etc?
Is it possible to install back those removed apps if I want them again?
Many thanks
found the full stock deodexed at this thread...

yes I tried that one, I couldn't get kai's one to work, ddlp5
I can't recall exactly, but it was either boot-loop, or I could not get the /system to have as rw..

thanks, will update soon, btw, have you got the supercharger all working with this rom?
update1: hm, i get a boot loop, after the GT6800 logo, I dont even see sammy logo.
the rom was originally from the official ddlp5, before fleshing yours, I wiped everything including /system, /data, /sdcard, /cache
update2: supernoob here, but I see that yours dont have boot.img inside the zip? do I have to have a correct boot.img?
thanks
you dont need to wipe... what included in the zip is a replacement deodexed /system/app and system/frameworks... others will still use the stock ddl5 files... supercharger script is also working fine.
btw what cwm did you use... i'm using cwm 6.0.1.1...
the way that i install it.
1. flash ddlp5 using odin
2. flash cwm 6.0.1.1
3. copy the files to sd card
4. flash it with cwm
that's all... it never fail before...
So
Ddlp5 looks to be the best untill now.
Can I ask why people return from JB to ICS ?

I think the current JBs are all based on CMs, they are alright,.. but I personally think the official stocks are much better as far as the stability goes
(I'm kinda used to Samsung touchwiz and options, etc),
it's just that the official ones often have more bloats then needed (but again I might be wrong)
I've recently tried all JBs from Dev thread, i.e., JB v1.3, Nexness v2, paranoid v2.1, etc (all latest as of today)
But they all seemed to have some unknown or awkward errors, and not 'smooth'. and so not recommended for daily use (for me..)
Hoping for some the official JB release from samsung..

Returning to Stock

Ive had enough of running buggy, battery hungry roms and would like to return my Nexus S to stock. The last time I was on stock was 2.3.6 I believe. If I flash via CWM to the official 4.0.3 in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445570 will I then be able receive OTA updates, ie to 4.1.2? (obviously Ill be rooted again, but im not fussed)

Buggy? Battery hungry ? You were in what ROM? All custom ROMs at almost 100% bugs free(especially CM10 and CM10/AOKP based). Weird ...
Dont have the time to setup the computer for Fastboot, couldnt get it working with Win7 last time out either.

Tried all sorts, Oxygen, NSCollab, early ICS roms (awful), others i cant remember. Best combo i had was stock 2.3.6/7 with a Kernel i think. I found that invariably they become less stable the longer you have them installed. Of course if you change rom a lot you'll never notice.
I'm with you, running stock 4.1.2 since it came out, only with custom kernel for BLN, highbigmem and voodoo sound and don't regret it a bit. A lot of free time and no need to update all the time;P

How did you root and unlock your phone then? Only way to do it needs an actual working connection with fasboot/adb. Even the 1 click crap uses that.
I guess nothing stops you from flashing 4.0.3 then going the upgrade route, but I don't see that as a very efficient nor a clean way to do it.

It would be hard to call CM10 something related to stable (same for any CM10 base ROM). Even they don't call it that. That's why the nightly tag is for.

Managed to get ADB working on my old XP laptop, which i no longer have! Just tried to install it, and again the driver problem rears its ugly head. Just wont recognise the inf file! Like I said, dont really have the time, guess ill just have to flash to 4.0.3 and wait for the OTA Dont have the time to muck about trying to get the drivers working. Might give it one last bash with the SDK

You'll see a lot of people still have complaints regarding functions that get broken with each version, only to come back working after the next one. It's silly to assume CM team doesn't know **** about development and simply tag "nightly", "RC" and "stable" for the sake of it. Please don't bring up made up stability percentages into the lot.
You can glance at the nightly changelogs yourself to see NPEs getting corrected in relatively core apps nearly every week. Not just for crespo too, but regarding CM10 as a whole.
I'll give you that though, on a day to day basis, the rom is very usable. But good luck getting a 1000 hours uptime without the thing becoming sluggish.

If you use all commands from the flash-all.sh script, yes. No need to flash the bootloader and radio if you already have the latest version.

|ROM||AOSP||JB||4.2.1||Perfect Android 2.1

Perfect Android is a redistribution of the Android Open Source Project and Google software code that I have lightly modified to make as a daily driver for myself that I'm sharing with the community. This project doesn't have and won't focus on adding a ton of features and mods but instead focus on stability, and reliability so yes basically this is a stock like rom but not just stock my only efforts will be to make it run better, and be more polished, and complete.

Always remember that XDA started out as a great place and will remain a great place as long as we are great to each other anything used in this ROM is available upon request and feel free to use this as a base rom for any other project my ROM is un-branded just give me some mention .......

Can you have some screenshots?
yep its uploaded
it looks just like stock I built it to be at least as good as what you get from google if everything is working correctly that is when I will begin modifying but for now it looks like the stock ROM so I didn't think screenshots would be needed
first of all you have to give us changelog, then i'll flash it, because now i don't know exactly what are the differences between Your rom and stock, so is it worth flash it?

Its solely up to you guys if you want to flash it as this is an expensive hobby for me I'm just sharing what I do with the community so is it worth it, for me yeah, for you I really don't care, I hope I'm not coming off as an ass but I have to draw a line somewhere. I not making any claims with this ROM I just sharing it if you use it fine if not fine, I don't get into the whole screenshots large claims huge changelog thing I just post and share I also maintain this ROM for the Sprint Galaxy Nexus which it has done just fine so if you want you can do a search here and see what and where I come from .......
I'm very happy when see any new rom in N7 development, because nexus need fresh look from developers, so i was thinking that You could push some new tweaks into ours devices. Almost all roms here are just "cleaned" or "minimalistic" or "performanced" in real these rom are almost stock with the same user experience. So do not get angry when I want to know if there will be something more here...
Does it work with twrp?
After flash with twrp, I see the information is Android 4.2 JOP40C. I dont know whether it is flashed or not?
I will happily try your rom to see how it compares to CleanRom, give my feedback tomorrow

Almost all roms here are just "cleaned" or "minimalistic" or "performanced" in real these rom are almost stock with the same user experience. So do not get angry when I want to know if there will be something more here...

I'm not getting angry with you in fact I agree however, regardless of how you feel about those roms someone still put that effort into them. Honestly for me the N7 is a new device and before I go making claims that my ROM can start your car and end world hunger I want to make sure that it at least meets stock standards. AOSP has done a lot of work to somewhat remove google entries in their code so it has taken me a few days to re-build AOSP code to work correctly with G-APPS and other Google code I do NOT claim to be an over the top developer I just do this as a pastime I have certain things that I do not like and thats why I have started making my own ROMs so that I always get what I want. Now I can tell you this and I know this as a fact THIS IS NOT A WINZIP KITCHEN ROM IT IS BUILT FROM SOURCE it took hella work to get it up to a win zip ROM and thats where we're at so far lol. When I learn all the changes to the 4.2 coding I will start to add small feature to my ROM.

Thank you! I dont know this.
This ROM doesn't include busybox. I think jakdillard should install busybox by default .
Testing this ROM with LeanKernel.

The 'From_4_3' refers to if you're coming from the partition layout that was used with 4.3.
You see, the 4.4 kk ota changed the blocks that each partition uses. So if you've never flashed to the ota then use the 'From_4_3.' But if you flashed the ota you will need to use the 'From_4_4' version.

Can you play Asphalt 8 and the other games? And 1 question, why don't people use 1.24.502.3 instead of the 1.40?

I will test and find out if it does play it.
Btw, Download link is up:
SolidROM_ver_0_7.zip
I was under the assumption that 1.40.401.1 was the latest Rom base. Would we not want the latest?
Theme shown in screenshots
ROM looks great, but the theming is nothing like the screen shots above. I like the stock Sense look - how do we revert to the standard theme?
very nice rom and the theme is awesome
can you add apm and xloud?

I thought the latest was the 1.24.502.3? Because you are able to see all the newest games on playstore and you could download and play them with full graphics? While the 1.40 doesn't have that.

Yes. The theme that is on the first post I am building into the second update I have coming. I am trying to do an aroma build. But TWRP has a hard time with aroma for some reason for me so gonna keep at it until it works the way that it should.

I edited the androidpolicy.jar so that it will allow apm. Just have to use the sense 5 toolbox [2.4.1]. Check under various mods in that module.
I actually am adding xloud in the next version already too.

the 1.40 system dump I made was from an unbranded Mini, bought in Germany, running with O2-DE.

That's that playstore version not the rom, on a ota from HTC on 4.2.2 are only really minor updates like HTC speak seems to get updated and minor camera tweaks and noticed alot off Google bloat apps just to give a little taste of kitkat has afew was added to the ota for 1.40 but hard to tell has they was no information about it. But major changes is if the rom was upgraded to 4.3 or 4.4 but has being a custom Rom the changes can be made by porting or using updates from the HTC one or any other from of updates or modded apps. HTC updates doesn't mean they're the best has has you all have come to use custom build roms so don't anyways think the ota is the best because in my opinion it's just mainly aload of bloat from HTC trying to get out of making big updates for this device. Pushing little ota's to keep people happy but really slacking behind the rest of the devices

Thank you for explaining. Now I understand a lot more about it. Do you know if there are ways to unroot the mini atm? Because I need to return it to att for a replacement because there are cracks on the white plastics. I always had my case on and barely took it out until yesterday I read about a thread here and found out that mines has one too.

Really this should be posted in Q&A not in this thread has it's disrespectful has it's not a question about the rom. But you need a ruu to go back to out of the box, unrooted, locked so it looks untamperd. But has again HTC lack big time on ruu too. Can't find any atm it's a big disappointment that this phone lacks such software for people to recovery their phones if needed. Only way I would suggest is use the stock Rom and install using stock kernel/boot.img the fastboot recovery.img found in a ota.zip then fastboot oem lock that will relock bootloader but that's close has you will get I think.
and also keep the theme from 0.7 if you can
Kernel is unrooted right?
Can't install PAID APPS from Play Store......
Any ideas?
Thanks!

you mean stock? you can normally check in settings > about phone > software information > more - official/stock kernels don't normally have someone's name against them
e.g. my evo 3d with stock kernel is [email protected] #1 SMT PREEMPT
---------- Post added at 01:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:05 PM ----------
can xposed framework work on this rom?
I can't actually see much about it on the HTC One Mini from a quick search... in the old days (on the HTC One) there was a zip that was required because HTC stripped out some of the features IIRC - can't see that or any for the latest version and after installing xposed it seems to lose settings each reboot... any advice?
thanks

Well I never had any problems with xposed. This isn't the HTC One either. It's the Mini where there lack of support for everything, unlike the One so it takes users like me to try make it happen has no one cares for the device.Try updating your su or using a different one and it's setup correctly
