[ROM][ICS] MIUI 2.7.6 For Aria [Beta 1.5]

So I ported MIUI to the Aria! Based around WinSuk's CM9, it works really well in the brief amount of testing I've done.
About/Credits
This ROM was made using this guide:

Bugs
-Everything from CM9 not working probably won't work here (although it looks like HW Video decoding may come soon ;O)
-Some theming troubles.
-Keyboard size (Alternate keyboards in the play store are regular size though)
-Wrong RAM info, thinks we have 512MB of RAM, when in reality that is the ROM size. My bad ;P
-Launcher needs to be better formatted for our screen size

NOTE: When I flashed this for the first time, it lagged seriously slow on first boot after flashing. After 5 minutes it was perfectly smooth just like Beta 1. Rebooted, and still smooth and no mega-lag. Don't know if this was specific to my device (I had been flashing many test builds, so it's quite possible), but I just want you to be aware of this, and not automatically rage-quit as soon as you flash the ROM if you do get this temporary lag. I also haven't tied updating from Beta 1, I just wiped and installed. Updating w/o wiping data should work in theory, but I can't promise you it does.

Probably. When WinSuk adds HW decoding to JB I'll try. Today/tomorrow I'm going to update this ROM to add CM9 beta 7 features as well as try to fix some bugs.

Install "MoreLocale 2" from the playstore if you wish to change the language. Should work, if it doesn't I'll try to add native support.

Alright, I think I'm just gonna wait until WinSuk adds HW Decoding to JB, and just upgrade this to Jelly Bean for Beta 2. Then just fix a few MIUI-based bugs, and this should be a pretty awesome ROM.

It worked with all the languages I tried, however I do plan to add multilanguage support when I update this ROM to Jelly Bean (which will be coming after WinSuk adds HW Decoding to it)

Just updated the thread to Beta 1.5, it's pretty much the same but now includes HW video decoding. Only a .5 release because I didn't get around to fixing any bugs yet.

Just as a heads up... the launcher format does fit after a reboot in version 1.5. Also MoreLocale 2 does only work partially - it helps setting the right keyword, but some MIUI apps and the settings are still in English. But there is one good thing so far... S2E from WinSuk seems to work. I'll continue testing and report more when I've found something. Runs really smooth! Great job.

This is great! Never thought that Aria would have another ROM for ICS/JB apart from CM. Good job!

Yes, I have the same problem with MoreLocale 2.
Please add native support in next build.

Can you somehow make MIUI support Beats Audio? I tried the beats audio installer from Google Play but it broke the music player, so I had to reinstall the whole ROM...

Idk, I'll look into it tonight. MIUI doesn't natively use DSP Manager, but maybe if I get that working, the AwesomeBeats DSP Mod will work.

Glad to see this little phone is still alive. It was my first smart phone and I loved it.
Nice job getting miui over. I never got to experience a working build on the aria

Got a really alpha version of JB working last night. Don't plan to release JB until HW Decoding support is added, but if anybody wants to test they can PM me for a pre-alpha version. Runs really smooth and really only one major bug seen so far (phone has troubles booting and it takes awhile to boot, once it does it's fine though).

I think I will try JB when Hardware Video Decoding is added. But could you elaborate about the bug you found in your pre-alpha version, as I don't have that much time for testing?

Are you sure it's not just on first boot?

I don't know if you know about this already, but sometimes when I want to turn the screen back on the phone just freezes and the display stays black, so I have to take the battery off and back in. Do you have an idea? Could it be the SD Card or the SIM Card? I'm using WinSuk's S2E with an ext3 partition.

Download music info on the walkman v player doesn't work correctly, the player works fine but download music info will force close on you. Just a heads up to everyone.

I keep getting FC's when I go into the sound setting to try and activate this. I'm using the latest CM 10 nightly. Will other sound mods such s Volume+ cause this issue? I believe I still have it installed on my phone.

Ya when I read up on this certain other sound mods and apps will fc and mess with this mod... Try to un install that then reboot and try it then

It's supposed to work on all Galaxy S and Experia 2011 devices... The ones posted in OP r for the former! Try them one at a time and see if they work just make a backup first because there's prolly close to a hundred files give or take a few that this adds to ur system

Well I removed Volume+ and rebooted but now the option under sound (music effects). I even tried to re-install AC!D and clear cache but still no go.

i honestly just got done downloading this and flashing to my phone and i don't c a difference ( not trying to offend anyone by no means ) the devs awesome work yes but for me i don't c a difference but hey maybe i just prefer what i already have ( Awesome Beats + Apollo ) they both work pretty outstanding for me in my opinion so but hey to each there own but if there is any real difference between what's been posted from AC!D to this then i will reflash but for now i will stick with what i got

I hear a big difference but i flashed the volume hack and the acid audio mod but not the walkman player (didnt like it) it sounds alot better on apollo and waaaay better on pandora im happy with it... Also everyone when u flash this clear dalvik cache and cache before and after flashing then fix permissions then reboot i think it def helps make sure everyrhing gets flashed and implemented correctly

Yea a definite big difference for me as well, you really have to mess with the settings to get it to perfection. Yea its worth wipeing the both caches just In case. Also !UNINSTALL DSP MANAGER! if you have it before flashing.

No,sense base. On CM no problems with sound.

The mono sound bug is present in cm roms too.

I don't observe such mistake on CM

Unfortunately, only the "Original Holo" variant will work on Kitkat, none of the Material ones will work.
Besides, this is not a ROM :laugh:

For me it is not working:
In Driver status it says: "Processing: No"
I just installed the apk and wanted to try some options. I am on N5 with Optipop and Uber L

And if I change it to compatible mode I get fc on soundalive and it freezes up. Causing me to have to uninstall it and reinstall.

What music player are you guys using? Also remember Permissive mode is a must not optional, even after driver installation permissive mode is still needed for full use.

I had everything set, that was a screenshot after reinstall
I used spotify and no effect. Play music wouldn't play at all when I had it enabled and set to compatible. It just fc soundalive and said playback was temporarily unavailable

Tried it already, it seemed awesome at the beginning, but then I realized that when I was talking I couldn't be heard during a call. So I'm back to stock now. However, that was the only thing that was not working properly. I could actually use as a daily driver since I really liked the hole project! Nice work for start!

Installed today morning and everything was set up nicely. Had some issue with super su not able to update binaries so replaced it with magisk.
The only failure point was bluetooth not working in my car. The phone paired alright but it continued to play music from phone speaker instead of using the car speakers. You might want to check that once. I have shifted to another rom that I had on my dual boot.

Thanks dev! Another thing I'd request you to look at is the sound quality while using headphones. There seems to be a persistent hissing sound/static noise in the background when listening to music on headphones.

I know, this is my first time too. I reinstalled viper4android through magisk and now its working fine. Must be because of some module somewhere.
Should I install firmware as well? I was on a nougat rom earlier and had flashed firmware while installing the rom.
Edit: flashed latest firmware as well. Network drops becoming too frequent especially during calls
