Hi, I installed the AOSPX on my Inspire and was wondering how I would go about downgrading from this ICS ROM back to stock GB? Do I use the hackkit...or? And if someone would be kind enough to break it down into steps it would be really appreciated, thanks.

Edit....My bad. I'm drunk and didnt read. Yes. To go back to stock you can use the hack kit. Assuming you want to go back to stock not rooted.
As far as steps read the manual for the hack kit.

Yes. If you want to return your phone back to unrooted stock then you can use the hack kit. Please read the effin manual, the hack kit thread, and ask for help in the hack kit irc if you need help.
If your just wanting to go back to a GB Rom and stay rooted then just flash a GB Rom like you did to get on aospx.

I've been cruising around this forum for a couple hours and I see roms to flash via ODIN and deodexed and rooted stock, but no plain-jane out of the box ODIN.
Am I missing something? In the Captivate forum it was easy to find.
ODIN isnt a rom its simply a program/tool used to flash kernels, I recommend you use whitwhawxk's stock kd1 but it is rooted and deodexed (which are good things anyway)

Don't worry I do know that, lol. Not a complete noob.
I'm more concerned with UNROOTING to out of the box state for warranty or resale scenarios or to update via kies mini.
In the Captivate forum the plain Jane Odin was easy to find.
Thanks for your response.

So is that the official unroot method so far? Flash the rooted stock and use SOC to unroot?
Will that result in a perfect out of the box state?
Also haven't been able to find kies on the samsung website. Do I have to register before they'll let me download it?

I flashed my phone with NexusMod ICS Beta when ICS leaked for this device. Is there anyway I can either revert back to stock 2.3.6 and then update to the official ICS or just update from where I am (4.0.3) to the offical ICS?

I really appreciate the link you sent me. But these instructions are for the opposite of what I am trying to get done. I I want go from flashed rom to stock rom. I used to have stock 2.3.6 and flashed with a custom 4.0.3 ICS rom.

Look through dev section
It's pretty easy to root ics

I looked the these threads I could not find guide how to unroot i535 verizon 4.1.2 back to stock. I found old guide uses 4.0.4 unroot. That works that way?

Grab the stock firmware and odin flash.

There isn't any guide to unroot you just flash an unrooted stock ROM via Odin and that is it.

Did you watch the video to see if it is for Verizon version of the S 3?
Use the verizon stock firmware instead of the international one and flash using odin as mentioned in the link.

LeonKnight12: Which method did you use for your successful restore?
I need help im tired of jellybean. Theres too many things not working for me and i want to go back to GingerBread. I try to flash GingerBread roms but it just brings me back to CWM recovery. Is there a way to go back or im stuck on jellybean. I even tried to flash an Icecream Sandwich rom but it just brings me back to CWM recovery. My recovery is 6.0.2.8.
You probably should just one-click to stock and start from there.

I don't think you can downgrade from an mtd ROM if you were using one. I think you will have to return to the stock 2.3.6 first, and then flash another ROM if you would like.
I'm using this to create my answer. http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S/SGH-T959V/Installing_a_ROM
When ever I try to flash gingerbread it says my phone is the galaxymtd or something like that but I know my phone is the galaxy s 4g

That means you were using an MTD ROM before, so you have to restore to stock. There's an easy way to do with the Heimdall One-Click
OK thanks guys I'll try that and give you feedback
