I just picked up my one s s4 chip....followed instructions from hasoon tool kit. I'm unlocked, rooted but now I have no data. 4g shows reception bars full calls and text fine.....even called tmobile
To see if there was a outage....nothing. see no data. What has gone wrong? It only happened after unlocking bootloader and rooting

I think because you unlocked bootloader so all (phone data and settings) were deleted which include the apn.so recreate the apn(access point name)
You should also try removing your SIM for 5 minutes then re-insert it.

My suggestion is to clear cache/dalvik, and reflash the latest T-Mo radio.

It's not too hard to find. The dev's name is attn1, and the tool's name is aahk. Just Google the two terms together.
EDIT: Gizmoe beat me to it.
I recommend just flashing a stock RUU from HTC. It'll just replace everything to stock (in the process losing everything on your phone, just like factory reset).

oh... well because I had some issues with HTC and windows 8...
obviously the drivers are not compatible. and for some reason the emails were not showing up after submitting the code.
After I restarted the computer and waited about 2 hours. they showed up
Oh ok...well my issue now is I.can't even.FDR.registered to the HTC.dev.site. it will not send me the email to activate my account. So I.can't get the.bin.file.to unlock bootloader.

If you're on an AT&T One X I don't think we get the HTC tourch app. I don't have it either. And yeah like he said if you were rooted your phone would say tampered and relocked. And your carier takes care of tethering. Go to settings and then click on more. Hotspot or tethering should be right there

Charging only.
USB debugging doesn't need to be on.
Essentially, plug in the phone, run the RUU. It will tell you what to do.
It might be silly to ask such a question but because of my curiosity am I am asking it.

I had updated to RUU 3.18. Now when I connect phone to PC via USB cable, I'm unable to choose between "Charge only" or "Disk drive".
Phone connects to PC as MTP-device.
Is it a feature or a bug?
Feature. Shows at a portable device now. When sd gets mounted you lose access to apps on sd while mounted
With mtp the phone functions 100% while hooked to pc to copy files or whatever
