Wifi issues - Motorola Atrix 2

I'm trying to connect to a Wifi network that's unprotected, but has a login page when you load the first page. After doing this, the Wifi will try to go to the next page, but it doesn't load, it still stays gray, and it disconnects. After trying to get into the Wifi settings again, it freezes and I have to reboot if I want to try the Wifi again. Anything I can do?
I'm on 2.3.6 stock rooted.

If the login/password is correct on a computer, you should try a different browser, preferably one with a desktop engine - firefox opera chrome all use their desktop core and should behave similar to their desktop counterparts.
I'm assuming here you are having problems with the web-based handshake and redirection. If your whole phone is freezing, u'll have to tell us more about the network...

Very strange on and off WMWifi Router problem

I've just recently bought an HTC Touch Pro on Verizon plan. I read about WMWifi Router so I decided to try it to be able to share my phone's internet connection to other devices. I also realized that Verizon had removed the Internet Sharing app, so I knew I had to get that also. I got it all to work, but it doesn't work after I shut it down and restart it. These are the details, and I apologize but it's rather long and confusing...
I got WMWifi Router first and installed it not realizing I needed Internet Sharing first. After it didn't work, I downloaded Internet Sharing, installed it, and it still didn't work with WMWifi Router. I could connect to the phone via Wifi, but I couldn't browse the net on the laptop I tried to use (Windows XP). I uninstalled both Internet Sharing and WMWifi, and then reinstalled Internet Sharing first, then WMWifi. It worked this time, and I noticed the little icon next to the "Cellular Connection" on the WMWifi screen was green this time instead of yellow or red as it had been before.
Everything worked great with good speeds. I then shut the program down. Next time I tried to use it, I had the same initial problem, wifi connection but no internet on the computer. The icon at Cellular Connection on WMWifi was also yellow again. I uninstalled WMWifi, and then tried to uninstall Internet Sharing. It told me it couldn't remove it all. I then reinstalled Internet Sharing, and I had to restart the phone. Upon restart I installed WMWifi. Everything worked this time, green icon at the cellular connection, great speeds. To test it, I shut down WMWifi and restarted it, and no internet, yellow icon at cellular connection.
During this whole process I could always get to the internet on my browser, so I always had signal, and data was turned on.
I did the whole uninstall reinstall process and it worked, with a green cellular icon on WMWifi. I turned it off again to test, again it didn't work, only this time when I tried to uninstall Internet Sharing, it didn't tell me it couldn't remove it. Then when I installed it, it didn't make me restart. Now no matter what I do, I can't seem to get it to give me a green connection on Cellular, and I get no connection to the internet.
I know it's not a problem with the computers I'm using as I've tried a couple, and I can verify it's not. It's a problem somehow with WMWifi binding to Internet sharing or something similar. Maybe I have a faulty copy of Internet Sharing? Anyone have any ideas?
to be honest, if it was me, i'd try one of 2 things.. or maybe both.
1. backup my data (you can do that using PIMBackup2.8) and hard reset since something might've screwed up the whole thing
2. pm Chainfire (the creator of WMWifiRouter) and ask him if he has any experience with this issue.
It may be related to a bug that is fixed in the upcoming 1.30 - or it might not. I'm afraid I can't really tell from here right now (I'm in Barcelona).
As your experience seems to vary a lot and you have done a bunch of things, you may need to hard-reset as well (not sure - yet - though).
You should write support @ wmwifirouter . com about this issue, so it can be handled.

Windows Live can't connect over 3G

Im having an odd problem, where windows live does not seem to attempt to use the default Internet Connection settings on my device. I am connected to the internet, via 3G, i can download emails, browse the web etc. However windows live does not seem to want to use this connection. It signs in fine over wifi, but as soon as I disable wifi and try to connect directly over 3G, it fails.
The odd thing, is that it doesn't even attempt to open an Internet Connection over 3G before it fails. I would expect the sign in process to try and open an new connection but it just displays a connectivity error. I suspect it is trying to connect over an invalid connection, though there seems no way to tell Windows Live to connect over a specific connection like you can with regular mail.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I might discover the cause of this problem? The only change of note I have made before this error started was to setup an Exchange account with Googles sync feature, however I fail to see how that could be the cause.
Welcome to forums
Try reinstaling live messenger or use another version
It would help a lot to know what device you have
Sorry, thought I had my specs in my sig. runnign and Xperia on Stock Aussie ROM (WM6.1). Have tried reinstalling but to no avail...
I have the same problem with my Palm Treo Pro on Telstra Next G, and all effort so far have been fruitless, my main problem is that when the phone goes into sleep mode so does Windows Live/Messenger rendering the whole thing useless. No such problem exists with my Nokia 6120 which connects Windows Live thru Next G without issue. Just about ready to go back to Fring which also had no Next G problems.

[Q] Very annoying problem with Android 2.3.6 connection type.

Hello,
So here's a challenge for anyone willing to resolve this matter:
When I'm connected via 3G, my phone (Atrix - running Gingerbread 2.3.6) can download ANY video link (I click on download/watch video and the message to choose the app pops up, the video plays just fine).
HOWEVER, if I'm connected via WiFi, all I get it an error page saying "this webpage is not available". Nothing happens. No popups, no video, nothing.
I tested using another WiFi connection, different routers, tried turning off/on the phone, different browsers (Dolphin, Opera and Android native) and NOTHING seems to work.
I came to the conclusion this is something related to IP, DNS or Proxy configuration maybe, but I don't understand how to deal with this kind of thing on a cellphone running Android.
So, anyone having similar problems or with any possible solutions? I don't know what may have caused the problem to start happening!

Stock browser hangs

Anyone getting an issue where the stock browser will randomly intermittently stop loading webpages?
It doesn't crash but no pages will finish loading, with blue bar stuck halfway.
Reboot fixes it, killing process doesn't.
100% sure its not the network because no other devices are affected. Also chrome is fine.
I've had to use chrome instead but I prefer stock!
Stock ICS HK Tab ZLSP7 firmware rooted.
I've noticed a few hangs with the stock browser when using 3G connection.
Seems to be the actual data connection and not the actual browser though, as when I use the tab as a wired dongle to hook my netbook up to 3G I also seem to get intermittent and unpredictable hangs. Usually if I wait, the connection will return after a couple of minutes.
Often, doing an 'ipconfig /release followed by ipconfig /renew on the PC will restore the network connection immediately. Also disconnecting from packet data and reconnecting from the config menu on the tab fixes it quickly.
(This is running Honeycomb).

Games won't load over WiFi but do over mobile data? [T-Mobile, S7 Edge]

Hey guys! I'm at a bit of a standstill.
I just purchased a Galaxy S7 Edge (T-Mobile if it matters) and I'm having some issues with a few games. For some reason, most of them just won't load over WiFi but they load perfectly over mobile data. Here's a few prime examples:
NFL Mobile. When connected to WiFi, the game gets stuck at "Signing Contracts." Eventually it times out and says I need to be connected to the internet. The second I turn off wifi the game immediately proceeds past the stuck screen and works just fine.
Asphalt Xtreme: The game loads, but when you're finished with a race it says "getting card info" or something similar which it's essentially referring to the rewards. Over Wifi, the connection times out. Over mobile data, it works instantly.
I've only found a few 'fixes' over the internet and none have worked. I haven't tried the factory reset yet but I will if it's my only option. Here's a few things I found online which I've tried, yet no luck.
Changing DHCP to Static in my phone.
Updating DNS1 to 8.8.8.8.
Changing TKIPAES to AES
I use a WRT500 connected via fiber optics, 300mbps if it matters. I'm set to IPv4 (doesn't even have an IPv6 option), PPPoE, WPAPSKWPA2PSK, changed TKIPAES to just AES, WPS is enabled, and I'm getting well over 200 MBPS from speedtests. Web browsing is normal, YouTube loads 1440p+ instantly, etc. My problem seems to be just the games. I've also tried this on my work WiFi, works just fine.
So what do you think I should do here? Is the router the issue? Are there some sort of specific network changes I should make? Thank you for any insight.
If it's working fine on your works WiFi, then it seems the issue is not the phone, almost certainly your home WiFI/Router
Try rebooting the router, if that doesn't work, restore it to factory settings and start fresh, don't forget to write down any info needed for the router to connect
No proxies or VPNs enabled on the router? Sounds like it's struggling to directly connect to the services needed by the game and hanging, rather than knowing there is or is not a connection and proceeding it just keeps trying
Its google being a as*#*#hole again, it happened to me. Drag your screen down, open wifi, then open wifi preferences, (go into advance wifi settings on your phone), There will be a network rating provider, when you open that setting you will see google selected as default, unselect it and select none, (the option that says "none". Problem sovled. Google ruins everything, i turn off as many google settings as I can. Another way around it is to set up another device like a tablet/pc and turn it into a hotspot and then connect your phone to that new hot spot. Its all because some server game require a trusted connection and google tells the game that your wifi is untrusted. Hope that sorts it for you.
