Shutdown Animation? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Currently running AOKP Milestone 6 and I've been able to add my own custom boot animation (system/media/bootanimation.zip) and custom boot sound/music (system/media/boot_audio.mp3).
Now, I'd like to have some Shutdown Animation. I've tried creating a folder "shutdown" (system/media/video/shutdown) and placed a shutdown animation, shutdown.qmg
I've also tried naming my bootanimation.zip as downanimation.zip to see if it would work, but still to no avail.
Tried looking around the forums for other methods, but I'm not sure if I'm looking in the right place or if AOKP just doesn't allow it.
Any information/help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Yeah, after snooping around the forums I think I've just come to the conclusion that it just doesn't work on my build...
Anyone know/think otherwise?

Decepticon Boot

Saw this works for us as well as long as on Froyo or Darchdroid. I thought was pretty sweet.

then it wont work out the box, you'll have to change it.
What would we have to do to make this work on Fresh 2.3.3? I've never messed with bootscreens like this so I have no idea. This is possibly one of the coolest boots I've seen though.
I'm curious about this also.
I would love to have this for Fresh or RegawMOD

I think boot.img's are diffrent for sense and non-sense roms. just a guess. cause i see when people make them for sense they say they don't work on vanilla roms or visa versa. so i think you'd have to make a whole new one.

I am new to all of this, so I just read and research until I find stuff that works. I also have to be very careful not to brick my phone.
Thank you for this! It is better than the merging nexus one logo IMO. A little big on the hero, but who cares. If only it had some sound

correct, i ripped apart fresh2.3.3 and he has a boot1.gif in the /system/media/bootanimation folder
on darch and froyo they have a bootanimation.zip in the /system/media folder. my guess is to take all the images in the bootanimation.zip in the part0 and possibly part1 folder stitch them together in photoshop(you can resize here too) make an animated gif, open in gimp and deoptimize then resave as animated gif. name boot1.gif and push to the /system/media/bootanimation folder.
i just adb pushed this to /system/media on zen exp and it works and it's bad ass
I can confirm this works on nfinitefx45 Rom...

I can also confirm this method as working by doing the same using Fresh 2.3.3 (a sense UI based rom also). Happy booting decepticons!
I tried pushing this after I installed the CS6 test 4 with no luck. I still get the custom boot that was originally on it and DD2.7. After I push it, it shows that it was successful and give the size of the file transferred, but when I reboot I get the same one.
i pushed a custom gif using the images in this boot and it was either blank or it was small and different pixels like it was a bad res any ideas how to get it to work im using fresh 2.3.3
awesome guys glad you found an easier fix. for the froyo user i pushed it just fine i'm on cm6 test 4. pm me if you need help.
I'll try to retry it here in a few hours when I get off work. If I am still unsuccessful, I'll send you a PM. It's good to find another Kansan on here.
I figured out my problem, since I had just redone my Hero with the new CS ROM, I forgot to turn on USB debugging. Retried the steps and was successful.
Nice glad you got it going.

[Q][Request] Stock droid charge boot animation

Does anybody happen have the stock charge bootanimation.zip and the boot sound wav files?
Much appreciated!
Edit: Never mind I found them. But is there any way to edit the boot file to make it blue instead of red? I'm trying but I can't seem to find out how.

Mind directing me to where you found the stock boot animation for the charge?
No way to edit .qmg files without qmage software...which is proprietary...which means it's expensive. Samsung mainly uses this devil-spawn file format in their Bada OS.
Edit:I spoke with a couple guys ok the Bada forums (rather I PMed them a few months back) who have edited these files and never received an answer from them. Perhaps you might have better luck...perhaps not.

Everything you need should be in this zip, both qmg files and the power on.wav
Just extract and place the files where they need to go.

Any issues with these files in gingerbread? I am currently using Humble 3.1. Thanks for providing the zip. Still no answer from the Bada forums?
I did get a reply linking me to a theme developing tool for bada, cant remember the name off hand...it does handle .qmg files however there is no direct front end to manage it and i am far to inept to try and break down and isolate the code needed for this...
So essentialy, no lol

I'm not sure if the custom ROMs will support the qmg boot anis. I haven't tried them.
The worst I can see happening is it won't work and you'll end up withe the plain android boot, or it will and it will be "watermarked" with the android. Somewhere in the past there was a post floating around on how to fix the "watermarked" boot but I can't remember where I saw it. Hope this is helpful

go into root explorer go into SYSTEM then BIN inside BIN youll find a file named BOOTANIMATION it should be near the top since its in alphabetical order just delete that file and itll get rid of the "android" animation thats over your bootanimation. and reboot

if you try it and get the watermark that should fix it

I don't know if this is just some mistake I made, but I wanted to double check before I even procede in trying to figure out what is going on there whether this mod will even work on the Charge. Has anyone tried it? Is there a different mod/tutorial that I should be looking at?
Thanks.
Did you ever figure it out? If you did could you share?

Nope. I'm really surprised no one else seems interested in this. There is a huge thread on it at the top of the Android Development forum (or maybe it was theming)... Anyway, I'm still hoping someone will chime in.

Change startup screen ( Animiated )

Hello,
Is there any direction's someone could give me such as a link explaining how to change the startup animation screen rather then the default startup samsun screen.

Using an app like root explorer,
Go into system/media then copy and paste your current bootanimation.zip somewhere else as a backup.
Then after turning on read/write delete it and replace it with the bootanimation.zip of your choice. (tip) Sometimes you need to name it sanim.zip instead of bootanimation.zip and
Reboot.
[Now back to my lab to try and make a custom boot animation...mwahahahaha.]

Boot animation
Thanks ever so much for your replies:
/System/Media - Attempted those steps and none worked. In that folder there are Qmg files within this folder.
Any other suggestions? As for turning on read write im certain that its turned on as I"m using Root Explorer.
Sorry for the late reply. The splash screen is, the first image that shows then comes the boot animation.
Idk how to change the infuses splash but I kno on the att sgs2 we got to flash a custom image with Odin then run a .bat. This of start the sgs2 has do.
I did at one time try an app that did this, but it messed up one of my files and did a boot loop
.
Sent from my i777 high in the sky
you need a kernel that supports bootanimation.zip. the infusion kernel does but its named sanim.zip instead. if you are on froyo then get the defuse or community kernel infusion froyo for overclock...
on gingerbread you are looking for the entropy DD or hellraiser or infusion gb.
the stock kernel plays a .qmg file which is proprietary and can only be replaced with files from galaxy s phones. if all you want to do is get rid of the att branding then you can take the Samsungboot.qmg or whatever from a galaxy s i9000 rom.
boom.

its not nearly as easy as changing out a zip...you have to edit a database file and push it back onto a read-only partition...
buuuuuut thats only half of it as the splash screen is actually two images back to back
the other image is in the kernel and i have no idea how to f*cks with that
Then why doesn't someone hack it? Or try it...don't talk about it....today I will release Zeus with facial recognition, I didn't say when the hardware was released "idk if infuse can run this or not"....I just grabbed the files and got my dev on....I'm sure the splash screen can be changed....tho I've never tried...I'm sure it can...just grab the files you need and test test test....don't wonder...do it...

maybe this weekend... but really its not that easy.
but I forgot it may be in the kernel not param.ifs and bootloaders. I gotta dig into really old threads. I don't think its in the bootloaders like the i9000 gb bootloaders but if it is I'm certainly not messing with it. if its the kernel then I can take a crack at compiling one from someones github but I've never done it successfully.
the thing is I know who knows about each mod but haven't really ever gotten questions answered..

24 Intro Boot Screen

Hello, I rock a rooted stock kitkat rom. I was curious if there is a 24 (the tv show) boot screen from the intro?

I can fix that. Since I made this thread I spent all my time trying to get one to work.
I tried all day at work. Then I got home I happened to search something different and one of the tutorial guide threads said something that no other one did.
When compiling the bootanimation.zip you need to switch compression mode to "Store" and it finally worked.
So if anyone is interested in my bootanimation it's the intro to 24. Here it is. its the kind of zip you flash through Custom recovery.
Heres a better one with cropped images so it doesn't look so squished.
Also I'll attach the the bootaudio file
