Can't root my Digix Tablet Andriod 2.3.3 - General Questions and Answers

I neet help to root my Digix Model TAB-720. Andriod version 2.3.3
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-infoTM
Build number: GRI40
I've tried 1 click, which gave an error when trying to run. (Windows 7 ultimate).
Z4 root: which just sat there with a revolving circle and then went back to the main screen. Using Root Check Basic, The device does not have proper root access (blank SD card also).
Gingerbreak: Loaded, extracted and gave me the ok screen about having an SD card and USB debugger enabled.
Erased SD card, mounted it.
Started Gingerbreak, Loaded, extracted and gave me the ok screen about having an SD card and USB debugger enabled. clicked ok and got message Rooting.... Running exploit..... This may take a few minutes! Device will reboot on success!
After 1 hour, still running, no reboot. Help.

Got it to boot, now to find an upgrade

Got it to boot, now does anyone know which upgrade from Andriod 2.3.3 to use for this Digix Model TAB-720?

So, did you get your tablet rooted? I want to root mine and this is the only thread I could find on Google about it.

I got it rooted
ok go to the digix website and download the drivers and download super one click just google it. after you install the drivers run the programs and press root wait for it to do its magic and its rooted hopes this help you. just got the tablet today and its ok

Why?
i can not find the drivers for the digix tablet PC 720 they can not be found anywhere if anyone knows where i can find the drivers for the digix tablet PC 720 the help will be much appreciated thank you in advanced!
P.S. It seems like every android product i buy can not establish a connection to A windows pc at all i really dont get it and it really is soo frustrating they should really add a driver installation CD with the other accessories that come with the android product because obviously people are going to want to connect there android tablets/phones to there computers no?

roms
any roms for digix tablet 720?also the ics rom for digix tablet 730 maybe work on the 720

dont need drivers
just down load super one click it can force install the drivers and then it will root the device for you i just did it and it worked like a charm. all you have to do is plug it in and push root it will tell you you have no driver and ask if you want to force the driver installation say yes and the when it finishes unplug your device and plug it back in and it will root the device im sooooooo freakin happy i managed to get this thing rooted !!!!!

[Q] How can I safely root the galaxy s?

I have downloaded the one click and samsung drivers. The program opens fine. But I have read some people getting phones messed up from rooting with this program?
Should I remove the SD card first before rooting?
Does this program work with 2.2 one click for Galaxy?
Thanks!
Hey
the version i used is 1.7 and no problem here ....
I have read somewhere that you should unmount your sd card , well i didnt and still got phone rooted..
i dont see much of problem with it ..... it will take around 5 mins so just be patient.....dont forget to install samsung drivers .... and put phone into developer mode
Can not get it to work.
Yes I did download Samsung drivers succesfuly.
Yes I enabled Debugging mode succesfully
Tried using both One click 1.7 in Rage mode. Tries to work but just cursor flashing and does nothing.
Then used the other One click program that comes up with BLUE SAMSUNG I9000 and has choice to One click 2.1, 2.2 or remove root.
I choose 2.2 and then phone resets like when I used Clockwork on my old HD2.
I chose correctly to install the files.
PHone loads files but then get error code and wont install them. Reads Signiture Verification Failed!
I read others having same issue of phone not letting files install.
Anyhelp!
I know its not rooted as Titanium Backup is not getting root permission..

Down root check fron the market. Just because Titainium is not getting root permission does not mean it's not rooted. It’s not that difficult to root the SGS 4G Phone. The first thing you need to do is make sure your phone is communicating with your computer. Install the Samsung USB drivers.(make sure you have the right drivers for your O.S. either 32bit or 64bit) In your phone go into Settings/Applications/Development and make sure you check “USB debugging”. Connect your Tethering cable to your phone. On your home screen you should see “USB Connected” popup on top of your screen. You should be able to press USB connected button from the drop-down menu on the home screen and see the external SD card on the computer now. If that works then Turn off USB storage. (leave “USB debugging” checked) Then Download SuperOneClickv1.7-ShortFuse, expand the file and go to SuperOneClickv1.7-ShortFuse Directory. Run the SuperOneClick App. When it opens don’t change anything and just click “Root” and let it run. It should say rooted when done. Then go to the Market on your phone and get Titanium Backup and install it. It will ask for SuperUser permission and accept that on your phone. If that fails press “Problems” button, Then “Get Busybox”. Install the new Busybox. You may have to close and reopen Titanium Backup again. BTW this post should be in general.
yeah, i dont suggest you use rage. it took forever for me to root the phone that way. i left it on psneuter and it rooted in about 5 minutes
Sent from beyond the Galaxy
Thanks guys! Yes Rage was the issue. I followed his instructions and left in pnuueter and it worked perfectly! Now my Titanium is rooted and working.
Now if we could just get a good Apsd to let us format the SD card to ext 4 that would be a perfect world!
Thank you.
Moved to proper forum.

^ thats what i forgot to tell him to change it lol
Rooted my SGS4G using Superoneclick.
2 things I noticed. Your AV will think that Rage is a virus. NOD32 kept quarantining it. I turned off both AV and FW.
Also, after you install the Samsung USB driver, reboot your computer. I had that "waiting for device" message until I rebooted computer. Then it flew. The driver doesn't offer to reboot, or tell you to.

What method to root a Samsung replenish

Just wondering what is the best method to root a Samsung replenish. Thanks
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I'm wondering the same. I've tried using rageagainstthecage, gingerbreak and psneuter. The first makes the phone vibrate alot. The second just sits there and the third looks like it runs comlpetely but still no #. Anyone tried anything else?
Edit: z4root causes the constand vibrate. rageagainstthecage kills adb and adb will not recognize my device until I reboot the phone.
have you guys figuered out how to root the replinish yet??
I'm still trying. I don't think anything out there right now is going to work without doing some coding and I'm not a coder. Anyone know what irc channels I can hit up for some tips on the android exploits used for rooting?
This may help or not get closer to root.
To boot into Android Recovery Hold U down while powering on....or do 'adb reboot recovery' (requires android sdk tools)
If you hold down Q while powering on you get some verbose output instead of the first www.samsungmobile.com screen.
If you power down then hold Q while you plug in you charger you'll get some verbose output on right below the battery icon.
Bootloader appears to be Little Kernel based. Anyone have experience with that?
you guys think Gingerbreak might work?
bump ttt....

I have my replenish rooted, here's the files.
Extract KMS.zip
Remove SD Card
run PrevailToExistence.bat
Done
KMS will root this phone, run the bat and follow the directions, after you unmount the sdcard and enable usb debugging its best to reboot the phone. seems to have teh highest success

I'm new to this, so let me see if I have this process down:
I hookup my Replenish to the PC without the SD card.
I transfer PrevailToExistence.bat to the device (where/which folder)?
I run the file within the device.
Is there anything else that needs to be done to root the device that most people would have already assumed to do?

Unfortunately this did not work at all for me. I have the drivers correctly installed because if I put an SD card in, I can read/write to the sd card from my wife's replenish. I did remove the SD Card before trying this & USB Debugging was enabled. This is the screenshot of what came up. Also why is it that this says its for the Samsung Prevail? Does this batch file also work for the replenish? Anyway take a look at the screenshot & tell me what I did wrong because I followed the above instructions with no success.
UPDATE*** I ran the batch file & rebooted the phone when the batch file said "waiting for phone to reconnect" while it was rebooting, the batch file continued to run and failed........BUT, after it rebooted, I ran the batch file again never disconnecting the phone and I finally had success. Thank you for this method but more detailed instructions would have made this as easy as it really is. Thanks.

I just tried your method, and was unsuccessful, I had my card unmounted, usb was in debug mode. maybe there was something else you had to do?
update: I pressed space to continue as I powered on my phone, and it worked fine, many thanks to everyone!
Worked on a coworkers Replenish, here's what I did to make it work:
0. Did not install drivers (I already have samsung captivate drivers and samsung transform drivers from rooting previous phones, so the phone was already recognized)
1.Unzipped KMS.zip on my computer.
2. Put phone into USB Debug mode. Plugged in USB cable.
3. (Phone is currently on) Removed SD card.
4. Ran bat file.
5. Received errors identical to those screencap'd by PRBajista above.
6. Powered phone off (left it plugged in).
7. Powered phone back on.
8. After the boot logo, but before the lock screen came up, I ran the bat file again.
9. Bat file ran sucessfully, phone rebooted by itself and was rooted.
I'm guessing the correct process for rooting this phone is to do exactly what I did (install drivers for step 0 if you don't have already), except skip step 4 and 5.
seems very coordinated... what if I have bad reflexes? (in other words, no other way to root?)

Its pretty easy push the power button in thenphone and hit the spacebar about 5-10 seconds later

Yep, worked perfectly for my replenish too--I simply had to get the samsung drivers and then run the program right as the samsung logo came up after rebooting.
QUESTION: Anyone know how to UNROOT the Replenish?
Worked for me!

[Q] mid7016

is anyone working on a rom for 7016, been playing with it for a couple days trying to get it rooted and nand is locked and haven't found anything on how to unlock them, so i can use some of the root programs and install market on it, if anyone has an idea on a root that will work let me know and i will test it
The instructions for getting the Android Market on the 7015 works for this model as well - there is a youtube video that steps through it (search "How install android market on coby Kyros 7022" since I can't post outside links.
I'm having a couple of issues and am looking for a solution - will post in a new thread if I need to. 1) I was able to find the apk for Adobe Flash 10.3 but it doesn't seem to work in the native browser (can browse to you tube but then the videos pop open in another app but on other pages like blogs, etc the video graphic never appears). 2) I can't seem to get this thing to mount an SD card. I bought it primarily to let my son watch movies on it but the native 4GB isn't gonna get me very far. I've tried a 2GB that I had laying around and then went and picked up another SanDisk 8GB. Both are formatted FAT32 and can be read by Windows but as soon as I pop it in , I get the "SD card safe to remove" message.
Just wanted to point out that I stumbled on accessing the add-in flash card.
I reformatted the flash card using Windows, inserted in the device, and then had to power cycle the 7016. The way that they partition the internal memory creates an "SD Card" folder. When you insert an SD card you will get a TFlash folder as a sub directory of that. (not sure yet how you would access a USB flash drive if connected)
After days trying to find a way to root the Coby Kyros 7016, I've finally found a way to install the market!
Neither z4root nor gingerbreak worked with it. I don't think there's a way to root it, at least not now.
But you can install the market (which I guess is the main objective, at least mine was) in a very simple way.
Download the file using the following w w w . 4shared . com / file / 7tR6y6AB / Market . html.
Put them into your tablet.
Open APK Installer and install all of them in this order: OneTimeInitializer.apk, SetupWizard.apk, GoogleServicesFramework.apk and Vending.apk.
Turn your tablet off and turn it on again.
A window saying "Complete action using" will appear, mark "Use by default" and choose the "Launcher".
I hope it helps!
PS: I've heard it works also on the MID7020.
But until now rooting, nothing yet ! any sugestion ?
the final & best answer
after hard work and a lot of trials here is the solution ............... it is superoneclick 2.2 from shortfuse.org ..... and then make shell root then root and it will be rooted

Confirmed working! Just did it three different tabs!
Root confirmed on Coby Kyros MID7016
confirmed root, with SuperOneClick 2.3.3 on Windows 7.
allowed drivers to automatically install (all but the android gingerbread installed)
in superoneclick, check for drivers, and allow to force install driver for android gingerbread (check to see if recognized by adb via 'adb devices')
-at this point, i disconnected the kyros from my laptop, and then reconnected, and then checked in adb again.
then shell root.
then root.
done.
confirmed rooted, working, with superuser app.

[Q] Optimus V, Gingerbreak "application not installed"

Okay, I did search multiple threads that indicated "Application not installed", but none of them appear to have anything to do with gingerbreak, nor this particular phone.
I've followed the steps (at least the very few at the beginning) according to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1197991
GingerBreak-v1.20.apk is on the phone's micro SD card.
Using the file manager app, I navigate to the SD card, see the Gingerbread apk and click on it...I get the message:
"Do you want to install this application?
Allow this application to:
(yellow triangle with exclamation point) System tools
read system log files"
So I click "Install".
It goes to the installing screen with the progress bar for all of about 1 second and then immediately I get a screen that says "Application not installed" and the only thing I can do from there is click Done.
I've rebooted the phone at least 15 times. Same result every time.
Phone info: Virgin Mobile, model number VM670.
Android Version 2.2.1
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9
Build Number FRG83
SW Version VM670ZV4
HW Version 1.2
So that's where I'm stuck. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Dave
Try downloading a different version of ginger break, I used it on my optimus v and it installed fine, look on fourshared there is a lot of different versions of ginger break
NookColor ICS 9 Nightly "Overclocked"
I assume that you mean try using Gingerbreak v1.1 or 1.0, yes? didn't those have bugs to fix or something like that?
So I downloaded v1.1 and that appears to have installed properly. Superuser now appears in my applications. Now to move on to the rest of the process...I'm sure there will be more questions to come!
Sorry for late reply but yes that's
Wat I meant for version, seem like u got it working

Thanks, believe me I appreciate any reply at all. Of course, as I mentioned, I figured there would be other "issues". Now that I have installed gingerbreak, I'm trying to move on to the next step, that being I'm trying to copy the recovery image and flash image GUI app to the sd card from my computer. Unfortunately, ever since gingerbreak got installed, now my computer doesn't seem to recognize something with the phone. When I connect it to the computer via usb I get the little pop-ups that say Found New Hardware, Mass Storage USB Device, blah blah blah. But then when I click on my computer it's not listed...I just see "Removable Disk (E)". I double click on that and it tells me to insert a disk into drive E. I've reinstalled the LG driver, restarted the computer, rebooted the phone...same thing every time.
GRRRR! Frustrated.
I also tried downloading the cyanogen7 and gapps .zip files directly from the phone's browser but they both gave me a message indicating the download failed because the content is not supported on this phone.
I wish I could help you but i don't have an answer to that, if I were you I would ask that question in the lg optimus v forum, people there no that phone like they made it, good luck to you
NookColor ICS 9 Nightly "Overclocked"
no worries, thanks again for even replying...fortunately I used my brain for once and remembered I could just use a microSD to SD adapter...then put that in my regular USB card reader and copied the files directly onto the microSD card.
Continuing on...we'll see how it goes.....

I need help figuring out how to root a RCA RCT6077W22 tablet. It has Android Jellybean 4.1.1- v1.0.1, 8GB built in storage, 1GHZ processor, Google apps installed, kernel is [email protected]#132.I'd like to try to root it from the tablet itself if not I'm familiar with SuperOneClick as I've used it for my Samsung Galaxy S 4G before I should it. If it comes to that option I need to be able to use a rooting program on my computer that does not require internet the only internet I am able to use is the libraries. I have a laptop but no charger so my laptop is dead. I'm not a noon when it comes to rooting as I've mentioned I've done it before. Just need help finding a root for this tablet. I appreciate any help I get and thank you. If you need more info feel free to ask. I've also looked at the topic about the 4GB but its not that helpful is why I created my own topic.

I was able to root it by first installing the pdanet drivers (for adb access). And then using the kingo app, which you can get from http://www.kingoapp.com/.
Its free but closed source. I found it via this youtube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MiZtZCqu4k
Worked even with the 1.0.2 update installed (which I have no clue what it did (17MB).

how are you turning on usb debugging? I also have this tablet(purchased on black Friday from Walmart like everyone else) and mine doesn't seem to have that option anywhere. in fact, compared to the previous two android products I have, this device seems to lack ALOT of available functions. though I am capable of navigating a recovery menu at boot. but that doesn't do me any good for using pdanet. that seems to be my biggest road block. pdanet wont install because the onl;y way I can allow my device to connect to my pc with adp is using the adp updater in the recovery boot menu.

It is a hidden option that needs to be enabled. Follow this guide: www ninjaromeo com / enable-usb-debugging-developer-options-jelly-bean/
I just enabled this option on my Walmart BF 7" RCA RCT6378W2 tablet.
Sorry I had to mangle the link because XDA wont let me link external sources yet.
Glad I could help a few. Now, someone get on a functional recovery ;p
I have poked around a little at the stock recovery, backing it up, etc.. But am not brave enough to try and get CWM working on it.
I was able to use th Xposed framework for a few mod's no problem. Battery mod, reboot menu, hide navbar, etc.. But Xposed can only do so much.
Edit: I heard on reddit this tool also works for rooting. I have not tested it (already rooted with the other method).

im not down with kingo, too risky! gonna try impactor. i will report back soon :fingers-crossed:
---------- Post added at 09:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:15 PM ----------
1: Install drivers. Seeing as RCA does not provide drivers, we had to find some that work. That's where PDANET comes in. Their drivers support a very wide range of Android devices. We are not installing it to tether. We just want the drivers it provides. So download PDANET, install, let it detect your device, install the drivers, and then afterwords you can uninstall it.
2: Enable Developer Options. Settings>About tablet> Tap Build Number a bunch of times till it's enabled.
3: Enable USB Debugging. Options>Developer Options>Click On (up top)>Then checkmark USB Debugging
That should clear up some of the confusion in this thread. How you root after step 3 is up to you. Personally, I did it with Kango. Which was straight forward. Connect device, hit a button, Say yes to a couple questions, reboot, presto done.

Thanks, that sorted things out.
To make clear, and aid in any other inquiries, I managed to find an ADP connection mode, among other android update features. with the device off, hold volume up while turning the device on. it should boot to an image of an android with an open chest panel and the words, "no command". if you push volume up again it will provide you with options and instructions on how to execute. you can manual update the device with an SDK through USB ADP mode this way. I'm not sure if that makes anything simpler or generates a work around but I hope it helps with future development for this device.
Well got root now we need a recovery...
For some reason when trying to make sure I can send adb commands to my tablet, I am showing no devices connected. I check in device manager and it shows up as Android ADB interface for the tablet. These drivers were installed with the latest version of PDANet. Thoughts or how were you all able to get the drivers fully loaded and working? I have developer options already enabled and USB debugging mode is checked.
Info: RCA RCT6378W2 Tablet
Android 4.2.2
Kernal 3.0.36+
PDANet+ 4.12
Windows 7 64 Bit (I also tried it on my windows 7 32 bit computer)

You need to create "adb_usb.ini" in "Users>Username>.android".
Inside "adb_usb.ini" insert "0x2207" and save.

I had this problem too. make sure you're using the most recent version of pdanet. for whatever reason the older version just hang there and dont work right.
Installed the latest pdanet. It wont install the driver. I checked the device manager and it still shows the device without the driver. not sure what else to try..
