[Q] RCA 7" 8GB Tablet - General Questions and Answers

I need help figuring out how to root a RCA RCT6077W22 tablet. It has Android Jellybean 4.1.1- v1.0.1, 8GB built in storage, 1GHZ processor, Google apps installed, kernel is [email protected]#132.I'd like to try to root it from the tablet itself if not I'm familiar with SuperOneClick as I've used it for my Samsung Galaxy S 4G before I should it. If it comes to that option I need to be able to use a rooting program on my computer that does not require internet the only internet I am able to use is the libraries. I have a laptop but no charger so my laptop is dead. I'm not a noon when it comes to rooting as I've mentioned I've done it before. Just need help finding a root for this tablet. I appreciate any help I get and thank you. If you need more info feel free to ask. I've also looked at the topic about the 4GB but its not that helpful is why I created my own topic.

Did u figure out how to root your rca tablet....I have one and I need mine rooted also I can't store any apps on my ad card

Can you give more specifics such as the the model number, what version of android is it running?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app

I have the rct6378w2 RCA 7' 8GB tablet (4.2.2 JB). (Black Friday 2013 Walmart for $49)
I was able to root it by first installing the pdanet drivers (for adb access). And then using the kingo app, which you can get from http://www.kingoapp.com/.
Its free but closed source. I found it via this youtube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MiZtZCqu4k
Worked even with the 1.0.2 update installed (which I have no clue what it did (17MB).

I cannot get pdanet to get the drivers. I cant find any drivers anywhere. Pdanet says to click ok after connecting, and it just says no android device found..I think there's an error box too.. I don't know how to fix it. I also have the tablet from the black friday event. Exact same one. Also, I have USB debugging on...
UPDATE: I found out the problem! The support files weren't in the root file I had the .exe in. I just moved the .exe to the same folder with the support files, and now I'm rooted and ready! Thanks!

how are you turning on usb debugging? I also have this tablet(purchased on black Friday from Walmart like everyone else) and mine doesn't seem to have that option anywhere. in fact, compared to the previous two android products I have, this device seems to lack ALOT of available functions. though I am capable of navigating a recovery menu at boot. but that doesn't do me any good for using pdanet. that seems to be my biggest road block. pdanet wont install because the onl;y way I can allow my device to connect to my pc with adp is using the adp updater in the recovery boot menu.

It is a hidden option that needs to be enabled. Follow this guide: www ninjaromeo com / enable-usb-debugging-developer-options-jelly-bean/
I just enabled this option on my Walmart BF 7" RCA RCT6378W2 tablet.
Sorry I had to mangle the link because XDA wont let me link external sources yet.

Glad I could help a few. Now, someone get on a functional recovery ;p
I have poked around a little at the stock recovery, backing it up, etc.. But am not brave enough to try and get CWM working on it.
I was able to use th Xposed framework for a few mod's no problem. Battery mod, reboot menu, hide navbar, etc.. But Xposed can only do so much.
Edit: I heard on reddit this tool also works for rooting. I have not tested it (already rooted with the other method).

I was not drunk when I made this post...I have the RCT6378W2 if you go to about tablet in your settings and repeatedly tap the build number...the deveolper options will appear...I fell out of my seat when i discovered this.
On a side note...if you repeatedly tap the android version...a cute picture of the android jellybean will appear. Try it.

1: Install drivers. Seeing as RCA does not provide drivers, we had to find some that work. That's where PDANET comes in. Their drivers support a very wide range of Android devices. We are not installing it to tether. We just want the drivers it provides. So download PDANET, install, let it detect your device, install the drivers, and then afterwords you can uninstall it.
2: Enable Developer Options. Settings>About tablet> Tap Build Number a bunch of times till it's enabled.
3: Enable USB Debugging. Options>Developer Options>Click On (up top)>Then checkmark USB Debugging
That should clear up some of the confusion in this thread. How you root after step 3 is up to you. Personally, I did it with Kango. Which was straight forward. Connect device, hit a button, Say yes to a couple questions, reboot, presto done.

Thanks, that sorted things out.
To make clear, and aid in any other inquiries, I managed to find an ADP connection mode, among other android update features. with the device off, hold volume up while turning the device on. it should boot to an image of an android with an open chest panel and the words, "no command". if you push volume up again it will provide you with options and instructions on how to execute. you can manual update the device with an SDK through USB ADP mode this way. I'm not sure if that makes anything simpler or generates a work around but I hope it helps with future development for this device.

Well got root now we need a recovery...

For some reason when trying to make sure I can send adb commands to my tablet, I am showing no devices connected. I check in device manager and it shows up as Android ADB interface for the tablet. These drivers were installed with the latest version of PDANet. Thoughts or how were you all able to get the drivers fully loaded and working? I have developer options already enabled and USB debugging mode is checked.

You need to create "adb_usb.ini" in "Users>Username>.android".
Inside "adb_usb.ini" insert "0x2207" and save.

I had this problem too. make sure you're using the most recent version of pdanet. for whatever reason the older version just hang there and dont work right.

Installed the latest pdanet. It wont install the driver. I checked the device manager and it still shows the device without the driver. not sure what else to try..

[Q] Obtaining root on generic tablet

Ok I've got a generic tablet from Walmart, the DOPO MD-740. It's running ICS 4.0.3. I've been in contact with customer service about this thing, and while they're friendly and courteous, they really don't know anything about their product. According to their lead tech "there is no recovery or download mode".
Headache.
Well fooling around with this device, I've found.... SOMETHING....
While holding the volume up button at the same time as the power button, it boots straight to one single image, shown below. I have a feeling it's the download mode. Whatever it is, it's progress. Can anyone recognize what I got into? It's not a fatal error-- when I hit the reset button and reboot the tablet normally, all is fine.
I've tried to reboot into recovery via adb but I get the message that the command is not allowed. And of course, su is not allowed either.
Anyone have any suggestions on running adb on my computer... what process I would need to follow to manually root an ICS tablet? Would I just follow the same steps as I would in manually rooting a gingerbread device, or is there different lines of code I would need to use for ICS?
As for what device the kernel for THIS device has been ported from (it's obviously emulating something that has a magnometer which this unit doesn't have, etc...)... tech support doesn't know that either. The only clue I have that MIGHT help (other than the kernel version, build number, etc... all this is documented in another post, if anyone cares to take a look) is the FIRST boot image is of the penguin.
I would appreciate ANY feedback/information/advice anyone could offer in progressing with this "adventure"!
Thanks
Well with another twenty minutes of blindly pressing buttons I've found the recovery mode. From the screen displaying the android with the open panel (which I have concluded is NOT the download mode), pressing volume up, back, and power at the same time opens the recovery mode. The recovery is:
Android system recovery <3e>
Recovery system v4.00
No option to apply zip from sd, I guess this is to be expected on a stock device.
hi
in application select usb debug mode
install from unknown sources
connect to pc and run DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT
should work
regards
fred
didn't work.
After adb started successfully, sat for two hours and did nothing.
hi
are you using windows ?
is it reconized by windows ? do you have the drivers installed ?
ich processor use that tablet ?
Yeah I'm running Windows Vista, and my PC does recognize the device when it's connected (says drivers have been installed properly when connected under USB debugging mode, no problem transferring files in USB mode)
It's the ARMv7 processor
The device is recognized as Full ASOP on Rk29sdk
I've run across a new problem, which might actually be the main issue of the WHOLE problem. I was trying to push some files with adb from my laptop and it came to my attention that the driver for my device only acknowledges it as a mass storage device, even when the tablet is NOT mounted for mass storage. SOOOO... I guess I need a driver that will allow me to use adb. Any suggestions?
did you try with the drivers package from sdk ?
yup. Even gone as far as uninstalling the adb and sdk programs I had on my pc, downloading the newest versions and reinstalling. My computer "recognizes" the divice, but only as folders. Even when it's not mounted as mass storage.
STILL having te driver issue. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fnd a driver that will work with adb?

How did I root my “Full AOSP Rk29sdk”-MID 7-inch tablet (Android 4.0.3)
Hi Wingnut79 and others,
I have an Android 4.0.3 Tablet 7 inch, named "Full AOSP Rk29sdk" - and was also eager to root it....
After hours of search, trial and error, I succeeded.
My tablet is now fully rooted, and I can use ROM manager and all the aps for rooted android-devices....
How did I do that ?
I explain it here, in the attachment...
As you can see, my Windows is in the Dutch language, so I nevertheless hope everyone can understand what to do where...
I hope this can help...
Make sure it's not a Chinese Apad!
Make sure it's not a Chinese Apad! If u go on ebay u will see tons of tablets with ics 4.0.3. but the android on it it's a modified and weird version. I doublt it even is ics. One of my friends have it, and he cannot use the App Market, bcuz it said "Device not compatible with Market". Did u successfully downloaded stuff form the Market? If not, that maybe it's a piece of Chinese crap and u should call walmart for a refund.
It downloads apps from Android Market, Getjar, Amazon etc... just fine.
BAUDI--
I will try this later this afternoon, is it going to be an issue that my laptop OS is windows vista?
Mine tablet is a chinese tablet - but it's clearly really Android 4.0.3.
So, I also download and install applications from Playstore /Android Market/ etc.
It has Wifi, Bluetooth, 3G, GPS-AGPS, FM-radio,.... and evrything works really fine.
My sole problem was: no rootaccess (what I didn't understand, because it's "Android Open Source Project"...?)
Wingnut79,
as far as described in the guide I refer to, it works equally well on Vista. Just sometimes a little bit other name or place to find the properties or so - but should not be a problem at all.
I forgot to insist on the need to kill and restart adb after each change. I am not sure its really necessary each time, but I experencied that when I first thought "again nothing", it seemed well to work after "adb kill-server" and then "adb start-server"....
At some steps (I can't remember wich) I even rebooted my PC....
Now, everything works immediately...
So ROM Manager etc. works well, I have SuperUser... etc .
Good luck!

Just because it says it is 4.0.3 doesn't mean its pure AOSP. Remember that the China gov has its hands into a lot and there are things that they like to install on their devices to monitor the users and then close it up so it can't be changed.

I tried this and it worked. I got root on my device thanks alot for the guide.
Now to the real problem. I have two identical devices (rk29sdk). One is not booting and I can't manage to reset it.
My idea is make a full backup of the working device and somehow install it on the other one (the broken).
How can I do that - when I try to connect with adb it says:
Code:
C:\Windows\system32>adb devices
List of devices attached
0123456789ABCDEF device
Then this
Code:
C:\Windows\system32>
C:\Windows\system32>adb backup -apk -shared -all -f /backup/mybackup.ab
adb: unable to connect for backup
So it sees the device but I can't backup?
[edit]Now I connect to the device, the 'adb reboot' command works and the device responds. it's just the backup command that is not working.
Please help

Android Maxell Maxtab C8 MID Tablet Google Play Fix

So here's how I did it:
Basically, with an Cortex A8 processor, the Maxell C8 tablet seems to be a slightly upgraded Allwinner A10, which is a bit cheaper than the Maxell tablet but then again Maxell really did package theirs nicely in terms of casing. But it's no secret - when you plug in the Maxell C8 with Windows 7 it shows clearly that it's a MID tablet. So essentially, my theory is that this method should work on all similar tablets such as Allwinner A13,A10 etc (although many of those come with preinstalled google play, as China, like me, doesn't give a **** about copyright). For reference, my tablet is running Android 4.0.4
Step 1. Root your tablet.
This took me a few times to figure out but this program called "Android Root Unlock" finally did it for me. You can get it from Source Forge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidroot/
Enable USB debugging (settings > developer options > Usb debugging). Then just connect your tablet to your PC via USB, wait until Windows recognizes the device. It should read "MID" in the device manager screen. The unpack the zip file you downloaded above on your Windows machine and run "ICS_Root_Unlocker.bat" it while the tablet is still plugged into USB. A black terminal window will open, just follow the instructions from there. Your tablet will restart - that means it probably worked, don't close the program yet but follow what it says to the end until the terminal window closes. Now you can unplug your device.
Step 2. Install modded Google Play
Now you can go ahead and follow the instructions on xda-developers.com:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1650116
That's it! Google play now works like a charm and I can download stuff directly from Google Play without problems
Here's my full blog post: http://truthtech0.blogspot.com/2013/03/android-maxell-maxtab-c8-tablet-market.html
Thanks for your efforts, I'll give it a try. I was going to try Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry, but as you've confirmed it works, I'll use Android Root Unlock.
I think it's running Jelly Bean, it's my dads tablet. I'll see him tomorrow.

Anyone managed to install either a recovery image or a custom rom on the maxtab?
I've rooted mine but cannot get fastboot to work and unable to load a recovery image. Adb is working OK. Tried clockworkmod but device is unsupported.

Hi, thank you for your guide.
Unfortunately i'm unable to complete it because when i connect the maxtab c8 to a windows 7 system it doesn't find the MID driver so the root bat doesn't find the device.
Do you have any hint in how to complete the procedure?
Thank you.

Thanks for the hint; I was able to execute the bat file but i still have some problems.
The procedure looks like complete but if I open Root Explorer and try to do some changes in \system\app it just tell me that it's in read only mode.
Tried root check pro and it's all red...
superuser installed
sbin/su: permission denied
system/bin/su: no file
system/xbin/su: Setuid attribute present and root user ownership present. Root access is correctly configured for this file! Executing this file can grant root access!
system/xbin/sudo : no exsist
su binary not found or not operating correctly
Tried to run the su file in system/xbin/su as a script on the tablet and via adb without any changes. Checked a bit online but i'm a bit stucked since my other android device (lg p500) was much easier to root.
If you have any idea i't will be very helpful. Thank you.
Ok solved.
To easy root the maxtab c8 (android 4.1) i used the RK29 tab tolkit v1.3: easy and fast.
Now i have problem installing the play store...
I followed the guide but since i don't have any Vending.apk or phonesky.apk in system/app i just copied it without a backup, rebooted but nothing happened.
Need more testing.
Ok play store installed and working.
I didn't use the apk linked in the first post, i had to use this one instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934441
The method is the same (copy in system/app, set the permission as rw-r--r-- and then reboot) just use the apk i linked.
Hope this help someone.:victory:

Polaroid 9 inch tablet

i picked up the polaroid 9 inch internet tablet (pmid920 model number) for $88 bucks today from menards that came with a keyboard and the case and the tablet. I dinked around with it for a bit doesn't seem to bad besides not having the android market, im ok with the tablet seems decent for the price and the basic needs i will be using it for. But when searching the internet I can't find a single review or a guide to root it or any custom roms. Has anyone else purchased this tablet on black friday? or heard good or bad things? Any help how i could get root and flash a rom or atleast get play market? Thanks guys.
specs:
android 4.2
1.6 Ghz Dual-Core
Ram: 1gb/DDR3
Res:1024x600
Int Mem: *gb
Ext Mem: Micro Sd
I picked one up as well and also have been un able to find any info on how to root it or install Google play.
polaroid pmid920
I also got one today but im hesitant to open it without reading a good review. How is the performance? Is it sluggish or does it respond well? I also just bought a sansung galaxy tab 3 7.0 and im disappointed because of how slow it is. Can anyone confirm the response of this tablet? I want to be sure thid time before I regret openning the bix. I searched for other sites and it doesnt seem to be one of the recognized models by android. Thats probably why theres no google play.does it allow installation of apps from other sources? Thanks for any review ir response!
I got a similar deal yesterday; Insignia Flex 8
Having the same problem with rooting. Seems like not many people try with these budget tablets.
What chip is it running?
I wonder if it's similar to the flex and maybe the same method will work for both?
PMID920 Root ?

Please do! I want to try it on the flex.
Try su in a terminal and make sure it works. Though I think you should be good root checker reports ok.
Root files
I take no credit for these programs and files
I used the modded usb windows drivers in file below to install
the drivers for the PMID920
I used Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v32 to root the device
selecting option one, and following the on screen instructions
it did not take the first time around, I tried every selection I could
I even un rooted via all methods, but every time it said success
I would check with root check pro and after about the 8th time the damn thing worked.
Try selection ( 1 new ) from the get go, maybe you wont have an issue like me
it kept looking for an ric file, but it would not create it, it seems to have worked
after I created the file.
Now we need recovery, google play, 4.4 kitkat, just messing !
Please post your results.
Edit; got gapps installed, this things turning out to be alright.
needs gps though !
Show some love and hit the thanks.
Seemed to Work for me on the first time.
Have you found any custom roms with Google play and the stock apps that work on it?
How did you guys get it to recognize your device?
Every time I try, it says "Please connect Device with USB Debugging to your computer"
My tablet is connected, with USB debugging on

Yeah, well, I just installed DPInst in the folder. Was there something else I should do?
Google play works
Google play works great with the stock ROM!
1 root device as above.
2 download JB gapps, unzip it on your PC and copy the system folder over to this device sdcard/download folder
3 find and install root explorer, copy apk to device and install, run it and click parent folder until you are in root directory
now click read write, instead of read only on the top left to give it permission to write files, navigate to sdcard/download where
the JB gapps system folder was copied, click copy with root explorer as paste it in your root directory where the system folder is,
it will ask you if you want to merge the folder click yes and let it finish, once done reboot your tablet and you will be prompted
to set up a Google account.
You now have Google play, Google tts, calander, voice search, gmail and a brand new toy!

What device are you trying to root the tablet from,
From a windows device you download and extract the USB driver files
you may need to run the driver setup as administrator, after install check
and see if you have adb device in control panel, system manager, it should not
have an exclamation sign on it, if you need lead device to driver folder.
Also try another USB port, and try to unplug the device and plug it back in when the program is looking for it.
Im returning mine, as i found at walmart they had a 10.1" tablet for $99 that had good reviews on amazon. This tablet seemed to be hit or miss for the 7 inch version after finding reviews on amazon. awesome that it was found how to find root, i just couldn't stand the screen as it seemed u had to be straight on with it or it was hard to see. for a extra $11 i figured i'd return in to menards and go with the 10.1" tablet. Here is the link for it.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/TRIO-Stealth-G2-10.1-Tablet-Dual-Core-with-16GB-Memory/26973760
any info on this one?
Is there any dedicated sites for tablets? as xda seems clearly for mobile devices..

I got this tablet just last night. I truthfully wouldn't mind if it couldn't access the market, except that the stock youtube player on the device doesn't seem to be able to play playlists, just single videos, it won't auto-play any playlists.
I've downloaded the android market (Gapps-2.3.4.zip) on the device and installed it, but whenever I try to open the market, it asks me to add an account, and clicking yes just closes back to the main screen.
I tried Lionideas (sp?) steps, downloading both the root by recovery and usb driver. I installed dpinst-32bit.exe, as well as running adb.exe (wasn't sure if both were necessary, or if any further steps are necessary.)
After that, I enabled USB debugging on the device (there's a notification on the top status bar that it's running), connected it to my PC, and ran the runme.bat file. Selecting option one, it tells me to connect a device with usb-debugging enabled, and halts there...as far as I can tell I've followed the steps, can anyone enlighten me?

[Guide][Root] - Nextbook NX007HD

I recently got one of these, I imagine quite a few people did (sale this year on em), and could find no documentation on how to root it. Hopefully this hits google and will help all the other users out there! I did not make the software but gave it a go and it worked fine.
How to Root your Nextbook NX007HD
Google and download Cydia Impactor (First result on Google) Extract it (desktop, wherever you prefer)
Enable USB Debugging on your Tablet (Settings > Developer Options > USB debugging)
Plug up your Tablet via USB, do not turn usb storage on, let windows try (and most likely fail) at installing drivers.
Launch Impactor and select USB Driver Scan from the top menu (under USB). Let it do it's thing, reboot your PC after.
Verify your tablet/android device is showing up on the start-bar as being plugged up/in (bottom right area)(this may not be needed depending on your setup)
Relaunch Impactor (if rebooted ) and hit the Start Button
Let it do it's thing.
You should be rooted :victory: now go install SuperUser!
I should additionally note in my experience the SuperUser by ChaindsDD does not properly catch/work, but the one by CWM does.
Hope this helped everyone out who was slightly concerned when they couldn't find a root method someone else had tried/verified!
Thank You
I got the NX007HD cause it was on sale, before needing this one I head bought a tablet Craigslist and it WS already rooted.
I have never rooted before and tryed the one click root which didn't would and came across this and after spending all day trying to root it with or help it was done in under 10 mins I can't thank you enough.
P.S by any chance cukdu tell me how I could change the start up screen?

Do you know where I can find help to upgrade the firmware from 4.1.1 to any later version, or if this is even possible for this model?

Hello dannybz,
Last weekend I was able to install many apps on my niece's tablets, (Angry Birds, Hay Day, Google earth, Ninja Fruit cut) :good:
After rooting the tablet with the great instructions you found here, you have to install an app called: "Market Helper" and follow the instructions...
codekiem.com/2013/02/13/market-helper/
Then you can install many apps you want...
Hope it can help you... It helped me a lot.
(I did this on 2 tablets with Android 4.1... the original version that comes with the tablet)
Can you provide a dump of original rom for this tablet?
Been trying to get a hold of it since forever.

[Guide] HKC P771A-P776A Root!

(WORKING ON WINDOWS XP 100% WINDOWS 7 DOESN'T SEEM TO WORK, IF NEED USE A VIRTUAL MACHINE)
Seeing as it was REALLY hard to find out how to root a HKC Tablet, I'll make a simple yet clear guide for all P77 models ranging from P771A through P776A.
First you will need the rockchip drivers (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1468367&d=1352441606) After you download them extract the folder, inside right click the files for your OS and click install.
After you install the correct one for your OS reboot your computer.
Once it has restarted on your tablet go to settings and on the left bar at the bottom click Developer options > on the top now click the sliding bar that says off until it says on and click the little check box next to usb debugging, now plug your device into your computer via the usb wire and set your tablet down.
Now install kingo root (http://download.cnet.com/Kingo-Android-Root/3000-2094_4-75996768.html) After it is installed open the program and follow the on screen directions, if all goes well your device will reboot and kingo will say it was rooted successfully, do NOT unplug your device during this phase.
Once it has rebooted and kingo says that it was rooted you may remove the device and now you have a fully rooted HKC tablet
didn't work

I appreciate your effort in providing this answer. Unfortunately, after
some web research, it's exactly what I tried to no avail. The
driver would just not load and I couldn't even remove whatever
driver it thought was there in usb debug mode. I tried vista also.
same no result. I bought this cheap tablet just to play around
with rooting. I'll just chalk it up ti a failed experiment. The tablet
isn't bad as is considering its cheap price. I have other better ones.

a final word. looking at the reply i didn''t do exactly what the responder recommended. I actually did a shorter version where i browsed the computer for drivers in just 4 steps. when i did exactly what the response recommended and arrived at step 6, hit next, i got a new screen listing rockchip device types, rk27, rk28, rk29, etc.. all double listed for some reason. I think the hkc p771a is a rockchip 29xx single core device so I tried the two rk29 listings. when those didn't work i tried all the others. none worked. always said driver was not for this device. Thank you bill gates for your incomprehensible os. but, really, than you again to the responder.
New RockUsb 3.7 Drivers Working
I too had no luck with the drivers offered with the guide short install or long i got no where so i went on a search and found these drivers do work just install with have disk,

Sounds like terrenInc is saying this driver will install but kingo still won't connect. Probably not the right driver for this function. Nice try though.

I tried the default google driver that adb uses and I could install it but no luck with kingo attaching.
There are several sites where people discuss rooting from the pt of view of the chip set
rk29xx (rk2918 to be exact) and they had success with a few other tablets with same chip
Set. To be frank it was over my head.
I've been having personal issues, sorry for the late reply, drivers I provided have only been tested on windows xp and windows 8 using them along with kingo root was a simple process, I have not been able to get the drivers working on windows 7 after a fresh install, I'm not entirely sure why but the rockchip drivers don't allow the connection via debug on windows 7, I've tested this method 3 times and its worked 2 out of 3 windows 7 being the failure. installing the drivers on windows 8 was as simple as right click install reboot, windows xp were the same way, using the windows 7 method on fresh install however proved to be more complex, I've had it working on the old install of win7 but haven't been able to on my fresh install.
To make this simpler, I'll edit into the main post (KNOWN WORKING ON WINDOWS XP) if you can try windows xp it is a sure proof method I just tested on a new tablet since my last post using my guide, working 100% with the drivers I linked, on a side note if you can't get ahold on a windows xp computer use a virtual machine to install windows xp then just remove it once you're rooted
Cydia Impactor will root this device. Trying to install a custom recovery (CWM) right now. The tablet is not playing fair.
And I used Windows 7.

Won't install usb drivers
I have the hkc p776a tablet and I have done every thing this guide says and it won't work I have tried it on a Xp PC and a vista pc also and neither one works when I tried to install it on vista it says "this .inf file is not meant to be installed this way" and on Xp it does nothing. Could you do pics on how you went though the process of doing it. I know it is a lot to ask but if you did it would help me a lot. Thx and is there any other way of getting the usb drivers.
Finally! I got root! I realized my problem on XP. I need USB debugguing off to install tablet correctly, then turned on for rooting program to connect. Now kingo didn't work for me. It made screen go crazy until all I could do is reboot. But cydia impactor did it! Happy days. Good-bye Korean keyboard!
