I have installed that very blackberry connect 4.0.
in what language is the rom of vodafone Netherlands???? do you think it could be possible to install it on my spanish palm treo 750v????
can you navigate the net using the blackberry 4.0 rate???
thanks
The Vodafone Netherlands ROM is in english, you can install it on every Treo 750v (losing your spanish language of course). Seems that your ROM is too old to run 4.0, what's its version 1.12.a or 1.12.b?
Yes I can browse the internet via the new BlackBerry browser in the BlackBerry folder in the programs. With BB connect 2.1 you could only use the normal connection via your operators APN and the BlackBerry service stopped. Cool new features especially when you are on a BES!

when you say rom version, do you mean firmware??? if so, my firmware version is 1.12.0a.00
if not, where can I see the rm version???
if my rom version is too old, where can I donwload a newer vodafone rom version which let me use blackberry connect 4.0 properly???
other question is can you listen to the radio through the blackberry connection from your treo??
thanks buddy
Yes I meant the firmware version and yours is 1.12.a which is the first coming out for the 750v. As you have issues it seems that it can' t run BB connect 4.0. The newer Vodafone Netherlands ROM is easy to find in this forum, here is the direct link:
http://rapidshare.com/files/17764237/2007-02-15_Treo_750v_NL.rar
I never tried to listen to internet radio with the BB browser. I would not recommend that, quite sure that you have a 5MB limit or a similar one in your BlackBerry plan, could be an expensive experience

ok thanks,
with this nwe installation i suppose i will lose my warranty, right??? if so, do you kno how can I dump my own rom version and keep it safe just in case i would like to downgrade my treo???
I don' t know how to dump your old ROM, I guess you'll need the original spanish one. Maybe other guys can help here?
Before you flash the ROM: Did you install BB connect on the storage card? It should be installed in the device storage! Did you try a hard reset and then install BB connect again? Any other applications like Active Sync running to sync your contacts, calendar and so on?

I installed it on the device storage memory, not on the minisd card. but i didn´t try a hard reset before it, do you recommend it?
Well before flashing a new ROM without the option to switch back I would try everything to get it to work with the old one. Normally when the ROM does not fit the BB connect client you see that no PIN is generated (PIN pending or something like that). Or you have a PIN but as soon as the client connects to RIM the connection is stopped cause RIM does not accept your device ID.
If you never get a PIN or never a connection to RIM then its definitevely the wrong firmware for the 4.0 client.
Good luck.

it generates a correct PIN and IMEI, but it doesn´t connect at all, and it does not appear the blackberry icon which theorically would let me surf the net using my blackberry service rate. Its installation causes a problem on my today screen as i said before, becasue it makes disappear all the calendar, contacts options,... and when i go to the today-screen configuration it doesn´t let me check again calendar, contacts, owner info,... because they simply don´t exist, they don´t appear as an option, the only option you can check or uncheck is the date, nothing more
what do you think??

can anyone help to translate the upgrading instructions please?????
thanks
ok, don´t worry, I´ve just install the new firmware you told me and everything seems to be fine, except blackberry service 4.0. Now I don´t have the today-screen problem I told you before, the problem is that it does not connect and in the identity:
PIN: Pending
IMEI: Radio Off
IP address: NO connection
does anyone know how can I make it work???
thanks
After flashing the ROM (message "Update Success") you should first do a hard reset. Have you done that?
As you flashed the ROM you have lost your GPRS connection settings. Did you enter the Vodafone Spain GPRS settings in Start>Settings>Connections?
Also make sure by checking the task manager that no Internet Explorer or Active Sync are running in the background.

I just did a soft reset, i´ll try a hard reset right now
After installing BB connect 4.0 again, do a soft reset. Then make sure that the radio is switched on and check your GPRS connection settings. Then tap the BB symbol in Settings System. It will say "Preparing for first use" and after some seconds it will require another soft reset.
I have just hard reset my device and install balckberry connect 4.0 again, reboot it, but still PIN pending and IMEI Radio Off.
I have´t install de GPRS connection settings yet, is it compulsoy to make it work???
I use blackberry as a personal user, not for enterprise. But if I install the blackberry connect 2.0 it just work fine.
It works for BIS (personal Internet Service) and BES (Enterprise). I tried both with this 1.12.0.c firmware without any problems. When it asks for the PIM options (calendar, contacts, etc.) you have checked no checkbox, right? And the Treo is not cradled or connected to your PC via cable, right? And Active Sync or IE are not running in the background, right?

I´ve just followed your instructions, but nothing is resolved yet. The PIN is still pending and the IMEI Radio Off.
Are you on UMTS? Try to switch the band to GSM only.
And check if you really have this at Settings>About>Phone:
Software Version: Palm Build 7, HTC Version 1.16
Firmware Version: 1.12.0c.00
That' s the version which runs BB connect 4.0 without issues, I' ve seen a lot of other postings in other forums of other people using it.
Also make sure that your BlackBerry provisioning at Vodafone Spain is correct.
I followed directions to wipe everything as suggested in this post:

Was using Alfa 13 just fine, but on Alfa 17 I can not get cellular data to work. Confirmed my WAP settings are correct for my carrier.
My baseband it says its a i9020xxkf1 and everything else on the phone works. I can access the market, wifi works, account sync if i have wifi on. I have doubled checked every possible setting. But it will not bring up a data connection over the cellular radio. It even takes calls over the radio. Just no data connectivity.
Any suggestions or reasons why this is occurring? I can easily swap back to an older nandroid image of alfa 13, but I would really like to get on a new version etc.
(Also, I would have made this post in the right dev section, but i lack 10 posts to gain access to it.)
Have you tried removing and replacing your SIM card ?
Also, check if your data counter has a limit set on
You could also manually configure your APN settings with your carrier's settings
Unfortunatly I have done all of those things. It doesn't even attempt to connect to data. I sit at 4 or 5 bars of signal and it never even connects to EDGE/3g at all. Yet if I flip back over to my older image it works flawlessly.
i have also problem with version 17, but i can't post it to developer forum (newbie here)
problem is that i can't hook on any network, no calls no messegas, i'm using croatian tele2/t-mobile....sometimes it connects but still nothing, no calss etc.
also problem (not so much a problem but a solution) when i installed ROM it went to bootloop, all you have to do is remove battery and power up again, and voila, it works, same problem happened when i installed gapps (same solution worked, everything installed from CWM latest version)
there were also posts regarding cwm not stiking after installing cynogen, i had no problem with it, i have latest cwm 5.0.2.3 (think so), sticks like hell tried couple of roms, still sticking
cheers
I have the same problem here... ICS 4.0.3 and my 3G stopped to work.
also tried new 18 version, still no luck, i'm staying on cynogenmod 7 (GB), only ICS version that worked was MUI but i don't like it very much....

It has been messed around with a fair bit. Various methods have worked for different people. YMMV. I myself had such an issue with the stock FW (of all FWs...).
Hi,
I`ve succesfully installed RC3.1 as described in the thread elsewhere on these boards.
However, I do not have any mobile network coverage and cannot text or message.
I have updated the kernal as well, used the one on the same page as instructions for installing ICS.
Anyone have any idea how I can fix this or whats gone wrong? I like the look of Android 4, but its not much use without network coverage.
Many thanks
I`ve found this as a solution to the lack of mobile network, but I dont exactly understand what it means!
Could someone spell it out for me in with step by step laymens terms!
Just wanted to add that the 3g appears to be working since I am receiving emails through gmail via the phone.
My IMEI number is showig and it says mobile network state as connected.
Mobile Network type is UMTS:3
Under Service Status though it says `Out of Service`
Is there any way Orange would be able to block my phone been used with ICS? Because thats what it seems like. If I revert back to Gingerbread everything works again, but I like this ICS and would rather keep it if possible.
Thanks again for any advice
I'm having the same problem. 4.0.3 rc4.2 from sgssgs.
Hi guys,
I have a Sensation XE running ARHD 3.6.13 and I just noticed today that the phone is unable to see any networks on EU channels (11,12,13).
Is there a trick use these frequencies ?
Radio: 10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2
Up
Nobody is using these channels ?
I tried Virtuous 2.2.3 ROM and there is the same issue, unable to detect any wifi networks over channel 11.
Hi
Is this issue still not resolved?
Same problem here; my wifi not visible at all (channel 13)
Original stock ROM, was never modified, rooted, etc.
Android 4.0.3, software number 3.33.401.55, baseband 11.76C.3504.00U_11.29A3504.18_M
Can't seem to find any setting which could affect usable channels, changed country in "language & keyboard", but no effect.
Also did a factory reset, twice, no effect.
What could be the clue? Or is this some kind of "US"-model?
I have 4 different other HTC models, but they all can connect fine to channel 13! (stock ROM or not)
SOLVED
Solved.... well in my case at least...
After inserting my SIMcard channel 12 & 13 are visible. Yes the HTC original ROM gets this region-information from the SIMcard. This is aparently a normal procedure, but was unknown to me.
I usually use some phones without SIMcard first, to setup all privacy settings etc.
I have been using a Droid Mini for many years now, and am still quite happy with it. One of my few complaints, is that the radio does not play nicely with Canada's Bell/Telus LTE network.
I've used the versions in both 4.2.2 (doesn't hand off to HSPA properly after a call or MMS, repeated service drop-outs) and 4.4.4 (hand-off is fine, but LTE connection is started/lost many times a day regardless of signal strength). While the latter one is an improvement, there are other weird bugs that seem to come with 4.4.4 ("this SIM is from an unknown source" errors which randomly kill your connection, prompting to connect to WiFi when opening apps even if all available relevant settings have been disabled).
I know the radio firmware from the Moto X is compatible, but I have a few questions before I start toying with this as it is my daily driver:
Is it OK to flash the radio partition from a newer major version? (Lollipop radio to Kitkat)
Is MSM8960PRO_BP_23255.140.93.00R the best option available? What is included with the available CyanogenMod releases?
Is the radio partition the only one that must be flashed to support this?
What's the easiest way to backup the partition before I try to update it?
Does anyone know if there is a working repository for the XT1030's stock images?
