Resurrection Remix ics 2.6 issue - General Questions and Answers

Installed RR ics v 2.6 and it's great, no fc or anything so today I thought i'd put some of my notif/ringtone/alarm sounds onto my phone SGS2, first i created media/ringtones - notifications and alarms as you do but RR didnt pick any of the sounds up so I did it the slow way of using root explorer (yawn) copying them from sdcard to system/media/audio and re-name them all to .ogg which got really boring, is this the only way of doing it or have i missed something, the files where both .wav/mp3, thanks

[FIX-BT-A2DP][32A/B][08/26/2009]liba2dp.so(53.14 K)+libA2DP.so(9.12K)

Hello all,
I started this thread as I was testing myhero v1.0.0 and my BT doesn't plays music and on the myhero v0.1.0 it plays...
I've found on the folder root/system/lib 2 OS files for the A2DP, the liba2dp.so (53.14 K) and the libA2DP.so (9.12K) on the version that works!!! An the one that was missing on the version who doesn't work was the smaller one!!! In all you can also find the file libbluetooth.so and the liba2dp.so that they are mandatory for the your ROM starting...
Always use the Astro Explorer, Root Explorer or any other explorer and check the file system of your device to check what is the file missing.
Code:
adb remount
adb push libA2DP.so /system/lib/
-- or/and --
adb push liba2dp2.so /system/lib/
It was informed that the media by Bluetooth was working on Hero ROM's (32A and 32B too)!!
ATTENTION: In some ROM's the libA2DP.so is already there, as the liba2dp2.so too, like the myhero v.1.1.2 based on a Modaco's ROM, in this one, the files were there but the libA2DP.so had a different size. On this ROM the A2DP issue was fixed substituting the files. This also MAY be what is happening on other ROM's!
Thanks to all from making everything possible!
TOGETHER WE CAN EVERYTHING!!.
My best regards to all community..
Last update on 09/19/2009
worked for me! I will add the the ROM thread too
edit: I lied, you added it there already.
edit2: just push the small file to the device and music will work again (if you haven't already)
adb remount
adb push libA2DP.so /system/lib/
did you also try to rename libA2DP.so to liba2dp.so?
No renaming,
linux is case sensitive (as far as I know) and both files (liba2dp.so and libA2DP.so) were in the MyHero v0.1.0 ROM and BT was working.
I just pushed the missing file to MyHero v1.0.0 and bt was working again.
Completely possible that liba2dp.so is unrequired, I will pull it and see what happens.
EDIT: Ugh... I deleted liba2dp.so and rebooted, got stuck on initial splash screen... push the file back via the recovery mode, and I am STILL getting stuck at the initial screen...wtf... SIGH
does this fix the BT phone functions or just the Stereo Headset?
Phone function doesn't work for me when I do this. Just the music.

Is still not full BT support.. it just music (media) on the Bluetooth..
Some people answered that this features were placed on other ROM's, not only on myhero from redglasses.. but, I think this can be a plug to people compile a library that works on full, since there's so many others in other languages.. I'm not a programmer, but who is and read this mini-tread, understanding how this works maybe just be enough to start working on that.. If Bluex can do it as a app, why we can incl this as a normal process, or something..
Anyway, just ideas... I don't know really what I'm talking about...
Great found, I did this way and the music play on my SE HBH-DS200 work fine...
Simple much?
I'm sure this is way-over-simplified, but if this works, shouldn't there be a file in /system/lib from the previous builds that deals with phone audio that could be ported over and added/replaced? Just have to find it...

[28Jan]Ringtones dont stick on reboot
If your having problems with ringtones sticking on reboot, seems to be especially a problem for custom ringtones, create a new soundset with the ringtone in and that will sort it for ya thanks to malybru for the fix.
I want to know how to create a new soundset to fix ringtones in ICS on reboot with ARHD 6.2.1
Thanks

It's alright big thanks, it was so simple in fact.
Thanks a lot.
I presume that this is for Sense ROM as my senseless ROM doesnt have this option in settings.
Any idea how to create a soundset with a senseless rom?
I confirm it's for a sense rom i'm with arhd 6.2.1
don't know for senseless

Hi,
You can also stick the desired ringtone straight into:
system/media/audio/ringtone
Thanks for the replies.
Having copied the ringtone to the system folder I am still getting the default tone after a reboot
I'm facing same issue.
Created custom sound set with my ringtone included, but still after reboot, the default ringtone is selected. See my signature for more info.
make sure its the correct folder there is one that is incorrect. i had the same issue and found i placed them in the incorrect one
Hi everybody, i created a Sound Set but after rebooting or removing my SD Card it keep the main ringtone :/.
So it seems that everyone is only asking the same question with no real answer except for creating your own sound set... and even then people report that it's not working right. And what "correct/incorrect" folder are you talking about?
Found a fix
While trying to find a fix for a ringtones not staying after reboot, I found some info on another problem (custom ringtones disappearing when connected to USB as a hard drive), and the suggested fix worked for our problem!
I got it fixed by copying all the ringtones from sdcard/ringtones and sdcard/media/audio/ringtones into system/media/audio/ringtones (root access required), and changed the permission with the use of ES File Explorer or alike...

[Q] Front camera in Snapchat broken CM11

Hello,
I have CM11 installed on my htc one s, but the front camera doesn't work in snapchat; It does work in other apps, so is this a problem related to cyanogenmod not having the htc drivers or is this snapchat's fault? More importantly, is there a fix or a snapchat replacement app of some sort which enables the front camera?
Maybe try a newer release of CM 11
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
I'm on the latest nightly and it's still broken
Same issue
My camera is stretched and sometimes freezes but only in snapchat. Any ideas?

There is a temporary fix I have been doing since very early CM11 builds.
If you copy a "camera.msm8960.so" from another ROM (I took the one from a GUMMY ROM), and paste it into system/lib/hw (delete/overwrite the old one - may be in capitals "CAMERA.MSM8960.so and not overwrite so must be deleted manually) then the front camera works fine with CM11.
I have issue with my Galaxy S4 and have always done this after installing a new nightly and it has been fine. (Posting here as I was looking for a proper solution through Google searches and saw you are suffering with the same issue)

Why don't they include this file in official cm11? is it HTC owned (not opensource) or something?

Not sure if this is still an issue for the One S, but it still is for the S4. I just did this and it worked, but I wanted to mention I had to use the camera file from a 4.1 ROM to do so. Hopefully that helps someone else.

This is the file I use. Taken from an old nightly GUMMY ROM build for the Galaxy S4. It seems to work with every new CM11 nightly I install I so don't think it matters that the file is extracted from an older ROM.

This file works for me on my S4. I paste it into the /system/lib/hw directory after flashing the latest nightly. (you must DELETE the existing file manually as pasting this file into the directory DOES NOT delete the other file of the same name but in capital lettering)
Also, this does not a complete fix for the Snapchat camera issues. I am now able to record video with the front camera however a lot of the time it will still cause the app to freeze or camera to lock up - requiring a phone reboot. HOWEVER this is a lot better than not being able to record ANY videos at all (as it is normally with the CM11 ROMS)
EDIT: the file is extracted from an old GUMMY ROM nightly in the system/lib/hw directory. If this file doesn't work for you, you could try extract the file from other non CM based ROMS and see if if your problem is fixed.

Thanks man it really works for me after some tweaks :highfive:
I don't think you need the file "camera.msm8960.so" from another ROM .
Here is how I did it:
1) In the path system/lib/hw, there is two files "camera.MSM8960.so" (13KB) and "camera.vendor.msm8960.so" (210KB)
2) delete the file "camera.MSM8960.so", but copy its exact name with the capitals. This is important cuz I believe it is case sensitive.
3) rename "camera.vendor.msm8960.so" to "camera.MSM8960.so" which is the exact name of the deleted file
4) make sure the permissions are set as follows: "rw- r-- r--" which is short for read/write OWNER, read GROUP, read OTHER
5) open snapchat and go for video setting change qualiy to low. after that, record a video with front camera and send it to urself.
6) finally put the video quality back to standard and ENJOYYYY it should work for u.

Thanks for the build jrior!
I've been running 11/27 for a day now, very smooth and fast - too soon to say about battery life.
Just a heads up for anyone flashing - 11/28 and 11/29 the SD card doesn't work. On 11/27, you can't answer incoming calls and can't music over Bluetooth.
EDIT: No SD on 11/30 either.
Glad to see android lollipop on beautiful evita, thanks jrior001 ?

Working Dialer and SD
This information is for those who are having dialer force close issues with 27/11.
I was playing around this morning, and noticed on 20141130 the dialer was working fine, but the SD was not accessible.
I rolled back to 20141127 and installed the dialer from 20141130, and it worked! So far everything is working great.
On 20141127 in settings->apps->all->Dialer you will see version 5.0-20f4e4c951. 20141130 has version 5.0-e46feea897. This one works.
You need to backup and replace 2 files to do this:
Dialer.apk in /system/priv-app/Dialer.
libvariablespeed.so in /system/lib
Replace the files and fix permissions to -rw-r--r-- (same as replaced file). Reboot and try it.
Files are included in the zip, don't try to flash it.
Thanks jrior for bringing this awesome ROM to the Evita. If I am out of line here, just say so.

Also, the latest Google Camera works great on this ROM, and fixes the 'squashed' preview when taking 16:9 photos.

Remember that is only an Alpha release, dont expect that everyone here try the new releases for you, you always can do a backup of your actual ROM and install this one if something goes wrong you always can comeback.
I will test the 12/01 version I used the 11/27 version and only notice one bug when receiving whatsapp on my lock screen went crazy shaking and disappearing background if I try to view the notification if I just went home and open the application this problem didn't occur.
12/01 Sdcard still broke, testing a pending fix from cm crew shortly
tested 12/01 version external storage is not mounted
