Hi everybody,
I would like to present you my new app. If like me you forgot everything, I'm sure you will enjoyed it
It's called Goldfish Memory, so the goal is quite obvious It's a todo list, but a todo list mostly based on the location. I've noticed that when I've something to do, I know where to do it (at home, work, when leaving the subway, etc.) most than when to do it.
So with Goldfish Memory, when you create a new task you can set it a place and when you arrive at this place, you will receive an alert that you have something to do, whatever the time. Next, you can ask to be alerted again in 5 minutes or the next time you will come back to this place. It's quite simple and you can set any address you want.
As it's a todo list you can also simply define a date and hour at when you want to be alerted. If you combine both date and location, you will only be alerted when you arrived at the defined location, the day you've setted or, at the latest, at the hour defined.
It's a nice and simple app and I've just finished it so I would be happy if people try it and more if people like it ! Don't hesitate to give feedback (goods or bads) !
The app doesn't use GPS (too slow, not battery-friendly), only network location. The algorithm adapt itself to the current accuracy (which vary a lot) in order to find when to trigger a task. So don't worry, it will not drain your battery and it will work even inside buildings or underground.
The next fonctionnalities I've planned to implement are :
- synchronisation with some online todo list services (Google Tasks, RTM, etc...)
- add action buttons directly in the notification on Jelly Bean
- the possibility to repeat a task every days/weeks/months
- improve the algorithm for triggering a location-based task using the speed
- and more !
If you have other ideas, I would be glad to hear them.
It's free and on the Play Store so, if you are interested, you can try it now : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fourmob.geotasks
Great idea and app...but lets face it. GPS lock is slow on most devices and it kinda stops the whole purpose of this app. Now apart from that its a whole lot better then the paid apps that just give normal to do lists. Good job

Hi, thanks for your comment.
You're totally right, that's why I don't use GPS, only network location : always available and battery friendly. Accuracy isn't always great but I've made a small algorithm that adapts itself to the current accuracy. I tweak it regulary to improve it, it's also why I'm looking for feedback. I'm quite happy of it for now.

Great job, great idea, great design. :good:
Like gmaster1 said, its better than all paid apps I tried. Moreover, its free and without ads (very enjoyable).
Sometimes, Goldfish alerts me too far from the location I set. Not too bad because I snooze for 5 minutes later but it could be better! It would be interesting to accurate the position with real GPS fix. You can do this occasionally, randomly (with a heuristic) or thanks to an algorithm. What do you think about that ?

Due to the network location provider used by the app, accuracy can vary a lot (from 200/500m to 1500m) so, with my algorithm, the trigger radius varies with the accuracy. I prefer that the app alerts you too early that never. If it's too early, you can always snooze it like you said.
But I'm actively working on this part. In a future release, I think the app will sometimes turn on the GPS or Wifi in order to have a better accuracy. I'm still working on when to do that and it will be optional because I know a lot a people don't like that apps turn on/off sensors without asking. So, stay tuned
very good and user friendly design. I like the app and its very helpfull

Thank you very much !
To be user friendly its one of my main goals. I've tried a lot of todo lists and if I've ended up making my own it's also because they tend to have too much options. In the end, they are more organizers than todo list. But me, I only need a todo list. So : Goldfish Memory
I like the orange fonds but try using the Light theme which is a white backround. It may look better than the black. Or give the user the option to switch between several as I dont particularly like blackish backrounds

Why not. I will try it in a future release. Maybe an option to change the widget background too. Thanks !
Ok. Had it for 3 days now and no probs but...the widget. I feel it should be resizeable on ics (like fb widget on ics tablets) im not sure if this is too much to ask but its just that when i only have 1 task the rest of the space take up too much space i could use for other widgets. Maybe a small scrollable widget would be easier to make then resizable. So i can have the big widget when i need it and a small one when i want it. Or maybe widget buttons that keeps the widget small but changes current task the widget shows with 2 buttons. And maybe (just as a widget extra) add +task , delete task and edit task buttons for a better widget ui (the app ui its self is great)

Yes, the widget is definitly something that will evolve in future releases. But, it is already resizable. Do you mean that it should be more resizable horizontally ?
Scrollable widget is already planned. Concerning more actions directly in the widget, I will think on how to integrate that.
I've planned a new release for the end of the week, so I will try to add the widget stuff in the next one.
This is an amazing idea. I love the concept and design of it. I have never really use any task reminder app before, but if i want to use one, that will be this app.
Thanks for developing and sharing the app here

@oldsap :It was too beautifull : still no bug report
At which point it failed ? Are you using the quick task button or do you use the full form ? It's a strange bug because the only thing I can see now is that the app can't access to the internet (needed to make the translation from the coordinates to an human address). Do you have ICS with a quota for the network data ?
don't need this app. but came in to show support. this app looks so beautiful. awesome job on the design. flawless by the screenshots.

Initial impression is that its very confussing and difficult to use... it took me a while to work out what I was looking at. Don't get the widget folder as it negates what a widget is. I do like the potential concept, but this really needs a lot more thought into user experience.
To start with look at changing the folder controls to make them easier to select.
This is a very original approach and I'll going to watch this one with interest...

Often only shows black screen on HTC legend.
The dock icons are too big and there is hardly any customization possible.
But it is a really interesting idea and different from other launcher. I'll stay tuned.

Unless I'm missing something the only place to add widgets is in the folder at the top of the screen. This limited the use of widgets... for example if I add a 2x2 clock thats all I can see and use unless I expand the folder. This is compounded by the difficulty in using the folder controls. Widgets are supposed to provide quick and easy access and viewing of apps and info you use most, currently this is lost in Claystone... If you could make widget use a little more traditional it would go a long way...
Like I said previously though the whole user experience would be vastly improved if you added larger controls to the folders making it quick and easy to expand/close etc.
Like ms_green says the dock is a little large and it makes the screen feel a little cramped.
A very short review, sorry for being blunt:
* On my Droid Incredible: great, now applications are even smaller/hard to read. UI is not very responsive. Toolbar buttons are too small but making them any bigger would mean even less real estate.
* Tablet: Ooooh now you're talking! The layout makes much more sense, especially in landscape mode. This is actually getting closer to WebOs' take on multitasked UI.
I think this app has a great future on tablets.

This is great!!! VERY GOOD!!! the concept is amazing
things u might want to improve:
The loading speed of panels are slow. Even opening the appdrawer takes no less than 3 seconds, not to mention browser etc
When u scroll vertically but a bit sideways on a panel it just pops u into another panel, very excruciating
Panels. seriously, all u can have is a home panel and a widget panel? i want to make my own (not just folders) for example media, games etc
"items" u can add. to be honest all there is is file explorer, browser and youtube (not to mention the youtube one really sucks). U need more of these "items", but i understand this is a beta
lol no offense
I could see this possibly having potential on a bigger screen, like a tablet maybe. But as it stands things feel too cramped on my 3.7 inch screen. Also things are a bit slow atm.
It's an interesting concept, but implemented in a moderately confusing fashion. The widget box resizes widgets oddly, making things look bulky, etc.
Great idea, though.
Opening the inbuilt contacts force closes the app for me.
But apart from that, a brilliant concept! I can't wait for new additions! Great job

You can create more panels ("folders") as well, you can copy and paste any item in any panel. In our next drop we are going to make it simple by adding applications to the "create" menu.

I'm finishing a 2 month polishing in my app suite (D'Clock Live / Gold / D'Watchmaker) and I'm in final pre release phase.
The app is an analog clock editor that you can use as a full screen clock, a Live Wallpaper or a Widget 2x2 or 4x4. The clock can show time, battery, wifi and GSM signal for now with much more to come.
Feel free to drop by the app site at http://1010ti.me and try it. I'm also attaching the last version.
Every feedback would be more than welcome as tests were made mainly in Samsung Galaxy S and ZTE Blade.
Looks very nice, I will definitely check it out!
Thanks karyney. Feel free to drop me an email with your thoughts and questions (pmduque on gmail)
Download and installs fast...some nice looking clocks! Will report any issues. Htc incredible.

It works nice on my Nexus One on stock GRI40. I don´t like the link under the clock to the website; if you click on the clock, sometimes that launches the website.

My first Clock with 1010ti.me
First to say: Very good work, now my favourite clock! Thanks!
Used D'Watchmaker before and just tried out the new 1010ti.me
Made my first clock with battery indicator, here's the upload. Maybe somebody likes it.
Works pretty good so fare. Some FCs, but seems to be fixed with last update.
Things for the Wishing Well:
Adjusting the angles and positions is a bit tricky with the sliders.
It is hard to get objects fit together, if you want to create something off the middle (e.g. the battery indicator in my clock).
I would like to have an alternative input method, were I can insert numbers of the angles and position literally with the keyboard.
It would be nice if the widget automatically fits its size to the given area (e.g. with ADW-Launcher you could change the size of the widget). I have seen this behaviour with other widgets, so it must be possible
Edit: Posted Clock on 1010ti.me
Hi Jan,
Thank you for the feedback. I really like your clock. Don't you want to post it on the site?
Regarding your wishing well, in the actual version you have three options while dealing with sliders:
- use the slider itself which is good for the first crude placement;
- use the up/down volume button, good for fine adjustment;
- long press the slider title: a popup will show asking for numeric input, which is great for copying values from element to element.
I know this is "hidden" info but now that the release is out, I'll have time to sort out a user guide.
Regarding the autofit, I'll look into it
Hi Pedro,
Thanks for the quick answer. (I normally sleep at that time )
I will tweak my clock, now I know how to do it accurate, then post it on your site.
But I noticed after charging, that the battery hand pointed to 0, should be 100.
Don't yet know, if it is my design issue...
Edit: Setting „Hand divisions“ to 101 does the trick.
Btw.: Phone is Motorola Defy.
For the battery you need to invert the initial and final angle (so that for ex. a 1/4 circle, the initial angle should be 90 and the final 0). That's because the higher the battery goes the closer to the top you want it.
Did that help?
I just set the “Hand divisions„ to 101. Because the direction was Ok, the hand points correctly to 10, 20, ... 90. Just at 100 it pointed to 0. Which would be OK with a full circle .
But now it works fine.
The Defy gives the battery level in 10% steps, so it stays long at 100.
The 1% value is there, but in a different file.
Here is the first independent review of 1010ti.me (http://android-walker.com/?p=5706).
It's in Japanese but it has a nice walkthrough video that gives a good overview about the app.
Always nice to see Portuguese devs out here, cheers mate!
Trying your app right now... So far so good!
Very nice, coincidentally I installed this just hours before it was posted on the XDA RSS feed.
I really like the live wallpaper idea with custom background.
JanHimpIII's clock looks really nice too.
Edit: the import feature works great (straight from the website)
Downloaded and tried it on the Samsung Vibrant as well as the Huawei M860(Ascend) and they worked flawlessly. Great work! PMduque
I got a message in the middle of my LWP this morning saying 'grace period expired ,choose a free clock...'.
Thank you for all the comments!
Britose: the free version will display that message every 6 hours after activating one of the "non" free clocks (there are 6 free clocks stocked with the app). You just need to tap the clock and choose the "set as wallpaper" again.
The gold version does remove that restriction.
App: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.simproduction.twittermood
Figure out the world's mood by just looking at your home screen. Too lazy to read the news all the time? Just add the widget to your home screen and when that color changes, you know something's happening.
By using Twitter's API, the latest tweets are analyzed and an algorithm is used to find the most radical change in the mood of tweets. When this change occurs, the color and level of the mood will also change. Twitter account is NOT required!
Features:
-Widget (Twitter bird) that changes colors.
-Application with full screen color for night stand.
Please be aware that this application is in it's very early stage and bugs may appear. Just please make sure you e-mail me when this happens so that I can try and do my best to fix it. I am also open to suggestions, so if you've got one, suggest away! If you'd like please suggest a price for the full version that allows customization.
Tentative upcoming features:
-Allow for faster updating. (Right now Twitter only allows 150 requests per hour, there might be a way around this.)
-Only do tweets from your friends. (Once app is stable enough this might be implemented.
-Premium application that allows the customization of keywords. (It's already done, but it needs a bit of work.)
-More customization options.
I need to testers to review the app and give me suggestions. I am open for anything. I really would appreciate reviews and before rating bad an e-mail explaining what went wrong would be really helpful. Thank you!
Testing now...

Thank you for helping out. The app's release has a poor date. For the past 3 days, it has shown me Joyful Mood. The reason for this is that there are an incredible amount of Happy tweets caused by New Years. If you wait until all of these calm down, they will start changing.
There's been an update to fix this. Please I need more feedback!

Sent from my GT-S5660 using Tapatalk
There's no need for a twitter account. This app only uses tweets from twitter to calculate the mood. I only mention Twitter because I use their servers but otherwise you have no connection to twitter whatsoever.
Like the concept. Would like a cooler looking widget. Maybe a glossy orb or something. I would also like it if the widget would open the app when I click on it, or maybe just show a toast notification giving me the status as text
Yeah, the clicking of the widget is an intended feature. I'm not a great gfx developer, but for the time being I'm focusing on the performance of the app. I will add the widget clicking as soon as possible.
Fun idea, checking it out now

Hey,
I had this (huge, at least for me review written, then at the end hit backspace and freakin firefox took me a page back. WTF Firefox, I could kill you for that.
Anyway, so here is the short version:
Love your amazing design, with one exception of the settings menu (where you can choose the titel and all that)
I could not quite work out the difference between the up-down arrows and the left-right arrows
I did not understand the option to display as a list. I just didn't understand what it does
The text size didn't always work properly, sometimes when I would choose a bigger text size, it would actually be smaller
Everytime I had the widget done, I always had to manually resize it, but I guess that was because of sense
The widget itself was always just one big text and not nicely organized the news thread on the webpage, so the widget itself was kind of useless to me
One more tip; if you had chosen more than one element (e.g. an entire news thread), that it then should just open the single element, not the entire website with all the elements
Again great work guys!
The two websites I tried it with:
apktops
manga-access
Not sure what your problem with the menu is... its just like any other android menu.
Regarding the arrows - they will work better or borse, it all depends on the content.
"Use all as list" - this will use all the items listed below in list form, instead of just the element you clicked on.
Havent seen any problems with text size from anyone else, so most likely user error there, or some sort of parsing issue on the sites themselves.
We will make a bunch of sizes in the next release.
Lol.
Not going to happen.

Hmm, what´s up XDA ?
A brand-new app and no feedback ? ......Issues? ....afraid of Beta ?.... or afraid the colors? ... or just the weekend ?

Thanks for this app. As I have been using NFC Retag it takes some time to work out what to do using Aauuto.
1) First impression was why only landscape mode? I appreciate it is necessary to have landscape but there are cases with a long list when portrait should be an option. I prefer to be able to use both.
2) Major frustration is that widget cannot be put into a folder.
3) Not sure why there are two threads? This and http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/app-aauuto-automation-app-t2994977
I am using Note 4 SM-910F.
Keep up the good work. I guess we are all getting back into things after the break.
Cheers

Hi Tom,
many thanks for the feedback !
Yep, Aauuto has a completely different UI concept than ReTag .... as longterm ReTag user, this could take some time ... but compared to other automation apps this should be very easy to handle
1) Hmmm, nobody seems to like the landscape mode except me ....yes, in portrait mode you will have some additional screen space for the activity list etc. but for the main UI you will get less screen space for events and activities (unless I implement some nested scrolling views (-> usually a horrible UI from my point of view )) .... However, Aauuto is in Beta, because I want to try things out and incorporate user feedback, so I will probably incorporate portrait within the next update ... then we can all have a look and decide if it makes sense or not
2) Arrgh , I´m doing Android development for years and using it even longer, but I wasn´t aware that you can put widgets into folders .... ....I like the resizeable widgets, but obviously you can´t put them into folders ... so I think I have to provide an additional non-resizeable widget ....
3) I want as much feedback as possible and this "Apps and Games" forum seems much to overcrowded for that ....
Promising app, I just hated the obligatory landscape mode, is awkward.
For portrait mode just use the exposed "app settings" module... And now you have portrait view.
Update: Portrait mode doesn't work well ...lol
How about adding time and GPS events! ie ... Phone to silent at certain locations. Or dim screen brightness at 9pm etc

Okay I got it , portrait will be available in the next update ....I just have to re-enable it and do some minor tweaking .... prototype screenshot below ...
Time event is already available ... it´s called Time and it´s the first event ... GPS Geofence is on my todo list, but it depends on Google Services and the Google part wasn´t reliable in the past .... i want to have everything else stable before struggling with the Google servers ...
Thx for the feedback!
Okay... Portrait layout is much better.
I would make the Scheme On/Off button more apparent.. I finally figured it out but easy to miss at first.
Also... I would prefer the Schemes Overview to be its own screen (not a pop-up).. that should be the screen it starts in as well.
One more request.. make long pressing Scheme name "edit" possible (I know you can edit from Scheme Overview pop-up.. but most will try to long press to edit).
Might help to have one basic Scheme built to help folks figure out the basic layout (like a low battery scheme).
Thanks in advance.

I disabled the ON /OFF label because it looked weird ... but yes, I should mention it somewhere ...a help function or a walk through or something like that ...

Probably no, mainly due to two reasons:
- The Overview is a quick way to switch schemes or to change some scheme settings like name or order .... I think it doesn´t contain enough content for an extra screen
- beside that the scheme screen do some heavy background loading (schemes, events, conditions, activities ) from the internal database... having an extra screen will start this loading again, so a pop up makes much more sense from a performance point of view
One more request.. make long pressing Scheme name "edit" possible (I know you can edit from Scheme Overview pop-up.. but most will try to long press to edit).

Already implemented that with an earlier prototype ....in fact, I had the same context menu enabled as in the Overview ... didn´t like it ... I think it´s much more convenient within the Overview, and beside that how often do users change a scheme name ...but it´s up to the users, if a majority wants this, I can re-enable it ....

Good idea!
Aauuto
1 Thanks for portrait mode.
2 Looking forward to widget that I can add to a folder.
3 I like the ability to move items up and down but it is tedious for more than a few positions. Can you implement a way to move to a particular position or drag & drop?
4 Note that my "event" is blank as my "activity" is triggered by click of widget.
5 Can you allow resizing of Event / Activity windows so I can see more Activity and minimize Event?
6 My Activity is a list of Start App - all related to News e.g. News Digest, News Republic etc. The idea is, I click on widget, then each app is launched and, after a few seconds I can read each News app, pressing back key to close and automatically display next one in my list until I know I have checked all my news sources.
7 Bug is that the Apps do not all launch or do not display in same order as I listed in your app.
Can this be fixed?
Cheers
Tom

Thanks to android, this is a lot of effort for such a simple task ... it´s on my todo list, but in a low position ..
.

I think i have to keep space for at least one event ....you would gain additional space for one more activity in portrait than in landscape on a nexus 5 (note 4 maybe 2) ... so one more activity for a niche use case vs. a fidgety UI and addititonal permanent size calculations within the UI .... I don´t think that makes sense

Nothing to fix ... Aauuto fires the activities always in the correct order ... then the android multitasking kicks in......Aauuto is really fast, so it fires the activities within a couple of milliseconds ....one of your news apps may need a little bit more time to launch than other apps (or maybe is already in cache), so for Android the order could be a little bit different ....However, if you slow down the activities a bit by adding a "WAIT" Activity (--> Misc, 1 second should be enough) between the "Start App" activities, Android should have the same order cached :good:

Thanks that seems to make it work better although I think some apps may need 2 seconds. Can I suggest you set the default wait to be 1 sec? I doubt anyone would actually want to wait "0" sec ...

Shortcuts work well in folder thanks. May need wider choice of icon (darker and colored) or ability to import / or use own icon in future.
Thanks

yep, the icon set isn´t final yet .....
Hmm ,
not much feedback so far, everything seems stable ... a few small issues and only 2 error reports ... I think, I could release the 1.0 version end of January .... so, please report your issues and feature requests till the end of next week and I could probably implement/ solve them for the official (non-beta) 1.0 release ....
btw. nobody so far mentioned the colors .... I like them, but I expected some uproar ....so, last chance before 1.0 ;-P

Colours are fine.Need more volume controls. Has Alarm, Music & Ringer Volume. Missing Notifications, System and Bluetooth.
When I change a setting (e.g. delay) it should show what I had set - currently deletes and creates new.
Volume should show numbers on the sliding scale please.
It is a competitive market against Tasker, Macrodroid and your own NFC Retag. Good luck.
Thanks

Yep, standard android has Alarm, Music and Ringer volume. The other volumes were skipped in Android 4.0 ICS, if I remember it right ....A lot of manufacturers re-enable these volumes ... so it´s basically a manufacturer/ rom specific feature ... easy to implement, but works only on some devices .... However, I think I will implement some device/ manufacturer specific features eventually... not all devices and not all manufacturers, but the most popular ones and this volume settings thing surely will be one of the first device specific features.
When I change a setting (e.g. delay) it should show what I had set - currently deletes and creates new.

I do it like your proposal in ReTag ....it´s easier, if you only change a parameter, but feels a little bit awkward to change an activity .... so, I tried something new for Aauuto ... to be honest, currently I don´t know what I like better ....I will think about it ... additional feedback welcome

Hmm, android volume settings doesn´t show numbers, too .... so I don´t know what you want with these numbers ....but sure, I can have a look at it ....

Yep, it´s a competitive market, but NFC ReTag is more focused on non-writeable NFC tags and other NFC stuff and was never designed as a full-blown automation app ... so I started again from scratch ... I could have renamed ReTag and updated it with a completely new app/code/database etc. to keep the downloads and users, but I would have had to skip a lot of features because of a different focus ... so I will keep NFC ReTag focused on NFC stuff and Aauuto for a more general automation approach (with additional triggers, events etc. --> although the NFC event in Aauuto should be even easier to handle with writeable tags than in ReTag )
Sure, Tasker is the benchmark. in functionality and complexity ...... I like Tasker, but I discussed it a lot with users and a lot of them (even some tech-savvy users) could not handle Tasker .....
And yes, a bunch of other automation apps are also available ... The main difference is the no background service restriction in Aauuto .... let me explain it on a popular example:
A lot of users want some battery saver feature like "when battery is < 20% disable XYZ" ... you can do this with a lot of apps (and it´s easy to implement), but from my point of view it doesn´t make sense at all .... Android doesn´t provides a standard battery level broadcast (except Battery LOW and OK ...and it´s by intention). So any app which wants to provide such a feature has to start a background service and constantly waking up (every couple of seconds , once a minute, whatever) your device and check the battery stats ...this cause a lot of additional battery drain, wake locks and so on and at the end of the day, this checking could drain a lot more battery than you can save via "disable XYZ" ... so it´s senseless .... but users want it and they usually get it ... [another popular example for this user/android problem are the countless RAM cleaner apps out there ....on current Android versions, it doesn´t make sense to clean your RAM at all , because Android does a perfect job with that (only a full RAM is a good RAM ) and these cleaners usually do more harm than good ..... but users want it and they usually get it ...]
OK, back to the point: Aauuto will only implement rock-stable activities and bulletproof events and conditions ....so when you use Aauuto, you can be sure it works without issues and without hidden drawbacks. Maybe I will not implement a popular feature, due to some hidden drawback, but for me it´s more important to develop a good app and therefore have a few less downloads than implementing popular but problematic features ....Afaik you can´t be sure of that with other automation apps.
