Hi, I've just moved from HTC Desire to Nexus S. The Phone I've bought is an Unlocked T-Mobile phone with no support for KIES mode. I need it to sync my contacts, calendar, MM files, docos etc., The US ROM does not have KIES Mode and i did not know that before I purchased it. I cannot change to a new ROM as this is a brand new phone and warranty will be void. Any way to get the KIES Support on this phone?
Let me know if more information is needed
I dont think there is Kies support for this phone. As far as i know, kies is used for galaxy s phones ... The NS is google maintained.
Yes, its not supported in US, but the same phone has KIES mode in UK phones. I was hoping I could tweak/install something to get the phone to KIES mode, at this time i only have USB Storage mode. Some of the threads talk about fooling Samsung phones from T-Mobiles to think they are from UK to get it to work.
Pretty sure KIES is proprietary software to Samsung so you can't get it on the Nexus S. Might be able to put a GS ROM on the Nexus though and get it that way, but none are available at the moment (who wants TouchWiz on their phone? gross).
Might be wrong, though.
Is Kies tied in with Touchwiz? Or just a Samsung syncing tool?

Thanks Allgamer for the reply, but I couldnt completely comprehind your reply. Can you give me more information so I can google it?
in the SGS
KIES syncs to the phone only if the MTP app is running
if MTP is not running, then Kies will not communicate to the phone
Thanks Allgamer, I tried to install the MTP application apk from the following link, but the install did not go through and it froze my touch screen, restarted the phone.

I Have a problem, if anyone can help It's massively appreciated!
I rooted my phone & installed Resurrection ROM 9.6 (Rom taken from XDA thread). But in Sir Lanka i had a issue with connecting to Mobile internet & I'm a heavy user of phone so i had to go for a stable rom! So i decided to go with Stock rom & unroot the device. After unrooting when i connect to Kies it says "your device does not support sotware upgrading via kies".
Before all of this kies worked fine by the way!
My model no: i9100xwki8 (bought it when i was out of country)
Kies now shows, under current firmware version): I9100XWKI8/I9100KEKI2/I9100XXKI4/I9100XWKI8 (SEK)
Have i done something wrong?
Can this be fixed?
How can i fix this?
What should i do to stick with stock rom upgrade via kies?
I only did rooting from Odin & CWM; unrooting done from source i got in

I'd try reinstalling the drivers and reinstalling kies and see if that works...personally I think kies is useless, what specifically do you need kies for?

You need to use Odin or whatever that Samsung jazz is and reflash it. Sounds like you messed up somewhere. Next time post in the Rom thread or your own phone section. You'll get a better and faster response.
Do This

Bro, I had the exact same issue. What you need to do is go back to gingerbread using Kies. Once you have done that then you can root using Odin and then once you have root, stick the rom on your sd card and flash it through your phone. It is however important to note that while using Odin, make absolutely sure Kies is not running. Kies and Odin do not like each other at all and can cause devastating interactions. Just uninstall Kies before you use Odin and then restart your pc. Also, once you have your custom rom on you need to delete all the old drivers for your samsung usb. Then reboot your pc, download new samsung drivers, install them and reboot again. You should be good to go then. The drivers can come in a package with samsung kies, so unfortunately you need to reinstall kies again to get those drivers(Samsung USB Composite Device Drivers). Anyways bro, it is not that complicated once you manage to get the new rom on your phone and you will be glad you did it. I know I was, it took me a week but I finally did it. Hope that helps bro, good luck. And do not stress, our phones are really hard to brick once you get rid of samsung nonsense.
