Keyboard lag - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Are you guys experiencing keyboard lag on stock ics? Swift key is unusable and stock android lags quite a bit. I'm new to skyrocket and the only two roms I gave tried are aokp and cm9 and there wasn't any key lag, but I was dealing with too many wakelocks on those so came back to stock.
Making sure its not my phone.

I don't think that you're alone. Are you also getting occasional freezing or unresponsive screen etc?

Yes...see I didn't have this phone with gingerbread so I don't know what to compare it to...I hate keyboard lag though.

Where is it?
Edit: Oops, nvm found it.
its crazy fast and everything seems to be working.
Tried it briefly. Butter smooth.
Wifi calling didn't work. I depend on it now with the crappy dead zone I am in now.
Also miui. I didn't give it a fair chance never tried miui before. I hope it gets ported beyond miui.
Can't wait for it that's for sure
Wait, is this ICS? lol?

...How did you get that from that post? He said RAM and battery management; neither of those have anything to do with the CPU.
Those of you who have tried it, how is it? Screenshots anyone?

Working terrific so far. Looks absolutely identical to regular miui. Except keyboard which is a tiny bit smaller I believe. Also noticibly faster in general. I do recommend it from my experience so far.
been running ICS build since it's availability and everything has been smooth and stable. it "feels" faster than any other MIUI build i've used, but could just be placebo effect unless ICS' hardware acceleration is really working.
i even had wifi calling working a couple times, but this has not been consistent. sometimes it worked and other times i had the "invalid sim" error.
can't really comment on battery life as i'm still re-calibrating.
the only issue i've run into is a Market FC only when i try to swipe through the screenshots for apps...weird.
other than the issue listed above, this rom has been great and error free for me.
tried it out.... hated the Ui would much prefer weapon x ui with ics improvements and toggles going back to weaponx 2.8.
Been using the ICS build. No crazy real world speeds were felt by me. Only going to keep running this build if the battery life is better than the regular one.
Missing extended power menu. Might be missing gps.config fix & APN fix files in this ICS build.
Looks & feels the same as any other MIUI Whitehawkx has ported over.
Installed just now...works great and benchmarks return 2700+. Also, I was having terrible problems with Youtube before with any other MIUI version (very, very, very, verrrrrry slow loading). Now Youtube is faster to load than when it was with Gingerbread.
THANK YOU Whitehawkx!

I've been having problem with galnet video app. It sends me to the market to download an app. When I tried to install the app it gives me an error. Anyone else has the same problem?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
I had that happen but only because miui considered it a favorite app and wanted you to submit a rating.
That's the only thing I found impressive was the media player, galnet player. I'd love to see it in cm7 or in a market.
Playing with miui on my G2 just to get a feel for it. Would have moved it to g2x but I need T-Mobile wifi to work

These ICS framework MIUI ROMs are a disgrace to the name of MIUI, its not official MIUI ICS so really, why bother making such crap kangs?

Touch response lag on ucld2 and attaching screen shots.

On the 2nd ice leak I am experiencing touch screen response lag which is really annoying. When I slide over the screen I have to slide about a 1/4 inch in order to get the response. Has anyone else experienced this? I was thinking about doing a factory reset but I wanted to see if there is any other easy way since I have already installed all the apps. I don't prefer to go back to 1st leak since I have good battery life with the 2nd one. I am also hesitant to try any custom roms currently.
Also, I can't upload any screenshots to the posts through xda app. It says that the JPEG has incorrect file extension. Any advice?

All of the ICS leaks have been plagued with touch response lag. I'm speaking from experience. Maybe this is native to ICS?

I don't think this is prevalent problem, many users have reported to opposite. Maybe a small oversight on your part?
To op, when first moving to ics, Ive always thought an Odin to stock first was best. Maybe dark side, Odin stock, dark side and then flash modem, and thrn a ucld2 based rom? That may work to alleviate any problems
If anything.... My responsiveness is a little too good. Your problem sounds like a bad flash.
I flashed directly from 1st to 2nd leak. Should I have gone to stock gb first?

I have the Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy s2 i9100 its in the ICS. All the ICS rom's I tried all have that issue(scrolling lag) specially on scrolling widgets
I was able to get the touch response back. Here is what I did
1. Backup call log, contacts, message log, settings, preferences and network settings on kies
2. Factory reset
3. No lag in touch response.
4. Restored everything back from step 1 and found lag in response
5. Factory reset again.
6. Only restored everything back from step 1 except preferences and settings
7. No lag in touch response anymore.
Seems like restoring settings and preferences was bugging up something. However, one thing noticed in ics is the app drawer has better touch response compared to the home screens.
I am currently using Nova launcher and working great.

Am I the only one that finds ICS slower than GB?

I don't mean slower in overall phone speed, but things like typing on the keyboard and bringing up the task manager seem to take forever.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Nah I've noticed it too. I went back to GB via Nexusmod earlier and forgot how much overall faster it was. ICS isn't that smooth. Probably why they are rushing 4.1 and "project butter"

I agree. I updated my Skyrocket to 4.0.4 this morning. I find several issues with this software. I believe I'm going to look into CM9 now...

GB is smoother for sure , but for sure less features ..
So it's your choice ..
By "smoother", I think they meant they added more transition effects. Like, when you're watching a video and you rotate orientation, it'll show an animation of it switching orientation as opposed to it just switching. I like it, but then I don't.

Agreed. Flash Sky ICS and leave stock in the rear view. The only good thing about the official release is source code.

The other useful feature that I miss is date in the notification bar. When you pull down notification bar down it use to show date now it's showing huge useless at&t branding. Kinda stupid.. We've got at&t permanent title in front of us below camera and on the lock screen which btw disappears after 2 seconds. Why do we need 3 att logos? Constantly to remind us that we're on att network?

You agree to it. You sing a contract.
BTW i don't know what all of you talking about with slow ICS. I get upgrate and i think ICS is at last twice faster then GB... Or this is just me..
Well it's not slow.

Wow I can't believe your still on GB
Chimaira Android 4.0.4 (Beta2)
I don't believe that it's Android, rather the poor development on AT&T and Samsung. From what I understand, CM9 is relatively stable and now with the official out, hopefully a stable version will release soon.
I hear CM9 is quite snappy. While this update isn't terrible, but noticeably more sluggish than GB...

Should I update to ICS?

Would it be worth it? What are some bugs people have experienced with it? Is the battery life better or worse than it is on Gingerbread? Thanks in advance for answering

ics is cool, but I used it for about 2 days before jumping to jb, now I wouldn't go back .... so I say jb, I like the rom options better.

Same for me. I initially upgraded to stock ICS and removed a bunch of the bloatware. Then I started using CM10 and haven't looked back since! I love all of the additional features/customization options that roms like this give you.

Double that here. I used stock ICS for an absurd amount of time, finally got around to rooting it, and recently talked myself into giving CM10 a whirl.
Glad I did. So far the only complaint I really have is the profiles settings do not currently have a way to disable vibration if you turn the ringer off. This is a CM wide bug from what I read on the net. But hey, look at it this way, ICS doesn't even have profiles!
I'd be skeptical about battery life estimations though, invariably people use their phone more when they have a new rom...from tinkering with it all the time, or not trusting it so they check the phone more often. I'm not saying there are not differences, just saying they are usually slight in reality, and it's up for debate if they mean anything in the long run.
While you can use google now with ICS, it's an inferior version. Google now is a great reason to upgrade to a Jelly Bean rom if you ask me.

Indesicive

Hey, so i have a question for all of you veterans on here. Im mildly experimental, so i just do the basic flash a rom here and there deal. However, im running hyperdrive rls14 with stock kernel on my Verizon s3. Since it gives me options to have beats audio, aosp email and clocks as well as other great features like the touchwiz motion controls, I've been running it for a few months now.But ive realized its heavy on my battery life, and my phone has been getting hot more often than before. I felt like that partially due to the amount of ram it takes up. So does anyone have any good suggestions as to what i run? Because ive heard things such as pure stock is boring and want to make a good decision.
You can still run this, but I suggest you try the things that you want installed, and those that you think you can live without remove them. I think that will make a huge difference.

Also = AOSP, right? Well there's Halo, nightlies, "less" lag, faster updates (currently at Jb 4.2.2, TW is at 4.1.2), no TW bloat, (customizable) soft keys, and a host of other things. It's not what AOSP has that TW doesn't, sometimes it's what AOSP does not have which is why folks choose to avoid TW.
