Simple question, is there any way to get the original sense
No, sense components don't work on aosp ROM's due to lake of framework components... Just download a 3rd party keyboard from the play store. SwiftKey is an excellent alternative or swype if you like trace typing!

Either root it or side load it. AT&T blocks all non market apps from being installed. Swype on my inspire was buggy anyway, so I uninstalled it.
Get SlideIT. It trumps Swype in IMHO. SlideIT was the first to be released, though some think it's the other way around and SlideIT is a knock-off from Swype. I prefer SlideIT for a number of reasons, but mainly because you can add words to the dictionary and do a spell check on the fly. Plus, with the new release of SlideIT's 3.2, you can adjust the size (dimension) of the keyboard. That is a huge plus. Next, they are working on skins, so they say.
Both are very accurate, both do the same exact thing, they just do auto-correction and spell check (after you are done texting and want to go back to correct misspelled words the app couldn't predict) in a slightly different way.
I recently side-loaded Shapewriter, and it is by far the most accurate of all, however the keyboard is terrible looking. It's just an old-school looking keyboard...and not to mention it is no longer in the market, and I don't think the developers are working on the app any longer. I actually think that Shapewriter was the first to introduce the trace technology (late 90's).
Look in the app section here on xda, there are many alternatives for input

Anyone had any luck yet with this. Youtube clips shows promise with this keyboard.
Swype is overated in my opinion, i find the old shapewriter much more accurate and faster to edit on the go but it looks boring and isnt supported anymore.
Hoping Trace gets supported to the point it becomes more accurate and is a viable alternative to Swype etc
I removed HTC Trace on my Sensation for Swype 3 beta.
I find Swype much more accurate and faster.
Shapewriter is now SlideIT on market, I'm using it now. With your swype problem, u can just register with a different email
What do you mean it's linked to your old phone? If you're a beta tester you can log in to your email, install the swype installer, log in and install swype. I've done it on 3 phones already. I actually installed it on the third just yesterday
Make sure that you aren't just copying the apk from one phone and trying to use it on another

SlideIT is different altogether and developed by Dasur. Its not bad and the new 4.0 has skin support finally.
I know Shapewriter is actually now FlexT9 but still it is different. ie/ Shapewriter has smarter editing options, click anywhere on the word to edit it or double tap backspace to delete that word and other shortcuts. I also like the emotcon available on the front page. Also typing 2 words, joining them and then saving that word is also handy, just little features like this that makes Shapewriter so good.
Im yet to find a trace style keyboard that is faster and Swype is average in speed in comparison (thats including the newest Swype version which ive got as well)
Hi, just wondering if it would be possible to remove the direction arrows on the trace keyboard. seems like a wast of space to me?
I don't like the default gingerbread keyboard.. its small for my fingers.... is there a way to get the sense keyboard for this amazing Rom

I believe not, sorry.
Try asking in the MIUI Q&A's thread.
Actually, there is.

Download the high resolution froyo one, unzip the file, and install both the files in the zip. Enjoy
Thanks bro worked... I love this keyboard

My bad,
no excuses for having to search it for you tho.
might install that myself now.
If the HTC Sense keyboard is buggy on MIUI, I suggest Smart Keyboard Pro. Although it is a paid app (1.99 I believe), it allows customization of skin (Including HTC Sense, Android, iPhone, Galaxy, etc.) key resizing, vibration density and much more.
Hey all,
I've tried all of the keyboards on the play store (at least the free ones) and the only one that is good enough is Slide it but both the free and paid stop working after few hours. I also tried the stock keyboard and it's even better. So my request is if anyone has an apk or even the stock rom with Hebrew keyboard please share XD
Thanks, Itamar.

Hi everybody, i just bought a n5 and before n5 i use evo 3d and its keyboard awesome i think im very usual to it. can anybody port htc ime for nexus 5 pls thank you now (sorry for bad english)
This will be pretty difficult because as far as I know the HTC Keyboard relies on some Libaries from HTC Sense which is not open source. So you would have to port these Libs to Stock Android which is difficult without the source code. I had an Evo 3D too and I hated that Keyboard. Try some other Play Store Keyboards (I am using Swiftkey for example). There is a Sense 6 Rom in Development right now (NexSense), but it is a very early alpha with many functions not working.
I think there are some HTC like Keyboards in the playstore too.
EDIT: You can try this port if you want (don't know if it works): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844512
Yeah that's right. On the desire, the HTC ime required nothing but from around the time of the sensation, it became framework dependant. I missed the HTC ime so much on my S3, I tried every keyboard on play to find one close to it. Smart keyboard was the closest I found and used it on my n5 too up to about a week ago. The prediction isn't great and it wore me down after about a year but it's worth a try
