Hi,
Ever since I've updated to stock rooted ICS on my US Verizon 4G/WiFi Xoom, and I plug the HDMI cable to a tv, the image displays properly, but the screen is completely unresponsive until I unplug the HDMI from the Xoom or the TV. Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I'm so confused....
Thanks!

UPDATE: It appears to only happen with a specific brand of Samung TV. Weird....

I'm having the same problem when connecting my atrix 2 to a Sony Bravia TV, have you been able to fix it?

I'm seeing an issue with my Xoom and wondered if anyone else had seen the same thing.
When I hook the Xoom to my TV via HDMI, touch response goes south on the Xoom.
It is almost unusable. Touches are usually not detected.
It is the definitely due to the HDMI connection. On one test I was running Angry Birds and was able to play the game without any problems, connected HDMI and the game displayed on the TV but was no longer playable, unhooked the HDMI and everything went back to normal.
Does anyone know what is wrong here?
I have seen the issue with both the Stock and Tiamat kernels. I have not yet updated to Honeycomb 3.1.
TIA
Morden
that is very strange,
I have never had any issues with hdmi
I had a similar problem with a microHD cable I bought a couple of days ago, even worse, the output was reddish and no audio out, the xoom almost freezed completely.
I then tried the same cable on a Sony Bravia LCD 32' and had no issues whatsoever, my conclusion was that the newer LCD Tv (bravia) had better support for the HDMI output protocol that the xoom is using, but this is just theoretical...
I am having a problem with connecting to my TV via HDMI. When I connect my Xoom to my TV via HDMI, after about 5 seconds the Xoom freezes and I have to restart the Xoom.
It freezes but the picture is still output to the TV, though obviously I cannot do anything with it.
I know the problem lies with my TV as I have tried the Xoom connected to other TV's via HDMI and it works fine.
I have tried it with Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) set to both On & Off, also tried connecting with the TV Off and On.
It did work 1 time and I had no problem with it all evening, came back the next day and it froze again.
I am connecting using a Micro-HDMI to HDMI adapter to connect a full size HDMI cable to the Xoom. I have tried multiple HDMI cables and connected using the same cables to a different TV to make sure the cables were not the problem, but it worked fine.
I have also tried connecting via the HD Speaker Dock with the same results.
I am running the Tiamat 2.2.2 "Moray" Rom with the 1.4.3 Rouge "Rana" Kernal
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated as I'm starting to pull my hair out and I really cant afford to loose anymore
Have you tried a different HDMI port?

Yep, tried all 3 HDMI ports
how far is the xoom from the tv? i had a problem with the xoom's screen not responding, noticed that the plasma tv's heat emissions were screwing with the touch screen.
Thanks for the responses I have got it working now.
I installed the Eos ICS ROM and it worked fine, so reinstalled the Tiamat 2.2.2 "Moray" Rom and its working. Maybe an app that I had installed was causing the problem, I will find out over the next few days as I reinstall my apps.
So I've had my Transformer since May and all of a sudden it started playing up and now the screen will no longer display anything ive hooked it up to my tv via hdmi and everything is working fine, so does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
There are no settings for the HDMI connectivity. Be sure that its not an issue with your HDMI cable or TV itself. Maybe try another cable. If no luck there I would do a full wipe and flash the latest firmware.

No... he's saying the screen on the device doesnt work, but he can tell the tablet itself still does because he can hook it up to the tv with no problem...

Maybe the internal ribbon cable popped out? Did you drop it hard recently? Have you seen weird artifacts on the screen recently that might have been indicative of the cable becoming loose?
Hi
I have recently bought this phone from China and everything about it is very good but I can't seem to gt the HDMI output to work, have tried different cables, boot the phone at different times, nothing ! Am I missing something ? Are you just supposed to plug in your cable to the phone and TV and it should work or is their a setting somewhere needs turning on, TV input modes say no HDMI device is connected, and phone has no notification of HDMI being on. The settings under Display/HDMI are greyed out, presumably because the phone doesn't see it's self attached to anything.
Any advice on this would be appreciated before I have to return it. Don't want to return it only to find it's my fault.
Thanks.
Is anyone with this phone having problems with HDMI output ?
Is there no one with this phone that has any experience of using the HDMI output that can reply to my question please! All I want to know is how to use it.

Hello I used to have this phone and one of the major let downs for me was that when I got the HDMI to work it was stuck in portrait mode so pretty much useless.
Apart from that try a different tv and cable...
Let me know how you get on I am interested in buying this phone again the screen on it is amazing!
As we all know, since the new update to JellyBean 4.2 HDMI has been a problem. Before the update, I had minimal issues and HDMI worked perfect. After the update, HDMI output worked except no sound (like everyone else). A few months later, Asus finally put out a fix for this issue and my HDMI started to work again. 2-3 months later, my TF300 will not even output any picture or sound through HDMI. It was working fine on my Philips TV and then it just stopped one day. I've tried different TVs, new HDMI cord, factory reset, cold start, turning on and connecting the cord and TV in certain orders. Still nothing! I have enjoyed my tablet just this HDMI is a big problem. Anyone have a fix or heard of anything new to come from Asus? Please Help

Can you tell me which version you are currently on? If previous version were working better you can always go the Asus site and download older version.

I'm on 4.2.1 build 10.6.1.27.1 20130711
The weird part is before I updated to the newest build the HDMI worked then when I checked for a new update it stopped. I installed the new update and it hasn't worked since.
