not to rain on your parade and more power to you if you get what your asking.....but might want to recheck listings and sells on ebay....its unlikely that you will get $250
Mint condition units seem to be going around $175 to $200
just got $190 for mine via ebay yesterday

No it was someone from Nigeria. I sold it on ebay. And sent me fake paypal emails that looked so real. Said I had money. So i sent it. Then it said she overpaid and i need to pay her 200 bucks back. That's when I caught on

That crap happened to me, but I didn't sent anyone the phone until I saw in my PayPal account the money. It was from Nigeria too.
It said I had to send the phone before i got the money, bull $*it I am not retarded.
Longer story I didn't send it(this was an HTC Aria) but I got that person blocked item relisted, and got $250 it was nice great deal!

And you were lucky. Last time I checked they were at about $150. Great deal for buyers though, with all the custom ROMs a decent choice if you need one for Go Phone or don't have an upgrade/ don't want contract etc.

Can't you report that person or something? I never sold anything online so I wouldn't know but I thought you could tell PayPal or something about it.

[Q] Budget out of contract T-Mobile phone

My friend is on T-Mobile (for some reason) and just broke his rather old non-smartphone. He's looking for a new phone, and decided to take the jump to droid. He's looking to spend 50-100 dollars max and just wants a working device with a good dev community. Suggestions?

The s2 i think is around 100-150 and its a great phone.

Right. Ok well he is going to have a hard time with that. He MIGHT be able to find a G2 or a MyTouch 4G for around a hundred if he can talk someone down. But in all likelihood he'll be looking at a low end or very old model like a Comet, G1 or Cliq.

I didn't even know about the Galaxy Note 2 until this thread was started lol. After reading everything about it it is definitely going to be my next phone. It is a BEAST!.. I'm sure I'll get used to its size. Thanks for starting this thread btw.

My wife and mother in-law just picked up a couple of Galaxy S3 16GB yesterday for free.. it was hard not to take the bait, but the Note 2 is so close now.

Wind has the Note II coming soon too to Canada. I just got my SGS4G though, so it would be a while for me to get that. lol. I go with their tab plan, pay your bill and they apply 10% of your bill to pay off the phone. Maybe it will lower the price of the S3 though.

That sounds like the tmobile value pan here in the US. Pay a small fee to buy the phone then part of your new bill goes to paying the rest of the phone off. We switched to the value plan, and our bill went down even with adding a s3 with unlimited data for my mother in law. Wife is picking up the note 2 as I write this. Probably the last post from this device, it has been a rock sold device for almost two years and we'll sit in the drawer as a backup now....

I'll say this... My wife and her mom got free GS3's and I decided to wait it out for the GN2. If you decided to go with the GN2 you will not regret it.

I have seen people mention a site called swappa. Is this the best one. I have been looking for a tablet and don't trust huge sites like eBay. Is swappa a good choice? Asking fellow users.

Read into them. Honestly it'd be my first choice if I'm buying outright. Read all their tos and whatnot. As far as I know only clean esn's are on there. I have read into it and it definitely is a lot better of an option than eBay in my opinion

I bought and sold on swappa. But be cautious of sketchyness. My first one I bought turned out to be a scam and my money ended up I'm China. The whole thing was so sketchy. But PayPal is awesome and got my money back in a couple of days.

Here on the US west coast, Craigslist is king for used phones.

For safe transactions and reduced prices, you can check out the "outlet" from the company. A lot of companies sell the slightly used tablets and refurbs on their outlet's website.

actually what i always do is, shop around on the site and see whats available. then i call them prior to me checking out to confirm everything and they usually give anywhere from a 10-15% discount.
KEEP IN MIND:
i have a business account
i have 4 lines under my name. All 4 are smart phones
and i get 21% discount on all accessories because of the company i work for.

S3 still the best on verizon market?

Hey I have a chance to get a phone on contract and switch it to my unlimited plan on Verizon. I have an s3. Is this the best on verizon. My friend for some reason has really bad credit but has a chance to get new lines with new contract price. Then he is just not going to pay. Now this isn't something I would do but he did offered me a chance to get any phone I want for cheap price. Should I keep my s3 or just get a different phone and sell it.

Its really a matter of preference in screen size. And the fact the note has a quad core. I would wait and get the galaxy 4 when it comes out. I love my 3

Try craigslist. You can often get better prices on ebay even after the fees, if you are lucky.

The new DNA looks pretty good. Only down side is it doesn't have a removable battery or expandable memery

S3 is my baby. Love the thing. But if the Note 2 was out when I upgraded, I may have gone with that. They're so close on about everything except screen size. Like it was stated above, personal preference.

yeah when you said "for some reason" your friend has bad credit.... Doing stuff like this is the reason. It's also why lots of people who are just joining verizon pay a $300 deductible for service. That being said, my gf has the SIII, and I'm still rockin' the GNEX running ParanoidAndroid. I'm upgrading my work phone and going with either the Note2 or the DNA. I think you'd get a better re-sale price for either of these 2 phones than for the SIII if that's what you're looking for.

Tell your friend I said thanks for doing his part to make my service more expensive.

Honestly you should blame the verizon reps. We went today and he was 250 past due. Usually they don't open new lines. He was going to pay it but the rep said its Ok I have a way around it so you can pay later. I was on the side like WHAT. What would you do. So not to a note 2 at 350? Instead of full retail? I ended get the note 2 for my gf which it is pretty cool.

Ya have you heard the rumored size of the note3. It's going to be 6.5 inches. I think the 5.5 is pushing it. I held the note 2 is not to bad but anything bigger than that is pointless to me unless you are on bluetooth headset all day for calls. The battery has to be humongous to power that bad boy.
