[HELP] VipersS Flashing Issue - HTC Sensation

i flashed VipersS and when i reboot it just does like...a boot loop on the bright HTC logo screen??? idk if thats boot looop or not...please someone help me, and im dieing to use VipersS Rom, btw, im on S-OFF

Do you have the correct firmware 3.32 or 3.33? Did you do a wipe before flashing? I'm s off and before I installed viper I wipe cash, wipe dalvik , wipe data factory reset (do this in 4ext recovery) stay in recovery choose zip from sd card , flash, reboot.
It should be fine if you follow those steps and Are using the correct firmware.hope this helps.

i am coming from the amazing Elegancia. and i originaly wanted VipersS Rom but never got it to work, so idk exsactly what version im coming from, all ik is im coming from the latest Elegancia. Ik all the wiping procedures. lol im not new to rooting, just new to HTC and the Sensation.

Try it as I told you and it should work, wiping is very important. You do have 4 ext recovery don't you? 4 ext makes things very easy, . Just remember to wipe before installation. Hope this helps and hope you enjoy your sensation!

so...how do i upgrade i guess to 3.33?

First download the universal 3.33 firmware then you install it from the bootloader.

To put the firmware on your device put the pg58img file on root of sd card then reboot into bootloader by removing battery put battery back in, press volume down and power your device will recognize the file and ask to upgrade volume up for yes. It will upgrade then remove the file off the sd card or it will continue to want to update. This is how you install firmware
It seems like a lot but once you do it you won't forget.

Yeah, i upgraded to 3.33...still does the htc logo reboot...wtf...

Don't know why it's still not booting? You followed all the directions and seemed to have done everything correctly that I know of. Hopefully someone else has more ideas. Try a fresh download see if that will help , if not I'm not sure what else to do.perhaps someone else has some ideas. I do wish you the best and I'm sorry it's not booting? Is it just viper not booting? Very strange. I do wish I could be of more help

HELP

plz help. rooted sensation. I was running sense-o-maniac rom but switched to an ics rom using 4ext recovery but then my phone didnt start after 1 hour so i tried to put it into hboot and it said that no image or something and then asks ffor an update. When i do that update it reboots and gets stuck again but if i dont i cant press to go back only reboot where it gets stuck. What do i do? i am willing too do a full wipe or ANYTHING just gte me into recovery.PLEASE
Did you flash the recovery using hboot (pg58img.zip) If so remove it from your SD card (use an adaptor or just remove the SD and see if you can get to hboot as normal.

And if that's the case, you can put a Gingerbread ROM on the SD card and reflash that one. Should spin right up.
IF this is your problem
Yes most probably the problem is due to the flashing of the firmware. First flash the firmware required for ICS ROMS and then install the ROM, should work out fine for you

to SuperCID or not to SuperCID, that is the question

Noob alert...
So, my cellular device is S-OFF with Revolutionary and I have 4EXT Recovery in working order. I have also performed a NANDROID Backup.
Do I need to SuperCID, or any thing else before I load my ROM?
The ROM I'm looking at says not to Super Wipe, how do I go about doing the wipe, etc...
Anything else I'm possibly missing?
Your help is greatly appreciated...
...thanks in advance!

Does the rom boot? If so just use the 4ext app to flash a new theme. That should overwrite whatever is corrupted. If that doesn't work reflash the recovery entirely. You can do that from the app too.
If that doesnt work comeback with a more detailed description of exactly what you get.

There is an app for 4ext. Its available for download on the play store. Its an absolute must have app if you use 4ext recovery. It makes life so much easier.

Back up rom

What the simplest way to back up the Rom that's on my sensation before I flash it.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
I think you mean to say back up the old ROM before flashing a new one?
You perform a NANDROID backup. For this, you need to go to recovery, and select the backup option.
If the Sense version & Android versions of both ROMs is the same, wipe Cache +Dalvik from recovery before flashing the new ROM. If you want to revert back, Wipe Cache + Dalvik from recovery again and then flash the Old ROM.
Yes a nandroid back up is what I'm referring too.so I go into recovery select back up option to back up the old Rom.what do you mean by if sense version and the Android version of the Rom is the same? How do I know if the 2 are the same?you said to wipe cache& dalvik from recovery before flashing the new Rom.and if there not the same then what do I do?would you please explain.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
What I meant to say was that if the Android software version (for example 2.3.4 (Ginger Bread) or 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) ) & the HTC Sense software version (for example Sense 3.5, Sense 3.6, Sense 4.0) are same for the old ROM that was installed and the new ROM that you want to install, it is sufficient to wipe Cache + Dalvik.
If they are not the same, then you need to format all partitions except SD Card.
To wipe Cache + Dalvik or to Format all partitions:
Switch off your phone.
Remove and re-insert the phone battery.
Press Vol down + Power key to boot to bootloader.
Select Recover.
Choose the option Format | Wipe
Select the action you need to perform.
I'm running a sense Rom right now but I'm going to install a non-sense Rom that why I need to know the difference between a sense and a android version is a Android version a Rom without sense?I don't know how to determine if there the same because if they are I just wipecache & dalvik.what about if there not the same then what do I wipe or do?

If you go to Settings > About phone > Software Information , you can find android version and sense version information is available there.
If you are switch to a Senseless ROM, format all partitions.

Hello Guys ive recently bought a Sensation XE as my Samsung Galaxy S2 packed in :-( I am really lovin the phone over the S2 to be honest The thing is I want to unlock my bootloader and flash Android Revolution without voiding my warrenty. Can this be done without using the HTC Dev Unlock? Also I understand that my phone is S-ON and would I be able to flash android Revolution with it been S-ON. Also is it wasy to revert back for warrenty purposes. Thanks in advance

What wire did you use and after you have done S-Off using that guide what is the next step before flashing a custom rom? Thanks
I'm not sure about the wire as I had a different h boot but once your s off and. Have4ext recovery installed you download the Rom to the root of the sd card, then wipe cash, wipe dalvik, wipe data factory reset (do this through 4 ext recovery)stay in recovery after you do these things chose install zip from sd card , scroll down and find the Rom then press , it will install from there. Once installed go to reboot and your done. It can take some time for the first boot. Hope this helps you!

Any co-ax cable.. In fact any insulated wire which is a good conductor would do.. But insulation is important.. Except the edges..

I flashed clockwork mod recovery via fast boot (you need adb installed), then flashed the ROM below, but once s-off the choice is yours. There's tutorials and step by step guides for everything which is a great help. For the wire trick I used a wire from an Ethernet cable, someone recommended it in that previous thread and it worked fine, took a couple of attempts but was fine. If there is anything else just let me know.

As realsis says wipe dalvik and cache and etc, pretty much all the ROM posts in the development threads advise what to do, I used clockwork mod but recently changed to 4ext and can recommend it also as its easier to use.
If you're unsure of the wire trick, read through ganeshp's s-off thread, he's very helpful and knowledgeable.
