You can try. But there's a chance of WiFi to be broken, because Rayman (formerly Rayman84) and his team use the old WEXT WiFi driver for some reason.
Every other AOSP-based rom uses the newer NLx WiFi driver. So this works on every AOSP rom, other than CM10 (unless they change WiFi driver or I get my hands on this)
If you report WiFi not to work, I will fix it.

Please grap a file over adb for me.

Remember how I said that the harmony kernel was making my tablet panic and freeze with that loud buzzing sound with any frequency over 1200mhz? Well I flashed this just a while ago with your (raymans) jb asop #2 and I've been running at 1600mhz ever since. Thanks so freaking much!
I'm wondering about one thing though... and not surrounding if anyone has experienced this with the same kernel-rom combo. After waking up from deep sleep, wifi no longer works and requires reboot. Could this be due to the kernel or rom? Ill deal with it as long as I have to because even with that problem it is awesome.
Thanks!

I tried messing with it and turned off the wifi in settings. Froze the tablet requiring a reboot. Ill get you a logcat tomorrow.

Ive experienced your issue and the one posted above.
Problem 1: When waking from deep sleep wifi sometimes will not work or tablet will not wake back up
Problem 2: When disabling wifi the tablet will freeze requiring a reboot
Problem 3: When moving from one access point to another on the same network, the wifi will stop working and requires a reboot.
Had this issue on this kernel and on the latest harmony for ICS.

Disclaimer:
I'm not responsible for any damage of your device that may occur.
Prerequisites:
It's tested with tezet's builds and should also work with stock kernel. If not, please notify me and I will upload other versions.
For czechop's builds I added special files because the build uses a different kernel than tezet's. You do not break something if you install the wrong version, it just won't work.
You need CWM or TWRP of course...
Difference between the zip-files:
...active.zip: ...activates the governor on every boot.
...inactive.zip: ...installs the governor but you must choose it in settings.
You can (de-)activate the governor on boot by installing the corresponding version.
Information for users:
Boot to CWM/TWRP and flash the zip, that's it.
Information for devs:
You can pass parameter to the module. Read 99boostedASS. The values are sorted alphabetically:
Code:
awake_ideal_freq
down_rate_us
max_cpu_load
min_cpu_load
ramp_down_step
ramp_up_step
sample_rate_jiffies
sleep_ideal_freq
sleep_wakeup_freq
up_rate_us
If you want to change values, change them in 99boostedASS. If you want to use standard values of boostedASSv2 just leave the parameters away oder change the ones you want to be standard to negative values.

If this governor really fixes problems with data connections with other governors, that would be great! Looking forward to hearing some positive reactions.

These don't work anymore due to 2nd-boot. You'll get bootloops, at least that is what I get and others.

boostedASSv2 is a modified smartASSv2 so I think it is not worth investigating in smartASSv2. If you can name good arguments for smartASSv2 I might look at it.

Well since you modified the BoostedAssV2 i was hoping you could tell me :silly:
But I searched about the differences between them and it seems you are right, there aren't any major differences between BoostedAss and SmartAss. Even seems boostedassv2 is more power efficient.

You're welcome!
Here another note using boostedASSv2.
In the last days i got some randomly/variouse FCs without any clue what happens. Now i think i found it.
Before boostedASSv2 and the first days with, i used an "easy" lifewallpaper and sometimes, when the M2 wakes up from deepsleep it behaves strange.
After changing to a static wallpaper this is gone .

Hi! i´m tryng to include the boostedASSv2 in a zip, a tezet´s cm10 nightly, but i´m a little lost. I´ve downloaded the zip file (the "active" one) finding 3 files inside. using the notepad++ found in the 99boostedASS that i should place the files symsearch.ko in /system/lib/modules/ and so the file cpufreq_boostedASS2.ko but there are some values at the end of the line that i dont´t know where and how they should be placed (i think in the cpufreq file , but...) And finaly, the last line, what does it means? Hope anybody can help me, and sorry for my english!
Thank for your work.

Read the information for devs in my first post. I explained the values there.
99boostedASS must be moved to /system/etc/init.d/.
Read the updater-script for further information on where to put files.
Now also available for czechop builds!
I just added files for czechop's builds. He uses a different kernel, so the old files are not working. It is tested with the most recent build of CM11, notify me if there are any problems.
Can't we use that governor on other devices?
It's not the first time I overclock one of my phones, but I'm stuck here. I'm on CM11 by czechop and flashed boostedASSv2_for_MS2_czechop_active.zip. Installed SetCPU, but can't choose more than 1000 MHz. I installed Aero Control, at least it shows I have boostedASSv2 installed. But can't change the MHz. Also tried Milestone Overclock, works temporarily (I know it says only for Stock ROM) and can see that change in the CM11 developer settings, but after a reboot, all is gone.
I went to the boot menu where I can change CLK 1 to 4. Changed 4 from 1000 to 1300 MHz but phone gets stuck during boot.
I know I'm doing something wrong . How can I get the boostedASS to work / run the phone with 1300 MHz (or less)? Thanks in advance.
*** DON'T FLASH THIS IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH ANY PROBLEM IT MAY CAUSE ***
Goal:
This kernel is not intended to compete in any way with others. This kernel is a hobby that i'm in with the goal to provide two flavors of @rabits dualboot kernel,
one with pure CyanogenMod kernel and other with some tweaks. I'm not expert neither so this maibe dangerous stuff. Pay atention before continue. I'm making this
public because i think this can be usefull for others.
*** Backup your data before continuing! ***
Info:
This is a complementary project that uses @rabits work for TF700T Dualboot.
Here you can only get the Kernel and the installation zip, but you need to get the RooFS from @rabits work,
to get the complete funcionality. The link to the RootFS is provided here too near the below zips.

As i said before i did not tested but since it works on CM it is likely to work on PA. Just give it a try and report here its no big deal. Just have a rom to flash if there is a problem. You wont loose recovery, so you can always go back so the old kernel.

rtfpessoa Kernel [27/03]

Hello Guys, I would like to present you my first SGY kernel which I have compiled from source. This is only for Stock or Stock based ROMs.
Features :
1) Loads of governors like userspace, ondemand, powerspace, conservative etc. so that users will not get biased towards only one configuration
2) I/O schedulers like noop and cfq with cfq as a default scheduler
3) Max frquency 832 Mhz and min frequency 312 which I found the best in terms of battery and performance because Overclocking decreases the life of Phone.
I am currently lookoing forward to add Extra I/O Schedulers although cfq is best out there with Conservative governors in my opinion. CPU underclocking will be in my roadmap as well. I hope you guys will appreciate me.
Steps for Installing/Flashing :
1) First reboot into recovery and flash any CWM recovery(Note: don't flash it through stock recovery directly)
2) Go to mounts/Storage and mount everything system,cache,sd-card
3) Now flash the Zip I have provided
4) Now Wipe cache partition from Main menu
5) from Advanced option-> wipe dalvik cache and reboot
I have tested it myself. Please report in case you guys run into any issues.

Hello,
According to XDA Rule on GPL and Apache Compilence
For kernel developers: You must provide FULL source code, not just the edits you made (reference here). Your source code must also be up-to-date with any binary releases. If in doubt, update your github first, then release the binary, NOT the other way round.

if cpu spy is displaying freq. usage and deepsleep is notshowing up then there is some problem.
else by default its enabled in stock kernel.

its says- states file not found.
kernel is not compatible with that app cz freq. states file is disabled by default.
but deepsleep is enabled in kernel.
also the kernel u build is having old source.
latest kernel from samsung in update like dxmj is best n having many changes.
just add init.d support in it and compare the battry life with ur kernel.
and that stock one is far more stable than urs.
no offense
but untill and unless u add some more features in it, stock kernel will still be my preferred choice.
add more featrs into it to make it better than stock one.

Both of them weren't updated for a longer period. All other should work. Like the green machine or xperience.

The Insanity (linaro) kernel is updated frequently. Only the OP subject is not updated
You could try 1.7 or 1.8. Dont use 1.9

Why I should not use 1.9 ?

The developer said that there were some bugs. But try 1.7 or 1.8, they work really good. I prefer 1.7 for now because 1.8 causes somehow more battery drain.

Why has the developer removed all the downloads ? Only 2.0 is available for download ! Please can you attach the zip file of 1.7 and post it ?

Not sure why he did that..... And now v2.0 is gone, there is a new one with the date as version number. The development of this kernel fast. I havent tried the new one yet
But here is the file for v1.7 (the link will be removed after 21 days)

I might move over to Xperience kernel, since the developer is more informative And i also have no problems with wifi with that one.
Hello guys,
This is a project I was working on for a kernel for our SGY.
I made it with a few things in mind:
>Improve it's performance
>Be universally compatible (after I nearly given up on trying to get a snappier CM11 and after the need for a snappier SGY, I decided to go back to GB. However, BML is terrible, and it is annoying to come back to. I decided to build a MTD kernel for Gingerbread then, and it works!)
>Experiment and upgrade as much as I can (thanks @robcore!!!!)
But since I lost my device, I cannot continue developing it. I am then releasing the source code (sorry, no flashable stuff, I deleted it long ago ) for any of you to continue(?) my work if your heart so desires.
If I ever get myself another SGY (or another BCM21553 device), I will gladly continue development (and support whoever does it too), but before I lose all my data and the kernel code alongside it, I am making it available.
This kernel features:
-OC up to 1040MHz (It's questionable even today if the bcm21553 OCs really work, but I tried hacking a way that works very similarly to MarocOS's one, maybe even better. Be warned though, the source around it is messy)
-GPU hacks for performance (Again, even I don't know if they do work, probably the values are just there to be seen, I'm not sure. I do know though that increasing the CPU speed will much likely increase the speed of V3D too)
-DVFS disabled (I found out DVFS is mostly the culpirit in the "832MHz crisis" where the kernel would forcefully scale itself to 832MHz, so I eliminated any reference to it in kernel code. Apparently DVFS on the processor is only available under the bcm21553 governor, but it is present on the other drivers as well. The idea for disabling DVFS came from my friend @robcore)
-A few additional governors and a buggy interactive governor (which is the default xd)
-MTD support for Gingerbread (Thanks Samsung Epic 4G! Although it only works on TouchWiz (I tried it with SL v2 and v2.1 and it works, but under NougatME(CM7) I got no success and loads of segfaults), it works ALMOST perfectly. See bugs for details )
-Some scraped source code from Samsung's FSR I found on the internet (barely compilable, though)
Bugs:
>Gingerbread version:
-IMEI won't appear in the Status screen, I also faced problems with non-working radio for calls. Data works just fine, but calling and receiving calls is unavailable. I believe it is EFS-related. My suggestion is backing up the EFS partition's file structure, then converting it to MTD, then restoring the backup.
-TWRP will crash and panic when exiting, a workaround is force rebooting
>ICS version:
-TWRP will crash and panic when exiting (I believe fixing it here will fix the bug above too)
>KitKat version:
-Flashing images fail randomly, you may also be unable to reboot normally if you do so. I tried addressing this but I couldn't get anywhere.
DOWNLOAD THE SOURCE: Here!
Thanks to:
@robcore - his development on the Snapdragon S4 breathes life on my dev soul!
@zman0900 - I saw his thread on an MTD TW kernel for the Samsung Epic 4G, which led me to believe MTD on GB is possible.
nice kernel
It sound nice. I'm a newbie developer, I'm building a kernel to fix audio bug on cm9, hope it work. And thank you for the source

Have you gathered enough info on it? I would like to fix it too, but I couldn't get any info on whether if the audio bug is a kernel-side issue or an OS -side issue.
Best of luck for you

I don't sure so I decided to build a kernel from your source and another cm9 version from Mohamad.Afaneh's source and I'll merge the audio on both of them for the best think to fix the bug.Thank you .

To make it, you have to sync the cm9 source code then add the files from his github to your localmanifest. This thing is not in anyway related to that except the MTD. This one is a kernel-compile only source
Oh man, i give up. I can't build a kernel from source, but i can modify a kernel.
Can someone give me the zimage for ics Please....

Or you can give me the extracted boot.img files. (ICS/KK)
I will rebuild it using dsixda's android kitchen.

Sorry but I can't because I'm bored of making ROMs so I switched back to Windows. I'm planning on making a ROM, I'll compile the kernel for you once I get linux installed
