Android Market problems after Firmware update

4 Days ago I updated my firmware of my Samsung Galaxy S from stock to I9000XWJM2.
After the update my mobile internet wouldn't work, because it threw out the APN access point. So I had to put that in over new. After that it would work fine again.
But still, as soon as I download an App from the Andoird Market, an error pops up saying that the download has failed and I should try again later.
This has been going on for 4 days now.
What is the problem? Does it have to do something with my firmware update or didn't I put in the APN correctly?

Has the OTA update 2.3.6 pulled back

Been trying it for two days, says no software update available..Does anyone know if this has been pulled back?

When I called AT&T about the update, I was told that the new update was only for selected devices that needed it based on the IMEI. Don't know if true but doesn't sound far fetched. Seems like only certain people have it while others do not.

Ive been trying for weeks with no luck, when i called att the rep told me that i had to wait for the notification from att to show up, going to settings and update software wont work at all. So i was told. I wish we could get some solid information about what happened to our update.

Yes, unfortunately or fortunately I had the update bugging me for 2 days, back in Nov. I had CWM recovery then, so the update failed, now of course it says that no updates are available. So I am not sure about the IMEI theory as I cannot get it anymore, as I went back to Stock recovery hoping I could do it.

When I was on the Samsung Moment they pushed an OTA update that was only for the first 1000 phones that downloaded it. They were using their customers as beta testers.

Sounds likely, esp with CIQ installed!
I got it about 2 days after getting my phone, then I had to flash back to stock with ODIN to 2.3.5, it now says no update aval. Not sure it's IMEI based...
Were there any noticeable changes anyhow?

If you want 2.3.6 and you can't get the 2.3.6 OTA update, why don't you flash the stock 2.3.6 zip in the Development section using CWM? (posted by silver03wrx).

When we called into Samsung last week about some browser questions (pinch reflow) we also asked about the update. We were informed it was pulled because of issues and to watch for further updates.

I received the update on day one...can't tell if there is any actual change in the device...other than the one-click riot methods NOT working. Which is really frustrating. Lesson learned: don't be quick to update.

Problems with Google play and OTA updates

First things first, I was running UEBLG5 firmware last week and noticed there's the new UEBLH1 update in kies, few days later there was the UEBLH2. I never received any OTA updates to neither, I keep on checking and it says no updates available, is there something wrong?
PS : I received the UEBLG5 firmware using OTA like months ago.
My other problem is, app updates with play store : Today I was checking angry birds' page on googe play (not the all apps page) then found 2 buttons : update and uninstall, going back the all apps page to check, there wasn't any update notifications. This also happened with cut the rope even thought I have auto updates on. (Last time I got notified about an update was for samsung's built in apps)

The other problem is weird, If you try to update it manually, does it work ?

I received the update via kies, but it says device not responding so I gave up and downloaded the OTA package from samfirmware and flashed it in recovery.
And yes, after the manual update in kies the app works

[Q] KitKat Update Issues

The OTA update showed up this morning. I chose to delay it because I was going to need my phone. Went to update it later and it just would not download. Did a factory reset and now when I go to system updates it says "checking for available update." for about a minute then says "check for update is not available at this time. Try again later." What am I missing here?

there have been quite a few people with this same issue. i havent seen any direct fix.
if you are locked, i would suggest you wait it out, or wait for the sbf file to get leaked. there is a way to sideload it, but its risky being locked and no sbf to save you if a problem comes up.
if you are unlocked, there are directions in the General forum to sideload the ota. there is no risk if you are unlocked.
if you are locked, the only thing i would suggest to try is re-flashing the stock 9.30.1 with rsd and see if it will pull the update afterwards. there is no guarantee this will work, but your phone will be 100% clean stock after the flash and give you the best chance to grab the ota if available.

Did you download it and then said to apply it later? If so, are you rooted? If so, hook up your phone to your PC and adb shell into it. Type "su" and hit enter to go into superuser mode.
Navigate to the /cache directory and you should see the OTA .zip file sitting in there. Copy it to your external SD card and then you can load it manually via the recovery.
If you're not rooted, then you won't be able to navigate into the /cache directory. Or, if you didn't have it download when you got the notice (or couldn't download it), then it won't be there.

More update issues
My wife & son both have the HD. My wife checked for the update this morning, said it was ready and proceeded to download. Update did as it was supposed to and when it was done, she had KitKat and that's when things went a bit wonky.
If she has Bluetooth turned on, WiFi connection drops after a few minutes. She googled possible workarounds and none really worked. As long as she is not using BT, WiFi stays up
Has anyone else seen this behavior? She refuses to let me root it and install a custom ROM as I have done on my Samsung GS4 from VZW.
In the mean time, we've told our son not to take the update until
we know more about a possible fix.

Fix was just posted recently. do a factory reset. It sucks, but its the only option.

Android V 4.1.2 worked flawlessly since Nov 1023 upgrade. Decided to upgrade to KitKat via OTH. Had WIFI connection issues right away ( inability to obtain IP or lost connection, etc.) This happened with Bluetooth ON or OFF, no difference. The Signal strength was much lower than when on the previous android version and subsequent indicated connection speed was at least 1/2 of what I was getting previously.
Worked with Verizon and Motorola tech support personnel and did multiple factory resets with no improvement.
Since I wanted a factory solution and had insurance on the phone, I ordered a replacement phone. Thankfully, the new phone had 4.1.2 and worked perfectly. WIFI issues are gone.
Conclusion, KitKat is not ready for prime time yet. WIFI bug needs to be worked out before I will upgrade again.

That's a shame because for me, the FDR fixed the Wifi/Blue-tooth issue as it did for many others. Might have been a hardware issue (faulty radio, etc).

S8+ oreo update interrupts at 24%

does anybody know whats goin on with this issue?...crb9 update keeps getting interruptedand the phone reboots

Mine does the same with brb1, now when I try to update it says I'm up to date

I was getting stuck at 24% as well. I did this and it worked for me coming from december 2017 update. I downloaded tje update over wifi. I then turned off wifi and had data going. I plugged the phone into charger and went to settings > software update and the option to continue appeared and I was able to update it no problems. Hope this helps

My father's S8+ is doing the same thing here, gets to 24% and fails. I tried the above method of disabling wifi and charging during install, but that didn't work.
I was about to get a logcat to upload but now it's saying it's up to date when I check for updates. I'm also on version BRB1

i went back to L1...but i dont think thats the issue...mines worked after a similar method...i restarted the phone after it was finished downloading...and it went pass 25%...i was about to give up to...i was like..screw this..completed...feels good...so i guess everyone has their own trick...maybe 1 might work

I had the same issue but worked around it. Here is what I did.
1. Download BQL1 to SD Card and BRB1 to SD Card
2 Odined back to BQK5
3. When it goes to install this it will error out and install bql1. from SD Card
4. Installed BRB1 from SD Card
5. Did OTA update to Oreo.
It is kinda of a pain but it did work for me.

Sorry for the confusion.. I downloaded the BQK1 from a link found on this post. This download contained the files to use with Odin.
I believe that I got the other files from the Samsung Website.
I don't believe that rooting would be a problem but I am not rooted so I can't answer that with 100% certainty.

I flashed my phone with G955USQS2BQL1 and it updated just fine. It even did the March security update after the Oreo update.
