I'd like to know what makes us - uhh.. jerks?
Is it that we have rules we enforce for engaging our help?
Or is it that we've helped thousands of people who follow the rules for zero compensation unlike others, who hang out donate signs for every god-knows-what mod of whatever value, often questionable?
Really? You talk trash like this in a ramdom Q&A thread, a mod notices it and still.. we're um...jerks?

I dropped by the irc for a brief moment during which i was insulted and kicked from the irc for giving help to someone, who ended up just private messaging me here for help because he was treated like trash.
you were not active while i was there, and the guy who was should obviously not have been left in charge.
no offence was directed toward you whatsoever. the exact message i recieved,
those guys were douchy, do you have any advice to help me?

it leads me to believe he was treated unfairly. the guy couldn't get into recovery and perhaps he was asking help from the wrong people, but someone from this thread directed him there and so there he went.
again, no offence was directed to you attn1, i don't even remember who the guy in the irc was, because it wasn't and isn't a big deal...
Need some help please.

Maybe you need to use your noggin and not only post in the right forum, but use one of those mystical things you were born with, your eyes and your brain; your eyes to read what each sub forum is for, and your brain to actually process that information.
If you had gone to the right forum, I'm pretty sure on that one page alone there are more than three posts relating to your issue.

140 is a downgrade error
download the latest RUU 1.47.xxx, while in bootloader make sure that you have FASTBOOT USB (when plugged in the PC) and run the RUU
If you realy need your phone.. get revolutionary and get it back to s-off .
Don't know if it works from the bootloader..you could try.

yup.. install htc sync, create a goldcard (method is same for every phone). reboot the pc. plug your phone into the pc and select charge only and remember. run the desired ruu, and good luck.
edit: i didnt realize it wont boot. s off it and then extract rom.zip from ruu and rename it to P#**IMG.zip (im not sure about the exact name, # and * are unknown - when you boot in bootloader it should say "scanning for P#**IMG, just rename it to that). put the renamed .zip in the root of the sd card. reboot in bootloader, wait for it to scan. install. done.

Haha, thanks.
I have a problem, kinda.
I decided to flash Cyanogen, spent 20+ hours reading forums and raping my phone, flashed several ROMs (saga3g by proxuser, for instance), but I can't make Cyanogen work, it freezes at the "htc" screen (the one with green letters at the white background). Also, when I shut it down (battery pull or 3-button hold), it restarts in a couple of seconds.
Specs: hboot 2.00.0002, S-on, htc-dev unlocked, clockwork mod, rooted.
Any ideas what am I doing wrong?

If you are still S-On then anything requiring a different kernel to the stock HTC one will require the boot.img (kernel) to be installed via fastboot prior to flashing the ROM.
Procedure described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19082155&postcount=41
You have done well learning what you have done so far, considering you only PM'd me about it at the start of the weekend, and by the time I get around to replying, I see you have figured it out! So I highly recommend you take the final step and get S-Off. Else you'll have to use fastboot to push a kernel over with every ROM change.

So after these 4 steps I'll get S-off?
It just looks like ROM-specific procedure, so I want to clarify

I'm very much obliged for your help, now I have Cyanogen 7.1 on my phone *yay!*
I think I won't change ROMs often enough, so flashing boot image won't be a difficulty. also, I'll check every now and then with Revolutionary, and when they support hboot 2.00.0002, I'll get S-off. Anyway, now I'm finally happy I managed (with your help, wnp_79, and with the help of the whole xda commmunity) to give Cyanogen a try

One final thing, once you start a question thread that gets solved, change the title of the thread to say [SOLVED] at the beginning so people know you are ok and others can read and learn!

Don't know what you are disappointed about. S-OFF stands for security being off. This may sound bad, but from a developer perspective, it's pretty good. If you have true S-OFF like you claim you do, you can flash ROMs, kernels, radios, etc... in a recovery with no issues at all; regardless of what hboot or custom recovery you have. Unlocked means that you can flash custom recoveries and such using fastboot, which is what you want. To sum it up, S-OFF is good; many devs are trying to get S-OFF, but NONE can figure it out. Just be happy about it.
Having this 'Unlocked' text is what you're going to get if you root/unlock the phone. No way to get around it. If you want to return to complete stock settings and re-lock, your best bet is to be on stock recovery and flash an RUU that corresponds to your network. You may also want to try 'fastboot oem lock'.

Oh sweet jesus you're lucky as hell.
Never ever ever sell your phone, because you got your hands on a developer one or just a phone that slipped through the cracks, because you have full S-OFF.
You should be able to flash ROMs in recovery without going to fastboot to ever flash a kernel, if the ROM is set up for it.
You would do better to change thread title...

Good news: your phone is not bricked, as it's responding, it's just stuck on boot, so there's something wrong with the ROM you flashed (maybe a wrong one?).
Have you tried taking your battery off, waiting for a while, put in back in, and then tried to enter CVM? I'd like to help you further, but I don't own that phone.
Also check the Q&A and General threads at http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1138 for a similar problem.

Thank you,got it. I tried multiple times to get to recovery but it kept saying device not found. I removed battery and powered up and hit hit adb reboot recovery right away and it went. Thank you again. Ill be doing a bit more research before i try this again. Any ideas about getting this thing downgraded so i can get s-off? I keep getting errors that the files arent found but i have everything downloaded that i need.
I understand there are other topics on this situation, but I was hoping to get something more specific to my problem, PLEASE, I REALLY NEED HELP!
Details about my phone...
AT&T HTC ONE X
Unlocked - Using SIMPLE MOBILE
When booting into Bootloader:
TAMPERED
UNLOCKED
EVITA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.09.0000
RADIO-0.17.32.09.12
OpenDSP-v28.1.0.32.0504
eMMC-boot
Apr 2 2012,21:08.24
When I boot into Recovery:
This build is for development purposes only
Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written premission.
Failure to comply may lead to legal action.
After about 30 seconds the phone reboots.
I received the phone unlocked, but did the rooting myself with help from threads on xda developers. It seems it all went well, when I access RootChecker, it is a success and I have access to Root.
I want to flash custom roms but am not able too!
Please, help me figure out what is wrong with my phone not being able to boot into recovery!
I really, really, need help on this issue!
Did I do something wrong and if so what did I do?! I followed everything about adb and using the cmd on windows. Please help me!
Thank you anyone for any type of information you might be able to give me, I want everyone to know I really appreciate it!
Thank you so much!

you should probably update your recovery http://www.teamw.in/project/twrp2/99
in bootloader run these commands from the pc
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.0-evita.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then on the phone try to get the phone to go into recovery. older recoveries had a hard time getting into recovery from bootloader.
if that doesn't work boot into your regular rom and run "adb reboot recovery" make sure usb debugging is turned on.
the website says "You must be S-OFF or have taken HTC's unlock to use a recovery on your device!"
I do not have a S-OFF device. Is it impossible to go into recovery? Should I try this method regardless?

You need an unlocked boot loader to install recovery.
You can do it with S-off also.

Ok. PM me your teamviewer.
And don't post a question in the general section next time.
But don't go remake this thread, just wait for it to be moved.
