I feel like a noob, but does anyone know how to disable vibrate on HTC calendar even reminders? I don't use vibrate mode for any notifications, so when the thing vibrates on the desk next to me I always jump like a little girl.

I'm sure there is something out there that does this, but I can't seem to find it. Here's my situation. I turn my phone on silent every night before bed. I do this so that texts and email notifications don't wake me up. However, I would like calls to come through for emergency reasons and also for the alarm to be able to sound if set. When I wake up, I turn my phone back on vibrate so that I am alerted when I get new messages. Right now I'm just sleeping with it all on silent and hoping I don't need it. When I absolutely need the alarm, I have to mess with the settings to turn off email and text alerts. This seems too much to just turn off text & email alerts though. Is there any way I can save settings into a profile and just change profiles. One would be Night mode (calls & alarm on, notifications off) and Day mode (all on). Thanks for the help
I have a HTC Touch Pro by the way.
if i'm not mistaken you can use PhoneAlarm to set profiles for seperate services.
I don't have a land line & leave my phone charging on my headboard at night. My wife has gotten really ticked at it vibrating & making noise whenever it gets an E-mail in the middle of the night.
Is there an easy way to mute everything but the normal phone ringer (still want to get calls in the middle of the night if they come in)? I don't want to mute the phone entirely, as I could miss emergency calls. I'd love to have it quiet everything at a certain time, or at the push of a button, or by running an app or something easy.
The wife is currently threatening to fling my phone out the window if it wakes her up again, & I don't want to disable the sound/vibrate entirely as it wouldn't be effective during the day.

a couple options...
Change Activesync to use off-peak times and set email delivery as manual so that you have to tell it to check for mail during off-peak times. Then you will only get sounds emergency calls, drunk dials, emergency texts, and drunk texts in the middle of the night. This also assumes you don't have any reminders set to sound at midnight...
Use a profile app like G-Profile or PhoneAlarm to control advanced automatic switching of profiles/sounds/notifications based on time of day and day of week or other advanced switching options.
the version of htc volume overlay i have lets me turn the volume down on system all the way while keeping the ringer one up.
Sorry for the Caps, but I asked this question a few months back, and all I got were apps to set up profiles. I could care less about those.
I want a process running in the background that will allow me to silence an incoming notification (MMS, SMS, Email, FaceBook, Battery Low, Connected to computer, etc etc).
Example: Sitting in surprise meeting, and forgot to silence my phone. If I were to get a phone call, I can mash the hard buttons through my pants, and the ringtone goes silent, just like that. I want that functionality for a notification sound. Say, somebody sends me a text message, and for that individual i have "Bye Bye Bye" from N'Sync as their ringtone.
If that were to happen in the meeting, I would have to adjust, pull my giant phone out of my pocket, wake up the screen, unlock it, then pull down the notification bar. By the time I silenced the phone, the song would have through the second verse, and my reputation shattered.
So, if theres any apps like that, I would love to know about them.
Current phone Droid X with Liberty 1.0 ROM.
Any one?

I'm a guy who likes his phone to be as quiet as possible. It's always in vibrate. However, there are times where I'd like to hear some notifications, say text messages or calls from people I'm expecting, or other events relevant at the time but everything else is still suppressed to vibration. Is something like this possible through an app, or is it something that requires a bit of modding in Android? It's more convenience and definitely something I could live without, but it'd still be nice.
Make sure your phone is set to vibrate on all events. Change the ringtone of what you don't want to vibrate to a silent ringtone, and what you do want to ring to an audible one.

I upgraded to an Android 11 phone. I've been using Pimlical Calendar for years and I depend on the alarms to remind me about appointments. I do this in Calendar by setting alarms for the new appointment. I like that in the past I couldn't ignore these notifications. They remind me "you have a meeting in 1 hour", you have a meeting in 30 minutes, etc. This works because I have the reminders vibrate and I wear my phone in a belt holster. So they really interrupt what I'm doing and I have to look at what it's reminding me of. I seem to remember that maybe this won't work in Android 11. And now I see that those reminders trigger an innocuous Notification which I can see on Swipe-Down. Those unobtrusive Notifications will not be good enough. I've already had a couple of alarms only set off a notification, and I missed them. Is there a workaround, I need very annoying vibrating appointment reminders.
