Atrix-2 Bootstrap on 2.3.6 - Motorola Atrix 2

Hi,
I am running on 2.3.6 Root with some of ODEX mods[like battery and reboot menu] ( Thank you Alteredkindness's )
I have CWM reboot via Atrix 2 Bootstrap and its been build to show CWM on every reboot.
When i was playing around I uninstalled Atrix 2 Bootstrap without thinking much. Is this okay? or its advisable that I have to re-install Atrix 2 Bootstrap?
I still get CWM on every reboot and clicking reboot from CWM gets me to phone.
I am just trying to understand this as how it works, can some one please shed some light?
Thank you.
-Nambi

You don't need the bootstrap apk, as long as you used it to install the CWM recovery, you're fine. The bootstrap apk becomes useless after installing CWM, that's why you have to click "deny" in superuser after install of CWM...

Cannot root with Cwm

I am having issues with rooting via kernal. I tried to flash a kernal with Cwm but it would just hang. Pulled battery and tried again. It may be a problem with Cwm? Could someone tell me what color latest cwm should be and is it supposed to have a back up option on it? Tia!

latest CWM is the orange 4.0.1.4 version... if you're having problems rooting just flash a superuser.zip, search the dev section for it as myself and others have posted it recently

ok well this should do it:
1. power off phone and take out battery
2. open odin on your pc
3. hold volume down button and connect to pc, should show download mode and should show up in odin, let go of volume down
4. put battery back in, uncheck 'auto reboot' and put the CWM file in PDA
5. push start and let odin flash the file, should only take a few seconds
6. unplug phone from pc, then remove battery
7. put battery back in
8. hold volume up, home button and power button until you see 'Samsung' then let go of power button
that should get you into CWM and you can work from there, since you don't have a custom kernel to make CWM 'stick' on your phone do not let the phone boot up or you will need to odin CWM again... you basically get one try with it
That must be my problem i will try

[Q] Flashing CWM onto rooted SGS 4G

Hey. So I rooted my T-Mobile SGS 4G (stock 2.2 firmware) with SuperOneClick. That was super easy, I tested it out with a few utilities and I definitely have root.
So I went into rom manager and pushed the button to flash clockwork mod. It asked me for superuser status, said it was successful, but then it boots into the stock samsung recovery. I've tried this several times and I always have the same result. I'm sorry if there's an answer on this already but I'll be damned if I could figure out how to search for it without coming up with a bunch of unrelated problems.
Thanks!
Try going into clockwork and choosing boot to recovery then after that if it goes into stock recovery choose reinstall packages sometimes you have to choose reinstall twice. That's how I got mine into cwm first time

Oh no that's the problem, I can't get clockwork to boot. No matter how many times I install it using the installer inside rom manager, the stock recovery boots up.
ROM MANAGER DOES NOT WORK. USE KRYLONS CWM FINAL IN THE DEV SECTION.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Yea I no, but wen u boot into it you get the stock 3e recovery and there is an option to reinstall packages
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
You need to download krylons modified recovery.bin file and use a file explorer app to push the file to system/bin. You need to also have the file update.zip on the root of your SD card. Then you boot into stock recovery and choose reinstall packages. This will boot you into cwm.

Just Rooted w/ Easy Root Need help

I just finished rooting my Verizon GS3 using the Easy root method ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVRjAiW7HdE&feature=plcp ) and everything went well, Installed Rom Manager, flashed Verizon GS3 CWM Recovery. Booted into Recovery, went to make a backup and it keeps giving me an error "Error while backing up boot image!" I've checked and it seems the the root took just fine, Superuser is working. I just can't make a backup in CWM. Please help
If you're using CWM Touch than that's the cause for not backing up. Use a non-touch CWM, preferably 6.0.1.0 so that you have the ability to use kexec and custom roms later to prevent potential issues later

You Da'man! Thanks so much
No problem, glad to help!
And meant to say custom kernels

What's a non-touch cwm?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
when you go into Rom Manager and flash CWM it asked me if I want to purchase the "Touch". I did the first time I and was having an issue making a backup. When you are in CWM you usually have to use your volume up/down to toggle through it. If you add the "tough" you can use the screen and just tough what command you want to do. For some reason it didn't like it and wouldn't let me make a backup. So I flashed CWM again and it let me make the backup.

[HELP] Why is EZ Recovery not working

Ok so I'm stock rooted and I want to install CWM 6.0.1.0, so I downloaded Ez Recovery from the market and also the apk from the original post here on XDA. But it will not install CWM. I tried all the options. Recovery, Hybrid, and Stock, but when I flash them and it says it was installed successfully I press reboot it takes me to stock recovery every time.
Whats the problem???
Is it possible someone could provide me with a link to the recovery img file or tell me how to fix this problem?
Thanks
This may be obvious, but are you selecting reboot recovery from ez app menu?
Yes, when I flash my recovery I press reboot
Have you run the superuser app initially? I had similar behavior in which it said it flashed but still had stock recovery. The initial run of superuser got things going and when I ran ez recovery again it asked for root permissions and worked as expected...

I saw you post this in beans thread but I didn't have a fix but then I remembered how I fixed this on my phone. Uninstall ez recovery and reinstall from market. There was a problem with the version numbers or something and this fixed that problem for me

I was having the same issue as the OP and your advice did it for me! I went back to stock about 2 days ago and I was already getting bored with it.

Wondering if any of you guys have had the problem where it flashes the recovery successfully and you can reboot in CWM / TWRP just fine. Then once you get back into the system and try reboot recovery again, it goes straight to the stock recovery.
Is this normal? Do I have to flash the recover everytime?
There is something you need to do in recovery to make it persist, some option you need to select. I'm still not clear on what it is, because its been a long time since I used CWM. I hope someone will chime in with exactly what needs to be done to make it stick so I can be clear on it as well.

When you select reboot, it will tell you that it is reverting back to stock recovery unless you fix it. You scroll down and select yes and you are good to go.

This happened to me as well when I first rooted. I had to reboot a few times until the proper recovery booted. Now that I have flashed a Rom, CWM recovery boots properly every time.

Question about bootstrap recovery

Hi all...
I have atrix 2 runing stock 4.04 and its rooted. I installed boot strap recovery but after reading the forums its seems that BMM is much better. I didn't flesh nothing over boot strap recovery sense i installed it. So my question is can i just delete boos strap recovery through the titanium back up and install BMM?
Thank you in advance.

Yes, that is correct but before you uninstall it, clear its app data in settings>apps first, then uninstall, then you should be fine to install BMM from the play store.
To be on the safest side, I'd recommend doing this at full charge on your battery just in case something goes wrong and you have to fxz (return to stock after a softbrick). Follow the instructions in the BMM installation thread as well so you know what to do afterwards.
