I already tried that I was on CM9 and downgraded to the original ROM 4.0.3
after that I noticed the internal space only 1.9 GB
I think the only way to recover the space is pit file I tried to search but P5100 does not same to have .pit file
please some one help me my tab is new

CM9 and Stock ROM have different mount points. You should have formatted system before flashing.
You can do 2 things
Ask someone on stock ROM to share their vold.fstab (/system/etc) and build.prop files. Replace them, set correct permissions and reboot.
Or
A long shot - reflash CM9
Check storage if it is now shown correctly.
Now, in CWM format system, data, cache, dalvik cache and Battery status.
Flash stock ROM.

I reinstalled the stock rom and used pit file signed_espresso_20120220_16G
it is for Galaxy Tab 2 7.0
it went ok with odin
however the spaced claimed is 12 GP
I need apit file for tab 2 p5100
I search every where it is just not there
do you think
Ask someone on stock ROM to share their vold.fstab (/system/etc) and build.prop files. Replace them, set correct permissions and reboot.

this will work

I think it is the normal space give to user when the device is new as the remaining space is taken by system, system apps, rom, kernel and format table data do not expect pure 16 g

I had the same problem with same device:
what I did is go to settings, back up and reset, factory data reset....and I got back 16 GB .

Oops! I have just done what was not supposed to be done!
I have a 32GB P5100 and have just flashed with 'signed_espresso_20120220_16G.PIT' file AND 'Re-Partition' ticked
The Tab still works, obviously minus 16GB ... aaaargh!
I have tried my best googling skills but have miserably failed to find a 32GB PIT file (if these exist)
What do I do?

U can go to: SamMobile Firmware and search U device, after that, in the "Additional files" U can see the "Flashprograms". Download it. In the folder have file PIT for 8GB and 16GB.

Thank you, however my device is 32GB. The pit files from Sammobile are for 8G and 16G only
Am I missing something? There has to be more 32GB Tab 2 users here?

It has 4 files:
Put CODE_T959VUVKG4_CL1385158_REV00_user_low_noship.ta r.md5 in PDA
Put Hawk_Sidekick_VibrantPlus_831.pit in PIT
Put SGH-T959V-CSC-TMB-VIBRANTP.tar.md5 in CSC
Put T959VUVKG4-Phone-CL1037720.tar.md5 in PHONE
Let ODIN decide what needs to be checked & flash.
No luck, did all the above. Worked great but still no internal storage. Still won't root. Oneclick just crashes. (probable because directory structure is F'ed)
One click won't work on gingerbread.

Yeah, SuperOneClick doesn't work on GB. There's a thread out there on how to root a GB ROM or you can just install one of drhonk's kernels that's rooted, has cwm, & voodoo. Grab the one for KG4 (as that's what you just flashed) here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194032
Use ODIN, put the file in the PDA section and flash.
Odin this. It might solve the problem. It'll revert you back to Froyo, but that's no big deal. Getting to GB is easy now.

The life of the memory card differs from the type of the card ( Class, materials used) & differs from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Only a manufacturer can give you approx. values for the information asked.
Hope this helps.

its depends upon you, how do you handle it..several Formats & deleting data makes it slow & life getting lower due to bad sectors..so its might be infinite or may be 1 minutes..depend upon uses..
One thing i have learnt, removing card and inserting frequently RUINS the card , i have lost 2 card due to that, now i only connect the phone and transfer the data,
never remove the card....
this is my advice.

I'm missing the internal SD partition on my P5100. Please Help!!!

When I check out my available storage, it shows nothing for USB internal storage. It only shows the "Device Memory" of 1.97gb as the total space. If I put in an external SD card, it does show that. I know that it will not show my full 16gb, but there should be an un-mounted partition of approximately 10gb free.
I think it may have happened as I tried installing a couple of roms. I installed the CM10 JB and a stock rooted 4.04 one. I just got the device and it came with 4.03 on it. I have tried reinstalling different stock ones and they all show no internal usb storage anymore. How can I tell if there is an unused partition on the device? I have ADB/Shell access, but not sure what commands to use. When I go to CWM and mount the "USB Storage" it doesn’t mount it.
I have tried to fix permissions, reset everything and installed the stock rom from odin and CWM. I also tried CWM 6. I appreciate any help on this matter.
Thanks.
I had the same problem I solved it by using .PIT file with stock ROM
and repartitioning when using odin

I just tried that and i'm still having the same problems. This is what I did. I put the file you gave me in the .pit box and put the Russian Stock 4.04 in the PDA box. I made sure the Re-Partition box was checked. Do I need CWM installed before I do this? What stock file did you use? I appreciate it.
I just tried it again with Odin 1.87 and it worked!!! It now saws I have 12gb free. Is that normal? I assume therest is reserved for other things.
Thank you so much!!!
One more question. Should I have a seperate partition for USB storage as I thought I did before? It use to say 1.97gb of device memory and 10gb of USB storage.
where did you download odin 1.87 the latest version i know is 1.85?

[Q] Ooops - Tab's funked. Help!

P6800 running Zeta
I was browsing facebook the other night when... shaboom - everything froze. No biggie I thought, I'll just do a little reset (I was getting a few FCs here and there anyway lately) and I'll be good to go...
NOPE. It started bootlooping at the initial Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 screen. I'm able to enter CWM recovery and even wipe the cache and flash ZIP files, but when I try to wipe data/factory reset, wipe the Dalvik cache or restore a Nandroid backupI get a System Error. It doesn't look good.
Is there a way to fix my seemingly funked /system without losing all my internal SD card data (where my Titanium backups reside) or to recover it before a full Odin flash?
Just tried again - it reboots and goes into a loop when I try to wipe data and dalvik, and when I try to restore a previous backup it gives me "Error while restoring /system!"
Any help greatly appreciated before it becomes a $600 door stop
Do you dare to wipe the system folder and follow by flashing another ROM?

Do you mean via Odin? Will I lose the data on my internal SD card by doing that? Is there any way of mounting the device in its current state as external storage on my PC to copy all data before a wipe?
ZhenMing: I'm not sure what you mean, but as I wrote above I am not able to wipe the system folder.
yes you will loose your data... i can give you another advice... but do this one carefully... the reason why your device cant wipe any /system or /data is because the corrupted partition... you need to check it... follow the guide in this thread...
USE ONLY PART 3... follow the guide start from this para to check your device...
Code:
Now we are going to use e2fsck to check our new partitions for errors, but not only, it also fixes some erros and it will even for example create lost & found in /data
So let's go, we'll begin with /system. If you're still in the (parted) shell, use ctrl+c and type "adb shell", then issue the following :

But won't it downsize the int sd size, if OP tab still under warranty, better to get it fix by samsung for free and not lost any space.
Just reading the 1st post of the ZETA rom thread.
He says he is using stock Kernel.
He says every 5 lines, that you should full wipe...
without giving any sort of warning that it will eventually brick your device.

Tried that one, but it won't mount unfortunately. The external will no problem, but when I try with the internal it just... well it does nothing. It's a bummer cause all my most recent backups are on the internal. Any other way of retrieving my data short of extracting the chip?
Giving it back to Samsung sounds like the best option, but I'm worried cause it has a custom ROM and it's rooted. Anyone has experience doing that?
Also I thought full wipes were good, but you're saying they eventually brick the device? How come? I thought having a custom recovery meant it would be virtually impossible to brick my device... and the weird thing is that it happened during normal usage, not while flashing.
Anyway, my priority is obviously to get my tab working again, but retrieving my internal data is second highest. Isn't there a flashable ZIP that would copy the contents of the internal SD into an external SD card? Surely this has happened to someone before me?
Thanks for all the answers, really appreciated!

Gotcha! Will try that one and post result - thanks!
how did your partition check go?
i'm annoyed that some partitions can be corrupted randomly even doing some mundane stuffs
even on stock ICS fw, i encountered DATA corruption by just deleting a contact
i guess you have softbrick..
here is what i did:
-flash stock Honeycomb firmware using Odin
-forced tablet into stock recovery mode
-wipe Cache/Data/Factory Reset
- reboot
when your tab is working again you could backup files from your internal EMMC and you could flash ROMS from there

Thanks for that. I haven't tried anything yet as I'm away till Weds, but I will then and let you know. So you're saying by flashing stock HC via Odin and wiping/resetting everything through stock recovery I won't lose my internal storage data?
that's what i experienced..but i could not guarantee that it will be the same for your device
i noticed that because old folder are not deleted when i rebooted, but i haven't checked if the system folders are cleared
to have a clean reflash i also format/sdcard on recovery..but don't do this on stocl ICS recovery since you might risk increasing the damage
try to format via odin the Honeycomb fw first [don't put PIT file neither enable Repartion, just normal flash]
then force it to enter recovery mode when it bootloops after reset
you might fix your device this way if it has softbrick
just resort to using PIT/repartition as your last option
Again I would not recommend repartition when tab still under warranty. Repartition the last resort only if the tab is without warranty after failing all other alternatives.

Ok I'm gonna do it. There are dozens of versions of HC for the 6800 though, can I just pick any or do I need to find out what it was running out of the box? Mine came from Singapore.

Can not access internal storage after flashing custom rom

I flashed DOT OS in my redmi 4x through TWRP recovery. After couple of minutes i am not able to access internal storage. ES file explorer says "sd card not found" even pc is not showing anything its empty . at the same time i can see all the folders and files in twrp recovery. If i flash stock rom things will go back to normal , but i want to use this rom what should i do ? Please help me , i have tried to wipe everything but that didn't help me

Get storage.xml file from your stock rom and put it in /data/system/storage.xml in your current rom.
This may fix your internal storage problem.
Take nandroid backup first before trying this because I am not sure this will work or not.
This ROM.....
This ROM is not properly built by the developer, so you need flash another trusted and stable custom ROM like lineage is and aosp.
Visit this XDA thread to find stable ROM for your device.

Can you explain further on this pls, I have a similar issue here.
