I somehow manages to mess up my internal storage partition. I tried to redo everything through odin, but even .PIT file doesn't seem to fix. Anyone have any idea how to fix, i'm at a loss. My phone is working thanks to UVKF1-one click but i have no access to internal storage and can't root my phone.

It has 4 files:
Put CODE_T959VUVKG4_CL1385158_REV00_user_low_noship.ta r.md5 in PDA
Put Hawk_Sidekick_VibrantPlus_831.pit in PIT
Put SGH-T959V-CSC-TMB-VIBRANTP.tar.md5 in CSC
Put T959VUVKG4-Phone-CL1037720.tar.md5 in PHONE
Let ODIN decide what needs to be checked & flash.
No luck, did all the above. Worked great but still no internal storage. Still won't root. Oneclick just crashes. (probable because directory structure is F'ed)
One click won't work on gingerbread.

Yeah, SuperOneClick doesn't work on GB. There's a thread out there on how to root a GB ROM or you can just install one of drhonk's kernels that's rooted, has cwm, & voodoo. Grab the one for KG4 (as that's what you just flashed) here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194032
Use ODIN, put the file in the PDA section and flash.
Odin this. It might solve the problem. It'll revert you back to Froyo, but that's no big deal. Getting to GB is easy now.

Weird. Have you shut the phone down, removed the sdcard, and reseated it?

Update: 08/22/2011
CWM 4.0.1.5
Code:
Changelog:
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_bootable_recovery/commits/gingerbread
Also changed the Init logo. You should like it :P
This brings you up to date.
DOWNLOAD
Internal: http://krylon360.com/file_host/G2x/nvflash-internal-08222011.zip
External: http://krylon360.com/file_host/G2x/nvflash-external-08222011.zip
To flash, use NVFLASH.
I am using Chris's nvflash script from the original cwm. I modified it to flash the new recovery image.
Instructions
Power off phone
take battery out
hold vol up and down and plug in USB
You wont see anything, but it should mount
(If you get an error USB Device not found after running the script, unplug from pc and phone, and redo it)
extract file
type ./flash-recovery.sh and enter
once you see .img sent successfully, unplug usb and put bat back in
hold vol down + power, once you see the 2nd logo, let go
OLD!
This is the newest version of CWM compiled from Source. Along with this comes some much needed changes.
1st and foremost: I am not responsible for any bricks. Know what you are doing before attempting this.
Code:
New Version Changes 06/16/2011
Reverted back to Yellow Color Scheme (this was causing source not to sync)
What ever else changed with the source
This is just to bring you guys to the latest CWM Source.
New Host :)
Changes:
Red font (Much like Voodoo Red CWM) to show EXT4 Support
Able to backup and restore both ext3 and ext4 without any issues
(restore ext3 over ext4 and vice-versa)
EDIT: 2 versions now avail. These instructions are for the Internal SD version only
CWM now mounted to Internal SD. Brought back flashing from Internal SD due to request.
External SD is also mounted, however at this time, unable to flash from both internal and external.
If you would like your old CWM backups, be sure to copy over the Clockworkmod folder from your external to your internal sd.
External version instructions.
There aren't any. Flash as you are use to with the 3.0.2.7 Yellow recovery
To flash, use NVFLASH.

New Update.
Updated 2nd Boot Logo, now no longer Blue LG
Fixed USB Mass Storage option. Now mounts to the PC when selecting.
Reboot option is due to a kernel issue on stock. If you have CM7, this works though.

you can now backup and restore ext4 based partitions.
This also give the option to have the latest cwm, and gives the option to be able to flash from internal sd if you happen to have a small microsd, anotherwords if you have only a 2gb microsd, go for the internal version because that will give you more space for roms, kernels, and mods, and backups.
Thanks Krylon!

UnionMount/aufs/unionfs?
Anybody remember the discussions and use of aufs (https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Aufs) and unionfs (https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/UnionFS) back in the G1 days? Lots of discussions here in XDA about it but I believe it was available in haykuro, cyanogen and jesusfreak builds. It allows two separate filesystems to appear on the same mount point. I'm not sure what issues exist with it today but maybe some of the kernel hackers could comment?
Anyone else notice that the SD card space free is messed up on the external version? Still seems to be reading the free space from Internal, although SEEMS to be backing up to external SD (as its not failing w/ on 300MBs free)
EDIT: LMAO! Guess i accidentally flashed the wrong version. That's what happens when I work on my phone before coffee........

Is "Settings > Applications > Unknown sources" checked? If not, that's probably your problem.
If anything, you could always just Odin KC1 instead. As what everyone has been saying, KD1 has a faulty system partition.
As for the 8GB sd card, Samsung decided to cheap out on the newer phones. All of them come shipped with 8GB sd cards now.
I would recommend odining kc1 for a fresh start plus you will have root. Then grab cwm final by krylon 360. Once you have all that up and running make a backup of the 8gb sdcard on your pc and format it inside the phone ,replace all the files you want plus the update.zip. reboot into recovery and see if you can adjust the mounts. If so now try flashing a rom. Most roms need the ext4 converter to install properly should it require this it should be stated in the op of the rom you intend to install if not read through the post a little to see if anyone else has had similar issues or had to use the ext4 converter. Hope this helps and you get things going for you girls phone.
Edit: also do not use rom manager as it is not for our phone yet.

What do you mean it won't work? did you make sure to press the mount r/w button before pasting the file? If there is an extension in the filename, remove it. And you don't install the update.zip, you just place it in the root of your sd and leave it there.

Is your recovery file named "recovery.bin"? If it is, you have to rename it to just "recovery". It won't overwrite properly if you don't do it that way. Maybe you should try using another root explorer. I use Super Manager and it works perfectly. Be sure to enable root function and r/w mode though.
What do you mean that you tried to reinstall via update.zip?
EDIT: Seems like jager555 beat me to it.
Also, you could redownload the recovery file and update.zip. Who knows, something might've happened during the download process and messed it up.

thanks for all the tips, while using root explorer it was in r/w mode and the update.zip i use so CWM works, on my phone sometimes it will go into the stock recovery (blue in color) i got to the second option reinstall pakages and it will do a quick flash and boot into CWM recovery (yellowish in color) im now running CWM red on my phone so its not an issue but cannot seem to get it to work on the GF phone, i have tried everything i can think of and followed all the tips here and still cannot get it to work
leave your sd card and sim card out of the phone and odin to kc1. when it is complete, let the phone sit for 10-15 minutes. put the sd card in and then redownload krylons cwm final and move the two files to the right locations, making sure they are named properly and you OVERWRITE the files that are already there. once it is done, power off the phone, remove your sd card and do a full format. when this is done, put back the update.zip on the root of the sd card, put on the ext4 converter, as well as icbinb. these are the only 3 files you will need right now. start up the phone by pressing the 3 button combo and go into the orange cwm final. wipe cache and factory reset. check mounts, flash ext4 converter and then flash the rom and reboot. im not sure why your cache is the problem. you can try to odin to kb5 and see if that gives you different results. but if that doesnt work, i dont know what to tell you.
Hi this is what i've tried for hours and still doesn't work. :
Flash XXKPE
Flash XXKPH
Flash CFROOT with custom kernel from skin1980
In CWM Recovery mode :
-Backup
-Install ext4 conversion script
and this is where I get a problem, I try to restore but it keeps saying MD5 mismatch, I've done the whole process again and did a backup with a different name "1" and it still doesn't work !
Thanks for your help
How large is the external SD card? I've had this message with having insufficient space on the external SD and I thought that the backup was successfully made.

Well 32 gb is fine I guess
It is fine. Flash everything again. KPH and CFROOT 09-05-2011. Then do the same process then report to this thread.
BTW, you used the latona pit file on the first flash right? for KPE I mean. Also, try to use the stock kernel with CFROOT first. Don't use the OC kernel just to rule out some gremlins that may cause errors.

I just flashed KPH and the CFROOT stock, did a backup with CWM then installed the ext 4 script in recovery mode, tried to recover ... AGAIN ****ing MD5 mismatch
I think i'm gonna give up this is pissing me off I flashed like 15 times and lost all my data I need to restore...
Wait, do you restart after you flash the ext4 zip then go to recov mode again to restore?
Also, take everything out of your sd card and just retain the ext4.zip and whatever cwm flash zips u need.
Still doesn't work even with restarting and I can't boot since it's stuck on samsung screen T.T

This happend to me before, it causing of fw download corrupted. redownload fw again.
Do not restart after applying the zip and just restore the nandroid backup.
My first attempts were without restarting as told by many posts from others
HI
I agree that you need to redownload All ROM + CF Root
flash ROM, then make sure ROM is OK
Hardware reset
then install CF-Root
make sure All fine then.
full NANDROID BAckup
reboot
then i wish you luck in EXT4
GoodLuck
I faced the same problem a few times, but haven't found the root cause. I have some theories though:
Md5 mismatch means something caused your Nandroid backup to get corrupted.
Do not touch the folder in which the backup is placed.
Do not rename anything.
Do not move the folder or it's contents.
Do not clear the cache in CWM recovery mode.
Format your external SD card once through the settings menu in the phone.
Don't use the windows (or any) chkdsk (error checker) on the SD cards.
Again these are just theories, haven't really found the cause of this error.

How to check if file system is ext4???
@Cix: usually a quadrant benchmark is a good indication of that.
To definitively confirm, use adb shell :
Look up the thread on ext4 conversion and read some of the comments. Or better yet, use the search tool.

Could anyone give me a hand and post their vold.fstab? My external SD will not mount..... and before the flames start I have changed mmc2 to mmc1.... and yes I did save it.
For what its worth I have also Odin to stock froyo, heimdall to stock gb, heimdall entropy dd.... flashed community kernel, infusion a2 kernel, entropy DD kernals (3/4/12 & 11/27/11) flashed Zeus & R3velation... and finally heimdall to gb then heimdall entropy DD ... then flashed Zeus again... and edited vold.fstab to mmc1 saved and rebooted.... still no external SD....
I wiped and formatted the SD (fat32) on my laptop as well....
I'd just like to see the vold.fstab from someone's infuse with working external SD....that way I can compare and try to get to the bottom of this myself without a huge back and forth thread Thanks in advance. Flame away.

fwiw, you flashed the comm kernel onto a gb rom..may have borked your partition...start over?
Thanks for the reply Qkster! So I used heimdall to gb... and this time I did flash the second time with flash bootloaders checked. I then flashed the heimdall entropy dd kernel package (yours). BTW thanks again for the vold.fstab info... it matched my changed version.
Something strange I noticed in CMW.... if I go to Mounts and storage and try to mount /sd-ext I get
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk1p2
(File exists)
Error mounting SDEXT:!
Any ideas? I'm thinking something is borked somewhere.... lol... obviously
I don't mess around too much with the mount settings.
Some may be incorrect, idk.
I only use it to format certain things when installling a rom.
The mmc2 mmc1 switch occurs when you switch kernels from different source.
Froyo comm kernel are based on att stock
Our current gb kernels are based on rogers' source, their sd access is switched
When you can't access your microSD, check for the change in mmc2 mmc1

Yeah, that's my preference as well. I don't use HDMI, so I run Entropy's test kernel.
Imo, running with the stock kernel is intended for those who aren't flash addicts , love their HDMI, or for us to put it on phone of other people we may know that want some features but we don't want to come back to us for issues.
When I check out my available storage, it shows nothing for USB internal storage. It only shows the "Device Memory" of 1.97gb as the total space. If I put in an external SD card, it does show that. I know that it will not show my full 16gb, but there should be an un-mounted partition of approximately 10gb free.
I think it may have happened as I tried installing a couple of roms. I installed the CM10 JB and a stock rooted 4.04 one. I just got the device and it came with 4.03 on it. I have tried reinstalling different stock ones and they all show no internal usb storage anymore. How can I tell if there is an unused partition on the device? I have ADB/Shell access, but not sure what commands to use. When I go to CWM and mount the "USB Storage" it doesn’t mount it.
I have tried to fix permissions, reset everything and installed the stock rom from odin and CWM. I also tried CWM 6. I appreciate any help on this matter.
Thanks.

I just tried that and i'm still having the same problems. This is what I did. I put the file you gave me in the .pit box and put the Russian Stock 4.04 in the PDA box. I made sure the Re-Partition box was checked. Do I need CWM installed before I do this? What stock file did you use? I appreciate it.
I just tried it again with Odin 1.87 and it worked!!! It now saws I have 12gb free. Is that normal? I assume therest is reserved for other things.
Thank you so much!!!
One more question. Should I have a seperate partition for USB storage as I thought I did before? It use to say 1.97gb of device memory and 10gb of USB storage.
