HFS Jelly Bean - T-Mobile LG G2x

Is it true that HFS got Jelly Bean, I read it somewhere? I'm running 1.9 but it doesn't look like JB...idk it may just be me. Lol
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app

As far as I know the only jelly bean posted was one that wasn't booting for people to get a logcat I haven't heard anything else

Hell is working on a JB rom the last I knew and yes he did release a copy the other day but it was a no go. Just know this, Hell and I'm sure other devs are working on something and when it's ready and stable that's when we'll see it. I would rather wait for a stable rom than grab the first wonky version that comes out days after it was officially released

It'll come out... eventually, there's your answer .
Eagles blood just released alpha jelly bean rom
G2x
Will it even be worth it to put JB on the G2X given the fact that we still don't have drivers for ICS?
If you can't live with how ICS runs you'll definitely regret flashing JB. Awesome work that they actually have it booted and semi functional at this stage.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Until we get necessary drivers for hardware acceleration on ICS, JB will perform just like ICS at best on this phone. I'm sure all of the devs on it are working hard to get all they can functional, props to Team EB for getting it booted, but we're lucky to have ICS hacked together for us, JB is pushing it on this phone. Just my opinion, take it how you want .

About jelly bean on galaxy tab plus

Hi guys. I want to ask all who know or have information, we'll have on our tablet the cm10 or the official jelly bean ?
I have own the moto defy and it has cm10. But its hardware is not much powerful as galaxy tab. May be someone devs like aorth will work on the cm10 for our tab.
for me, i quite happy to current ics performance. Jelly bean look nice, but 1 important feature missing is big impact for android user - disable flash support.
so for me, even no jelly bean update for 7+ still fine for me, at least a stable and smooth ics for my 7+ :good:
i don't like custom rom, thats a lot bug and app competible issue, its fun to try and play, but not for daily use
There's already a "hack" for flash on Jelly Bean...
command lehoced
komoornik good news. Please inform link, i want to see

ICS is pretty awesome to me. I'd really like Google Now and the Project Butter stuff in Jellybean, but ultimately the decision to treat 7in tablets as large phones with a phone style interface is very off putting.
Well, me also loving the buttery sleek on 7+ now, but for sure.. smething like jelly bean will surely make our 7+ awesome.. and with flash hack for 4.1 already surfaced d wind.. im more than ready to supply ma dear 7+ with somthing much awesome..
So is there Jelly Bean for Tabplus ???Or is someone working on it???

I've been watching locerra's work on github and it looks like he's been pushing some stuff into a jelly bean branch. I'm assuming he's begun work on it, but until he or Alan further clarify things, take it with a grain of salt.
I also recall someone (Alan perhaps?) mention that our tabs will need some updated drivers and such to fully function and play well with JB, so in other words, we might have to struggle a bit for CM10 like we did with CM9 initially.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
ahhh. you ruined the surprise! haha well, just wait and see, there's a comment somewhere on the ohanar/locerra's github saying that he managed to get it booting, but with somethings still broken(my guess, wireless?). anyway, don't push them too hard, let have a stable cm9 first!

Stable OS replacement for stock froyo?

I have been using froyo since I bought the phone. I have been resistant to replacing it with a custom ROM because that always led me down a road of instability on past phones but from what I see of ICS, it looks like a very good upgrade.
That being said, the current jelly beans upgrade still has bugs (namely gps) so I was wondering if there are any previous OS replacements of gingerbread or is that are stable and fully functional?

"gingerbread or ICS"
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Most stable and completely functional would be GB roms like Emancipation or Aeon.
ICS is also quite stable and functional, except for the 720 video recording being choppy, but if it is something you don't use then this could be the one for you. I would recommend cm9, uniyumaporn or remICS-ux
Sent from my sweet and buttery Infuse
most stable and smooth would be stock samsung gingerbread. but cm9 is also a very good choice(smoother than stock actually but no mhl). and gapps in ics are much improved. voice search in particular is way more usable.
I would suggest Aeon for stability.
There are still a handful of bugs on CM9 and CM10. Nothing that stops us early adopters...
if GPS were fixed JB
For stability I loved Emann. Then switched to uniporn until cm10 got GPS up and running. From my experience, as of now Scotts cm10 8/8 build with 7/26 gapps is running perfect for me. I haven't moved to the 8/10 build yet because I don't have use for the mtd partitioning as of yet. I've always had the mind set of don't change a running system. If new features come out in a later build I will definitely update to it. But right now my phone is running super smooth. With working GPS
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
Don't go JB for at least a couple months. The builds are unstable and they come frequently.
I would go for Entropy CM9 as even if a new build is released you can just flash it on top with no wipe (keep your apps/settings)

Stock LB3. I use it for stability.

Hello All,
I have been using my Froyo Inuse for a long time now, and it is now showing it's age, with more aps not working anymore as they get new versions. Can someone lead me to some instructions about how to go about upgrading from 2.2 Froyo?
Thanks

Here go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613523 this is the UCLB3 gingerbread 2.3.6 the option C is rooted with CWM recovery you need to flash the gingerbread bootloaders too, there you will find the instructions to flash this update and the program to update your phone (odin)

Go to the development threads and seek your stable rom, stability is up to what you do with your device.
As these threads are way too similar to "best" rom threads, and they always become arguments over what rom is best/stable - This thread is closed.

CM9 non-kexec

Does anyone know if there is a non-kexec cm9 port available? Or can i flash the the old version with a new kernal? I have been searching, but it seems that all the focus is on JB. I want to run a stable vanilla build while the kinks get worked out in cm10. Thanks much.

I am actually curious here. What does CM9/ICS have that the CM10/JB builds don't? I obviously jumped right to JB because I could but is CM9 worth the step back?
Anyway, I think there is a way to remove kexec. I don't have time to search for it right now, but I will try to remember to pop back to this thread tonight and see if anyone else hasn't helped you yet.

CM9 doesn't have any features that CM10 doesn't. I am just looking for a stable daily driver. I tried CM10, and there are a few bugs that are deal breakers for me. I understand CM9 has a stable release, I just can't find anyone that has ported it to the vzw gs3. Thanks for your help, if you come across anything I'd be grateful. I'll keep searching and post if I find any worthy info.

You know, ive been thinking the same thing. Ever since I got my original droid, ive been hooked on CM. Amazingly fast and vanilla. Now that I got rid of my iPhone and got the GS3 for Verizon, I want that goodness back without the nightly status. Jellybean isnt a big deal to me. Im not commiting to CM10 nigthlys till its at least in RC status. But i do however want CM9 stable for the GS3
I'm on offical JB AOKP test build 6. Loving it. Been rocking it for about 5 days without any issues.
I am very particular about bugs too because i use my phone for work so much and can't deal with issues.
You might give it a go.

Just switched from ios to droid

Hey everybody I just switched to DROID from using ios the past 4 years and I'm really happy with my choice. The iPhone 5 was the last straw for me so instead I picked up a feature packed galaxy siii. I want to thank you guys for the tutorials you guys have posted as it really helped in understanding how to flash the custom roms. I have my siii set just how I want. I just have one question if someone doesn't mind answering. When the official jellybean update comes out will I need to revert back to stock rom to update or can I update ota on a custom rom? Please excuse me if I didn't post this in the right section. This is my first post. Thanks for all your hard work.
I believe you would have to revert to stock and then do the ota.

Just wait for one of the Devs to do their magic on Jelly bean when it comes out. I'm sure it wont take them to long to do.
Congrats! Btw, if you're already running a custom rom, then you should probably just wait until the developer updates it, or install a new JellyBean rom when you're ready.

It kinda depends on how long you are willing to wait for the update. You definitely won't be able to accept the OTA update if you are running a custom rom, but devs will have a flashable version on XDA available almost immediately after the official is released. A couple of days later custom roms will start appearing.
Another reason to wait is there is always the possibility that the update will in some way disable root. This has happened before with several VRZ phones. So I would wait(a couple of hrs) till XDA gets their hands on the update before making any moves.

wait for a dev to release the official TouchWiz JB, then wipe data from cwm recovery and flash away. Fyi there currently is a TouchWiz JB leak by Incubus in the dev section, but its has bugs...If your looking for stability; Touchwiz ICS>AOSP(paranoidandroid,aokp,cm10)>Touchwiz JB Leak
And to help you, Synergy is a very stable ICS touchwiz ROM. Paranoid is a very great ROM but it might be a bit confusing for you since you're new with the tablet mod n tweaking APKs and such. CM10 is good but I like AOKP better for the customization

Nitro dont release builds based on a leaks...so until we get a official Touchwiz JB rom from VZW I doubt he will release anything!
Welcome to the Android community!
There are lots of good ROM choices and Jelly bean is available as a teaser if you'd like to check it out
My favorite ICS ROM is Synergy
My favorite JB ROM is Jellywiz
Enjoy and happy flashing !!!
You can make a nandroid backup of your current setup which saves everything, all your data/games. and try one of the current JB roms. I am currently on ICS cleanrom, and been thinking about waiting for a 100% working one to come around. The nandroid backup is so you can easily go back to your old setup if you don't like the newer rom.

He's working on an aosp JB build, has a working alpha right now, but until he gets his device this week, he can't work out the bugs quickly. You will see eclipse...I'm guessing pretty quickly after he gets his phone
He will have a TW Rom out...but I'm sure he will wait for the official JB build for that.
