[MOD] [SYSTEMUI] Enable Wifi Toggle / Reconfigure and theme toggles [ICS Blue!] - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

This update zip will replace the SystemUI.apk with one that has the wifi toggle switch enabled in the notification panel. Flash with recovery. A thanks to Cheater912 for requesting this mod.
Note: The toggle switches have been slightly rearranged per my preferences. If you would prefer do have a different order, post reply below.
Please note that there are different versions for stock and for beans rom. Beans are marked accordingly. However, the launcher you are using does not matter.

ICS Blue Mod EDIT: Ghosting should be fixed now
I will not be accepting custom requests for the ICS Blue series due to the number of files involved. I apologize for the inconvenience. I wasn't expecting such a huge amount of traffic and requests coming in. Thanks for being a great and active community. I will work to develop a solution with which to allow customized versions of it in the near future. I might create an ICS blue version for the second most popular toggle configuration based on dl count. Most likely one with MobileData in the first section.
The current configuration is as follows:
-Toggle Order: BT/Wifi/GPS/Orientation/Sound/PowerSave/Airplane/DrivingMode/MobileData/Sync
-All Toggles are themed blue
-Battery Icon is themed blue
EDIT: GREEN BEANS IS FIXED!! (no really, it is this time. tested + confirmed)
Both stock and beans versions are available. See attached
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To-Do List (bean support where noted) REQUESTS ARE NOW CLOSED (SEE EXPLANATION BELOW)
-kill gps crosshairs (multiple requests) See here for progress
-stock with wifi instead of screen rotation (stam2000) [In Progress]
-wifi/sound/mobiledata/screenrotate/airplane/powersave (cvballa3g0) [In Progress]
-remove "battery is full" notification (revolt1) See here for progress
-color date ICS blue (Schaweet)
-AntiToggle w/ ICS Blue battery (aatrek)
-Wifi/BT/GPS/Airplane/Orientation/Sound/DrivingMode/MobileData/Sync (Zoandroid)
-No Animation (MAD Industries)
if you are on this list and you are using the bean rom and the entry is not marked for bean, please send me a PM so I can correct it
CLOSED: Because I need to develop a system to more quickly and dynamically generate these files. This will allow a greater level of support as well as personalization. The tradeoff is time. I will have to devote a certain amount of time to this project instead of the requests once I am through with the current list. Rest assured if you are on the list right now, you have priority. Thank you for all the positive feedback this thread has gained. It's had much more impact than I could have imagined.

Could you possibly explain which xml files and which parts of those files to edit in order to get rid of certain toggles? I only want 5 total toggles on there and am just now learning how to edit this stuff.

WOW thanks a lot this is great! Can you post a Screen shot?
Any chance you can make one with just GPS, WiFi, Mobile Data, Airplane Mode, Bluetooth? in that order? Im on VZW btw

Sure. You will want to decompile /system/app/SystemUI.apk using apktool. (dont forget to apktool if framework-res.apk so you dont get decompile errors, also make a backup of SystemUI.apk) Then go to /SystemUI/res/values/arrays.xml and you will find a quicksettings array. That will list both the order and type of toggles. You just add/remove/move the lines around.
EDIT: Also, you cant just recompile and push to phone. You must recompile and pull the resources.arsc out of the new apk and then slip that into the original apk file that you pulled.
If you need more specific help, join me on freenode. #verizons3

Sheer awesomeness ....
Edit: Flashed this twice and nothing changed ...
Works now !!!

*Edit*
I tried this and it did add the wifi toggle.
*Edit*
Tried the new version and it worked. I love it when developers help us put the phone in a condition that the manufacturer intended and not the way Verizon wants it. Thank you.

edited now that it is fixed, working fine on stock GSIII rom using ADW EX Launcher, no deodex necessary

Pretty sure one must be deodex to use this.

also, it's fixed now.

Yeah it did nothing for me.

That is a significantly more amount of work. This is just a quick hack. That doesn't mean it wont be done though. I'll look into it. That's usually the sort of thing to include with a rom.

Yes, I updated the OP with an option for stock. Also, can you confirm this is now working? (just making sure)

Dumb noob question
What does "flash with recovery" mean?
If I already have a rooted phone, can I just rename the existing SystemUI.apk and copy this one into its directory with Root Explorer?

[All Carriers]Touch Wiz Themeing Questions

Since the carriers were split up and the most posts in the original thread came from the AT&T themers, I think we should make that the main thread.
[All Carriers]Touch Wiz Themeing Questions
Please post in the thread linked above so we can keep all the info in one thread.
Since themeing Samsung's TouchWiz UI is not quite as simple as AOSP, and sometimes even device specific, I thought it would be nice to have thread for the themers here to help each other, post tips and things like that so we can all learn and get some killer themes going on this thing.
Also, (if this gets becomes a sticky) we can keep the themeing question threads to a minimum.
For those of you that don't know me, I've been themeing Android for about a year and a half now. I started on the Epic 4G then moved over to the Nexus S 4G. I'm always willing to help others at time permits.
Happy Themeing!
Since the US carriers were combined into one forum, please note the carrier for you device when posting.

I think there will be many great themes. Hopefully a few will be from me.
Themed the E4GT....and I'll be theming the shizzzz out of the SGS3.
I havent themed in a while so I had to dust off the good ole apktools last night. Ya I'm need a refresher course lol
Dont have my phone yet but I started to poke around just to get a feel for things.
Well, with all the US variants merged to together this could get sticky in here. Hopefully we don't have any issues with soft bricks, data mishaps or anything like that like we did in the Galaxy S days from using themes for different carriers.
i have a version of systemui i modified for att
I have custom battery icons (not 1% as i used 7zip instead of a full rebuild)
i was able to change the battery icons,
loudness/slilent icon, airplane icon, wifi icons, alarm icon etc.
but for some reason the signal icon changes are not being applied.. i tried clearing cache, and dalvek cache.. still no go..
CAnnot figure out where it is getting the old icons from.. looked in framework-res as well but as far as i can tell they are not in there..
I have changed these sucessfully before in ics on my sgs ii..

Since Gingerbread those have been called out from the systemui. If you are running an odexed rom, there's your problem. Many of the png's are loaded in the odex file and cannot be changed just by editing the apk.

nope with the 7zip method (read up on it) you dont need that.. you just swap .png right in the .apk(s)
it is the stock rom\
and i succesfully did the same thing in the sgs ii systeui (and those icons are in there since i can see them).. however, maybe you are correct in that there are another copy in the .odex.. but it would be strange..

thanks cannot delete the .odex (systemui or framework etc) on a stock rom.. the phone wont boot. (i think) although i have a cwm backup.
faithfully waiting for the first 1% battery mod for stock one.. (if it combines the .odex into the .apk) for stock then i can put my own icons in on top and then i can delete the .odex

Ive looked in drawable-xhdpi in systemUI, with no luck. THANKS MAN.

Wow, I had never looked at the files yet on this phone. I've been trying to work on some AOSP themes with my Nexus S. I got the framework-res and twframework-res to decompile, but can't get the systemui to decompile. If you can give me some help on getting the systemui to decompile, I'll look for it.
Edit: Nevermind, got it.
Edit 2: I have not tried this, but taking an "educated guess" I would look at this in the values/drawables.xml:
Code:

#ff000000

If you want to change that to an image can change that to:
Code:

@drawable/pulldown_bg

then make an image named pulldown_bg and put it in the drawable-xhdpi folder.
Or (This is what make's me think this is right)
Look at the drawable/status_bar_expanded.xml and find:
Code:
android:background="@drawable/notification_header_bg"
and change that to:
Code:
android:background="@drawable/pulldown_bg"
making the image as above.
If it's not this then the other possibility I found was "notification_tracking_bg" which the color is called for in the drawables.xml and is linked in the status_bar_tracking.xml
Let me know if either works.

wow, because I just got a ton of errors, and I just had to download the 64bit version of java sdk, I forgot to do that when I got the new laptop last week. But this is what I just seen

[App] Updated 11.28.12 AOSP MMS/Inverted Mms.apk with WORKING MMS messages!!!!

Here is the first known working AOSP MMS with Emoji support, 160 character split, gesture support, full timestamps, etc.
All other MMS apk's seem to crash when sending/receiving MMS messages. This one has been tested working with Jellywiz (a JB TW based ROM). It should work with all ICS/JB TW ROM's, but I need your help to test others.
Instructions to install:
- Download file
- Make a backup of your TW mms.apk (this is usually named SecMMS.apk) by adding ".bak" without the quotes, at the end of the filename.
- Using your favorite file explorer with root capabilities, copy the Mms.apk into the /system/app folder.
- Change permissions (I didn't when I was testing, but you should anyway) as follows: rw-r--r--
- Reboot phone.
- WIN.
All credit for the file goes to beanstown106. This was an apk in his awesome Custom ROM builds. I simply had the good idea to extract it and see if I could get it working with any JB-based TW builds.
Update: Uber, the man with the theming hand, helped me get a themed version based on this file. It was still in testing because I noticed a few glitches when he went radio silent. So, I will release what he had until then for you guys. I tried themeing it further, but I'm nowhere near his level of talent. That being said, it's not perfect, but it's pretty good. Enjoy.
Without further ado, enjoy.
Tested working on:
Jellywiz RLS8
CleanROM 2.5
I used this on my CleanRom 2.5 install working great.

The pop up being the quick reply in the notification bar or a separate deal???? If youre referring to the former, that is a JB feature. Unfortunately, this is an ICS based mms, apk.

Works on Stock Rooted 4.0.4 TouchWiz
Has anyone found that adding a photo that you took vertically on the camera as an MMS only adds it as horizontally? The receiver confirmed receiving it horizontally as well. Using this on Stock Rooted TouchWiz VRALHE.

Happens with GoSMS as well, and if you plug your phone into your computer, the images you took vertically will display horizontally in the Windows photo viewer. I believe the pictures are all rotated the same way regardless of how you orient your phone for the picture, and then Samsung is using some kind of proprietary data attached to the image to tell apps what way to orient the photo. The problem is, only Samsung apps read this information.

You're right. I believe the main issue is the TouchWiz camera because I tested even CameraZoom app has the same issue but it most likely is tunnel through some TouchWiz framework to function so that's why. My guess is AOSP camera would work fine if only it was possible to get it working on a TouchWiz ROM however.
A few MMS apps work with emoji. Make sure you are rooted, push it to your system apps, and fix permissions. Reboot and done.

ON 11/5, I officially added in support for custom icons in the quick launch screen... And just so we are clear, the quick launch screen is the eight icon (including the close button) screen that pops up when you hold down the history button...
As the default, the icons are what they were previously, all seven of the shortcuts... However, you can add in your own 0-7 shortcuts now by doing the following:
1) goto: Settings --> TSM Parts --> Lock Screen Settings...
2) Temporarily (or permanently, if you like this lockscreen) change the lockscreen style to ***Unlock Rings***
3) Make sure that Custom Rings App Toggle is ON! If you turn it off, the icons will be defaulted to my original favorites
4) Scroll down to the Custom App selection, and have fun! You can choose up to seven custom icons
4a) Change the lockscreen style back to what you want it to be
The whole changing the lockscreen back and forth thing is only for now, until I decide to actually make a new settings option for it... I don't really see the need though, because everything works okay
I think that's it right now...

No log cause when I pulled battery it went to a NEW SOFTBRICK SCREEN. And nothing works no dl etc...
Well three or so days of gingerbread were fun. I don't know what u did with that, cause when I was modding 14 toggles all mine did was make stausbar dissapear.
Farwell continuum rip.
It was fun.
May be hope this weekend when I can get more into it.

Did the screen say something about "new upload" or something like that? Had red text at top of the screen, warning triangle, and the little android guy?

That's him. I pulled battery and tried dl mode to re flash via odin. No go for me
Sent from my SPH-M580BST using Tapatalk 2
I had that come up once on a reboot, but after a Batt pull mine booted fine. Wish I could tell you what I did, but think it was just dumb luck. That sucks man.

Uh... nothing that was in that package changed any files that would affect download mode I would guess it was probably the flashing itself... don't get all hopeless now, we can still get you up and working did you make sure that even though you couldn't see that you were in download mode, that it wasn't communicating with the PC?

Had to be the flash ill edit my post I didn't mean anything by it.
I hadn't tried yet to see if dl mode connects, eventhough black screen.
Won't be able to try today though.

No no no, it's okay... I just thought you were thinking it was my doing, and I was feeling bad I'm sorry your phone isn't working though... I know though that download mode is hard to actually kill, so even though you can't see it, it might still be there if not, a jig may be necessary... I bet imnuts has one up his sleeve

Got it back up. Yeah it was weird.
After bootloop( its was because of the softkey and tasker mod I had flashed over that ur mods didn't have anything to do with it) I was gonna flash back to stock and then was like no, gotta flash deodex back, that bootlooped(same reason as above, /user folder). then it gave me new soft brick screen. Then I went odin flashing, (dl mode was present black screen though) they all hung on modem (probably because I didn't hiddenmode obviuosly). Flashed ten dif times between odin and pst. Well all said and done, the hidden dl mode and my hour or so of the usb cable plugged in, the battery charged just enough to boot.
Back to the noob class I go, I will be watching the xda intro video for a better action plan lol
Well I'm almost back up, just need to debloat, deodex, and flash your mods, and send u screenies

Is this going to be released again soon?
did u impliment ticker rotation or is that stock?
---------- Post added at 11:13 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:53 AM ----------
also having trouble with apktool compiling your modded apks, what frameworks did u install?
stock or yours or new themer v6 with them built in?
how was your weekend with fam?
Yeah, I can re-release it now that I know everything is working okay--- thanks again ciscogee!
Ciscogee: I'm pretty sure this incorporates the ticker rotation! If not, then my re-released will for sure! Also, my re-released version will add something else that I felt was necessary The messaging icon for when you get a new text message has been replaced by the sender's contact picture... If they don't have one, then it defaults back the original icon haha... I thought that added a nice touch, that should have been there from the beginning, haha
and hmmm... First, what error are you getting in the log? And secondly, I would try installing the stock, deodexed, gingerbread frameworks (framework-res.apk, twframework-res.apk, systemUI.apk) for the continuum!
and the weekend was nice, thanks for asking We went to the field of screams, a haunted attraction, which was fun It's always great seeing your family members scream like babies, lol...

AT&T owner here.
TWRP installed flawlessly. CleanROM 1.0 installed flawlessly and booted up just fine.
OP was not kidding, Factory Reset took about 5 minutes. Just be patient.
I'm happy to report TWRP did not nuke out my pictures on Factory Reset, like my Factory Reset via LG settings menu did the other night (sadpanda).
I really, really, really wish AT&T Ready2Go or whatever the hell that is was replaced with the Stock setup that triggers a proper App Backup/Restore process, but no big deal.
FYI, if you want street names back in Google Maps, change your Text-to-Speech to Pico TTS from LG TTS. Unfortunately, Pico TTS is not natural sounding, and there doesn't appear to be a way to sideload Google Text-to-Speech yet. I attempted ganking Maps/VoiceSearch from /system and installing them manually to get the Google Services directly, but it didn't help.
Thanks Scrosler! Runnin' just fine.
Looks like I lost the ability to change my lock screen wallpaper with Clean ROM, anyone else experiencing this?
I tried a clean re-install and got the same result, so I'm pretty sure maybe something might've been debloated that it hinged on...

There is actually a file that you can freeze that would cause this issue. I dont recall the specific name of it but its something like lockscreen settings. I had to edit the file to change out the wallpaper. But I cant recall the name.

I have this problem. I can switch to different stock wallpapers on my home screen, but I'm locked to a blue wallpaper for my lock screen. I'm kinda sad because I like using the stock papers for my lock screen.

I have another server I can mirror on, AndroidFile Host, but its not as user friendly so I dont care to use it.
If they would give me shell acess to use wget I would do it. But alas...
Here we are with what we have...
No worries. Understood. I've downloaded enough files from goo to know it's "potential". It will eventually get the job done. Just happy for clean rom.

About
CyanFox is a free, community built distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat) which greatly extends the capabilities of your phone and to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
This ROM was originally developed for Samsung Galaxy S2. I have successfully ported this ROM to Samsung Infuse with the help of CM 11.0 for Infuse 4G by scott.hart.bti.
I have been using this CyanFox Ported ROM on my Infuse for a while now, it is still working fine without any problems.

CREDITS
CyanFox team for developing this ROM Ofc.
And the most special thanks goes to scott.hart.bti for bringing CM 11 to Infuse 4G. Without the CM 11 ROM, I could not have ported this ROM. And without his help, we could have never received the KitKat update for our Infuses. Let's say that you guys MAYBE liked this ROM and MAYBE decided donate to the developer, than donate to Scott and CyanFox
I am not a developer or anything, I just understand this ROM concept a little so don't thank me or anything, all the thanks goes to them.

Downloading this now, can't wait to try it out :fingers-crossed:
Edit:
Just flashed the rom, running smoothly so far. Google Play services started updating as soon as I completed setup, at first it gave me a message that Google Play Services was not able to run on my device, but it seemed to figure itself out. This same thing has happened with other KK roms so it's not a big deal.
I'll make sure to let you know if I come across any bugs.

Yes it was made on January, I wrote on instructions that I've been using this ROM for a while. I made the Zip on January and been updating and fixing stuff till now (did not want to change the ZIP date because some apps are still not updated to last update). This ROM seems smooth and stable now, that is the reason I posted this ROM .
Thank you all for trying this ROM. I will keep on working on updates for this ROM. CyanFox team said that they are going to release their V3, I will try to port it too when it is released
And @bokonon9 Thanks :victory: let me know if you come across any other bugs.

I don't know much about the Russian letters in the dialer, can you explain a little more about what you meant?
About the Percentage, It totally works fine with me. I used it with the percentage for some time, did not occur that problem. But, I will look into this and see what I come across with.
Till then can you try this:
Change back "Battery status style" to Icon Portrait or anything you want except "Icon with percentage" and then tick the "Show battery status perc.." tick box and see?
I appreciate to see another dev...
Is there a benefit to this ROM? I keep trying ones and going back to cm... I guess what I'm asking is what is different?
Thanks for a new option

I mean, I choose Russian as main language of the OS, and when I open the dialer I saw only english letters on number buttons, so, I can't apply quick search in phone book, because all contacts are written on my native language.

If your battery is going down this fast, look to see what is using so much power.
You should be able to reboot in to recovery, clear cache and dalvik cache then reboot - problem should be resolved.

The two culprits were cell standby and android os. My infuse doesn't have a SIM so I just put it on airplane mode with Wifi on. My phone was apparently awake because of Android OS for close to 15 hours. Talk about wakelocks.

Where it says "select runtime". Tap it and switch from dalvik to art. It will reboot and optimize all apps for art. That can take 5-10 minutes.
Still, I have not tried on this rom yet, so it may/may not work.
EDIT: Don't use art with the op listed gapps. They cannot support it. I will try some other gapps packages today that are known to be compatible with art.
