Hey everyone!!! There are many newbies like me out there who want to learn how to port/develop themes/apps/roms etc to our device . So i was wondering if any of you experienced guys could take out your precious time and give a short tutorial(or at least provide a link).A google search doesn't help much!! I'm tired of just using stuff and watching other people develop it!!!
here are some links

You have to be more specific on what you want to do. For rom porting, you will need to have coding skills. For everytjing else, the search box here in xda would suffice.

Lets start with themes!!!
Like said before, searching is one of the best way to learn
You could found threads like this one for themes, [GUIDE] Want to learn how to theme?

see this video. Its an app for iphone. But I think by doing changes in framework file we can achieve such animation in menu (just guessing). If apple os is capable of this then definitely our android must have more capabilities...!!

IMPORTANT UPDATE 5/23:
Hey thanks to all who have downloaded and checked this out. I guess there must be minimal issues since I've yet to hear of any since posting. This should be good for at least next few FXP updates since most of 7.2 is already in-place. Although I do plan an upgrade to a final status with this I may try and wait for the Official release which I suspect is right around the corner. Awesome work by the way and many Thanks to the FXP team for an already KILLER rom. I'm now turning attention to CM9 however in the interim if there are any issues or questions regarding this package don't hesitate to hit me up. Thanks Everyone, eb
Fellow X10-FXP-S Enthusiasts
I've been working on various theme mods in effort to achieve Xperia-S look and feel on latest FXP releases. I really had only planned to use it personaly but have since decided to share what I have so far and see if it helps anyone.
It still needs plenty of tweaks so if there's enough interest Ill be happy to continue working towards finished versions.
Thank me if you dig it and let me know if you have any positive feedback or require additional instruction, etc. Enjoy

Listen-Anybody wiling to contribute to this effort is most certainly welcome to have at it. There are many things that I've encountered(primarily cosmetic, rom is very stable) that are quite simply beyond my current capability.
BOTTOM LINE:
I love the new Sony themes, apps,etc-I love what FXP stands for and is all about-I love the performance and flexibility of Cyanogen, enough said.
Simply put this is merely my feeble attempt to 'have my cake and eat it too".

Some of this is actually just cosolidated from other works and as soon as I can sort through my crude organizational methods I'm dedicated to provided credit where credit is due.

Yes my man, I do know very well of you're work but you are right in the later. This is not a ROM, just an extended theme if you will for cm7.
I do keep up with this forum and firmly believe it is populated by some of the coolest and genius minds in the Android community. Although I'm about to upgrade to an ION I will be keeping my X10 on full blast for that very purpose.
As mentioned in my initial post this was aimed to fill a personal need to bring "S" type look and feel to a Cyanogen base which is very similar to what you've been doing. I guess you could say maybe this could be concidered the "Theme" equivalent to your efforts. I could be wrong but through my search I have yet to find the "S" equivelant of such or I simply would've used it. That's not to say someone isn't working on the same damn thing at this very moment. But hey, from what I've seen in other forums & devices I say the more the marrier. After all that's kinda what AOSP's all about right?
Lets just hope & pray it stays that way.

you got me wrong reread what i wrote , i just thinked that you dont know about my rom , and also say that its good for peapole who want to stay on CM7 and have only the theme without the app , i not blame you and since i am on xda i nevr do that and even peapoles who taking my rom to mod and release i give my permissions so you just get me wrong , also one think can u upload it to mediafire ? i loved the clock font and if you agree will use on my next release
cheers
Achotjan
Much Love, much Love.
Offcoarse and absolutely.
I'll look into mediafire, long as they don't want my blood type and first born cause I'm not down w that.
In the meantime if u can manage to get the "MAIN THEME" zip it contains everything already formatted. I think the digitalclock widget is what you want. As I'm sure you well know it took me forever to get the right elements together to get even close to that.
If I'm not mistaken its the SomaThin from Champ's port but not completely sure since its now Clocktopia.
If you mean the lockscreen clock I believe that's an ICS hybrid from ThJap's ROM...maybe.
See what I mean about the list of credits.LOL

First off, I want to say that I read the threads extensively, including the cm9 and nunhuggers uniporn threads and I know that neither rom, nor any other cm9 based rom has working Bluetooth.
I realized from what I've read so far that this is a major task and fixing it is going to be a pain, so please if you have an issue with this topic be nice or don't read it. Don't bash me for asking a question. I use Bluetooth and love the ics Roms that have been released so I gave up bluetooth use to use nunhuggers aokp rom which is amazing.
Allentown I want to know is IF anyone is actively working on a resolution for this issue.
Thanks in advance for any useful information you can provide and as always, thank you to all you developers out there for created such amazing roms for us infuse users.

As far as i know bluetooth is a kernel side problem...so.it would take a kernel dev to fix...and since entropy and jt are the only two.who have worked on ics kernel...id say they are the only two who may be working on bluetooth...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA
I've never worked on a Linux or Android Kernel - it's been almost a decade since I touched C/C++. I've often wondered the chances of a seasoned developer (C# here) who wasn't been around a lot of C/C++ development solving the bluetooth issue. In the end, learning some of these things comes down to brute force trial and error. However, it would be nice to know from an experienced kernel dev what we'd be up against - or where to start hammering.
Is this something one could do in the evening and get back to a usable phone by the next morning? I'd hate to have to pull out the candy-bar Nokia...but I bet it still works (and with awesome battery+voice quality)!
Also Hdmi would be nice

Great news to hear Ryan!! Quick question, who will be handling Bluetooth for the Sony Xperia Sola that would allow kernel integration for the Infuse?
Edit: As in the company handling it lol

Just trying to put some of the different information together. I'd seen bits and pieces but wasn't aware of it all...
A previous thread in this forum showed that the Infuse uses the CG2900 by ST Ericsson.
In jt1134's ICS Rom thread, pdtp stated that the Sony Xperia Sola uses the NOVATHORTM U8500 which contains the CG2900. This phone is expected to be released with 2.3 Gingerbread but updated to 4.0 ICS.
Other device(s) have used the CG2900, with the attempt at integration discussed by LinuxBozo.
Alright, I've taken my first steps into a larger world. I've installed Linux to my laptop and I'm gonna see if I can start the long and seemingly complicated road to kernel development.
My ultimate goal is to attempt to create a kernel with HDMI out support, working Bluetooth, full HD video playback, and a few more needs for the Infuse that need fulfilling, including better battery life and greater wifi range quality.
I know it wont be easy at all considering the two ICS kernels we have are made by tried and true pros, but even they started somewhere, and made some mistakes. No greater teacher for software development than trial and error. Wish me luck folks.
Sent from my SGH-I997 aka subject 0, CM9 using xda premium
Best of luck to you. If you go out and search Google for CG2900 Snowball you'll see that even the original developers of the chip were seeking help determining how they should implement their driver. There's open issues with it under Linux as well. I'm amazed it made it into a phone in this kindof shape.
Perhaps that's why the hope is on the Sony phone - they've been fairly transparent as of late with source code drops on their Android phones. Maybe they'll take the time and clean up the driver for the phone?
Thanks, hopefully there is a way to integrate it. I've got a ton of reading to do, let me ask this, is a device's kernel limited to programming native to that device only? I.e., porting that bluetooth tree over to the Infuse? Or that of the Galaxy S II?

Thanks Mushroom. I want to just say that I'm not doing this because I'm unhappy with our current ICS Kernels, but because I want to give our devices more variety with development.
We're at the mercy of the kernel no matter how impressive the Rom, just imagine having full capabilities and having our community push out ICS original Roms and other devices seeking to port from us!!

Wish you luck. Probably best if you start of his, then build around it modding the kernel, as i think building it yourself is very hard.
Its very intimidating. May start with a Gingerbread base and see what I can migrate over to ICS

Yeah, I can be a little sarcastic. But he DID say people like me used to be super active then disappear to play video games and aren't helpful anymore. C'mon man, don't be a troll. There are very few owners/users of your particular tab. Which is why there is little development for it. Have you seen Shakatus contributions to the community of P51xx.Take a look for yourself, and then try spouting off. If he, or any other, of the great devs around here actually had one of your models, maybe they may be able to figure something out. But, he doesn't. So he wont. Unless of course you want to send him yours to try, but I can guess the answer to that. Bashing people around here for problems that you are having (or unwilling to do anything about, except lean on others ie: learn something for yourself) is unacceptable and will be reported. No trolls allowed......next!
I wasn't trying to be crass....I will be happy to donate or whatever in order to advance the work on this model....but there's no current anything for this device.....I've ran down every link and thread trying to find anything useful to break VZW's hold on this device, so it's not a matter of not researching or being lazy....my apologies.
