FAQ's for Cyanogen MOD ROMs | Samsung Galaxy R / Z i9103
Q. What is Cyanogen MOD ?
Cyanogen MOD is a customized, aftermarket firmware distribution for select Android device based on the Android Open Source Project(AOSP), CyanogenMod is designed to increase performance and reliability over Android-based ROMs released by vendors and carriers such as Google, TMobile, HTC, etc. CyanogenMod also offers a variety of features & enhancements that are not currently found in these versions of Android.
Features supported by CyanogenMod include native theming support, Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC) support, a large Access Point Name list, an OpenVPN client, an enhanced reboot menu, support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB tethering, CPU overclocking and performance enhancements, soft buttons and other "tablet tweaks", toggles in the notification pull-down (such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS), app permissions management, as well as other interface enhancements. According to the developers CyanogenMod does not contain pre-installed spyware or bloatware.
Q. What are the 'Features' of Cyanogen MOD ?
You can check out the complete list of features for Cynogen MOD here: Cyanogen MOD Features by The-Droister Q. What are the 'Default apps' included in the Cyanogen MOD ROM & Can I remove / uninstall / delete them ?
Here's a complete list of apps included in Cyanogen MOD ROM along with the info if it's safe to delete them: Cyanogen MOD Barebones
Q. I don't know the use of some of the 'Settings' in Cyanogen MOD ROMs. Where can I find info about it ?
You can get all the information about the Settings in Cyanogen MOD here: Cyanogen MOD Settings
Q. What is Root ?
- Defined by Lininfo.org: Root is the user name or account that by default has access to all commands and files on a Linux or other Unix-like operating system. (Added: It's just like having all the privileges that an Administrator account has in Windows OS environment.) Q. Why should I root my device?
There can be many reasons whether you would like to root your device or not. Here are some Pros & Cons:
- Pros:
Have extended control over the OS
Customize the handset as per your taste
Make use of Enhanced features & functions available only for rooted handsets
Performance & Stability Improvement
Removing Manufacturer / Carrier Bloatware
Get faster updates than the Manufacturer / Carrier.
- Cons:
Limited or voided warranty after rooting
~ There are ways to claim warranty by resetting the Custom firmware counter & flashing back the stock ROM of your country / region, then you can claim your warranty for the handset. However if you screw up somewhere & do not follow the steps correctly then you'll get bricked so therefore read twice carefully before you do anything.
Security Issues
~ Custom ROMs could contain malicious code - though to date, no such incidents are known of.
Stability Issues
~ Custom ROMs tend to be experimental and could cause stability issues, however CyanogenMod has proven time and time again to be more stable than most 'official' ROMs.
 Q. What are Cyanogen MOD Nightly builds ?
CM Nightly builds normally aren't used as a daily driver because it has bugs which need to be fixed to get a fully functional build. But we need you to test these builds & give feedback to the developer to help remove the bugs. Q. Where can I find the latest changelogs ?
- You can find the overall Cyanogen MOD changelog => HERE
- You can find Galaxy R i9103 device specific changelog =>Cyanogen MOD Nightly builds | Galaxy R i9103 Q. It's taking forever to boot! What should I do ?
The first boot will take longer than normal because dexopt needs to run. If you are nervous, connect USB and run adb logcat to watch the progress. Q. My device entered into a boot-loop after I flashed a Nightly build. What to do now ?
- Hold Volume Up, Volume Down, & the Power button, continue to hold all three until the screen flashes, then release all buttons.
- You are in the ClockWorkMOD (custom recovery mode), now restore your previously saved backup with the help of CWM. Q. I found a bug in the CM ROM, where do I report ? / My device rebooted by itself !
Update to the latest Nightly builds & check if the bug / rebooting problem has been resolved, if not then report the bugs in the CM development thread started by Epsylon3 => HERE. He may ask you to provide logcat so be prepared with one.
Q. I just flashed a CM ROM but there are no Google apps !?!
Google Apps contain the proprietary Google applications that come pre-installed with most android devices. Due to licensing restrictions, these apps cannot come pre-installed with CyanogenMod and must be installed separately. CyanogenMod does not require Google Apps to function properly, however, to take full advantage of the Android system, Google Apps are recommended. You can download them from HERE. & flash them with CWM. Q. CyanogenMod is missing the Samsung's video player/music player/contacts/phone/launcher application from Samsung ROM's, how can these be installed?
Many (if not all) of those applications have specific hooks into Samsung's framework which do not exist on this ROM, making the applications incompatible with CyanogenMod. There are plenty of market alternatives available. Q. When will we get Voodoo sound / 'XYZ' MOD / 'XYZ 3rd party feature on Cyanogen MOD ROM ?
First we need to have a stable build with basically everything already in the AOSP working normally without any bugs, after that we can try to include all the other features as long as it doesn't break some other function. Q. I read that CM ROMs supports themes so how can I change themes ?
CyanogenMod ships with the T-Mobile Theme Engine integrated, search the Play Store for "theme engine" or browse the CM forums for themes. Install the application and run the "Theme Chooser" application and select the preferred theme.
- Here's the Cyanogen MOD Development Thread for Galaxy R i9103. You can test the latest Nightly builds & report bugs (developer may ask for logcat so be prepared) => Cyanogen MOD Nightly builds | Galaxy R i9103

This is exceptionally good work bro. I like the way you are always precise and to the point in your threads. Keep up the good work.:good:
However, I couldn't understand this.

Could you elaborate a bit on the following fronts:
1. What is an AOSP build?
2. Are there separate CynagogenMods......AOSP CM and something else? As far as I understand AOSP CM must be a bare-bones CM having only the features that are the integral part of every CM build. Am I right?
3. If so what are those basic, fundamental features that must be present in every stable CM build? Should we expect all those for our Galaxy R?
Sorry, I'm new to all this. Please excuse my noobish questions. Just trying to learn.
EDIT: Found the Answers to my questions after digging around a bit. Only thing that now remains unanswered is "Will Galaxy R get all the basic features in full working condition?" :fingers-crossed:

superdragonpt, this is the rom that you will be remembered for. Excellent job. This is not a port, its a creation! You just made a kernel out of scratch just so you can bring lollipop to our devices so I thank you for that. While we both know that the rom is far from perfect, i hope you will continue to bring us updates and bug fixes. Wish you all the best superdragonpt!
@snapdragonpt i am again facing camera bug....front camera blackish at edges.....quality is not upto mark.....though i didnt face that dual sim problem ...i can easily use 3g on slot 1.....viasuals are good.....performance is good.....but no contact display option for sim....and everytime sim blocked,....minor bugs u can fix....thas all i found ..hope it will help you for a stable version
Hi
Yes, you guys should understand that everything concerning CyanogenMod + Mediatek it's all WIP (Work in Progress)
CM doesn't support Mediatek SoC's (Android ONE, it's an all different story ...)
Plus, everything developed for this device is all WIP, since we never ever got any source .
- The KitKat Rom is unofficial, and made from scratch ...
- The CyanogenMod 11 & 12.1 also.
There's minor issues (since my unofficial KK) that are related with my kernel (cameras needing manual compensation, etc )
Regarding cameras: that's the best i was abled to do without any kind of sourcecode, i had to write our own drivers...
If you manually adjust the exposure / whites, it takes good pictures, but don't expect it to be like in the (very old) JellyBean 4.2.2 (stock) Rom.

We understand superdragonpt and we are willing to wait, i just hope you will not desert this project until atleast most of the bugs are fixed. I can list you all the bugs that i have found if it will make your job easier.
BUGS:
1. Yes, the blueish tint. While it is adjustable on KK and CM11, CM12.1 tells it different, we dont have the white balance option on our default camera app. Im certain using third party or post editing the image will fix it though.
2. No move apps to SD. This is common on almost ALL lollipop roms so no surprises there, we just link our apps with Link2SD.
3. We have some dangerous bug concerning brightness. Turn Adaptive Display on (auto brightness) and then manually turn down the brighness and u get a pitch black screen. Dangerous if you dont know the position of the slider.
Alternatively if u turn Adaptive Display off and turn Battery Saver on, you will get a pitch black screen if you turn the brightness to its minimum.
4. LED notifications, yes they light up but they stay lit. If u get a low battery youre supposed to get a blinking red, but with this bug u get a continuous red light. Same with texts but with an endless green. Im sure third party apps can do something regarding this.
5. Heads up notifications does not work with every app. Turning it off did not fix it either. The only heads up notif i get is from facebook and calls, but it wont give u heads up for text messages or games.
6. There is a youtube bug. This one im not sure if its an isolated problem. If you are watching videos sometimes it will stop and refuse to play unless you click on a new video and click back to the one you were watching.
Other than that, this rom is great! It is not as stable as your KK 4.4.2 which is my personal favorite I must say. But bringing lollipop to the table is good enough already so kudos to you. Thank you superdragonpt.

Hi
~
Thanks for the bug list, it really helps, since im wasting most of my time compiling and check issues.
1: The new CyanogenMod 12.1 camera lacks some settings, so, yes, you can't adjust camera settings just like in KK.
--> Workaround, use another camera app from the Play Store
--> Same goes for recording videos ( there's an Play store link on first page for a camera app, that works great for recording videos ...
2: There's nothing i can do regarding this
3: Adaptive Display : Yes it needs some re-calibration
4: Led: It works but doesn't blink (minor bug )
5: Seems to be an problem with CM release
6: Should be fixed on next release
Thanks for the feedback
cheers

so there is no way to fix camera you said only on some devices some are working ? you tried to replace modules from jb ? should i try ? but i cant coz i have this device as my daily driver........ i know whatever u r doing is just great n i appreciate you...in fact we all do !
As i know micromax a120 have same specs even unite 2 have same chipset, can you try using unite 2 lollipop module ? i think someone should try if you have this device as a spare device !
Sent from my Micromax A200 using XDA Free mobile app

It wont work because micromax a120 has a different kernel despite having identical specs. Flashing it would result in a brick.

Yes moving apps to sd doesnt work because our "external sd" is just emulated from internal sd. Which means our external and internal is just one. I dont know, i think thats just how lollipop works. Link2sd does work fine for me. Im using the free one from play store because if you try to use a cracked link2sd pro ull have a "Package invalid" error.

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.0 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

The link to the telegram chat from this post ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-...4i-ferrari-t3355702/post68651421#post68651421 ) has expired. Could someone please share the new one. I'd like to join this group to be one of the beta testers I have computer with adb on it, usb cable and pretty fast internet
Thanks in advance
PS. And of course I have Mi4i in my pocket
Wiped dalvik and cache,
Flashed this rom
Flashed gapps
Rebooted
Awesome work devs , didnt lost anything( i hadnt even taken backup before flashing and yes this is my daily driver ) ...looked like an update only.
When i think abt it , our device is running the latest version of android. I never thought a day like this might happen...
Kudos to all the devs... ?
I'd like to quote Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen here: "Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?"
Hi everybody,
at first, I'm looking to this forum every day. Thank you for your hard work to all!
Since I'm new to flashing with Xiaomi Mi4i, can someone please help me with the instructions?
"Flash firmware 6.6.10.1" - where do I get the firmware?
"Download the latest build" - is this the first link provided under "Download" in the first post?
Are the sensors working with both things above or do I have to use a custom kernel or something?
Also, will my data stay available if I just do these steps or is everything lost? (I currently run the Global Dev version from Xiaomi officially)
Thanks!

I have opened this thread for the discussion of and sharing of specific information regarding the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70F/L running on Android 6.0 MM.
This is to reduce the need to post in the "main" thread for this device which is HERE
The thread is open to ALL so please do not direct all question or comments towards me but ask and comment generally.
The thread should be restricted to Customisation and Porting of the Stock ROM.
Hints Tips and Tweaks.
The thread should Not include anything related to xposed PLEASE as this has a dedicated forum thread.
WARNING SPFlashTool and the use of will NOT be discussed in this thread. You are expected to know the very basics already like using SPflashTool, ADB, Fastboot and TWRP.
Simple Google search's will reveal all the info you need about the aforementioned.
The #2 post below this one will contain the leaked MM link TWRP and official Kernel source code etc etc
This OP will be updated as time goes by so I am open to suggestions

Custom Stock ROM v1
Due to confusion and minor bugs that required some user input I have removed the TWRP version and replaced it with this SPFlashTool version.
Before Flashing:
This ROM will wipe your internal sd_card including Pictures, Music, etc, etc on it. BACKUP First You have been warned!!!
This ROM is NOT a full Android upgrade so please make sure you are already on Android 6.0 (MM)
Whats Different bigrammy??
boot.logo Now Black instead of the White burning out your eyeballs one.
bootanimation. Now Black Pixel animation.
Default wallpapers Desktop and lockscreen Now Pixel Blue (no more boats)
Pixel Launcher
Assistant enabled
Sony id enabled (Allows you to install some Sony app's from the play store like keyboard)
Ported Sony Music Album and Video directly from my Sony C4 mt6752 device.
These are Just to name a few but has lots of other minor mods I have forgotten about.
Installing and things to Note:
MM TWRP is included in the ROM.
Please flash the entire ROM or I/we will not know whats causing the problems should there be any.
After the flash is complete boot to recovery ONLY and flash Magisk Latest Stable release HERE
First time boot takes 10 minutes so do not panic. As soon you see the boot animation go make a cup of coffee and wait.
It will boot guaranteed if you see the bootanimation. :fingers-crossed:
The reason it seems to take so long is that the boot animation continues until fully booted so you do not see the usual dialog box "updating app 1 of xxx" etc
Ensure you update Google Play Services via the playstore (Doing this First ensures smooth and uninterrupted updates of the other playstore apps)
Update all other app's listed in playstore/my apps
Note app's like trackid will only display in portrait as our device res is not officially supported.
Credit to HootanParsa for the Awesome file explorer his thread is HERE Please leave your thanks there too.
Ensure to check all app permission and choose the Pixel launcher as default.
See post #3 for instruction on hiding the SIM icon in the notifications bar.
Lastly But Most important please LEAVE SOME FEEDBACK
I know it will not be to everyone's tastes so feel free to mod add remove install what you like.

@bigrammy I'm sure it's on your to-do list, but how about, in the first post or placeholder posts, links to
- TWRP
- Original MM ROM
- Individual mods and/or guides to customisations/tweaks
Otherwise i guess they run the risk of getting swallowed up in the thread...Not that that has ever happened
Cheers

Hi chris5s,
Yes good point & I have been mulling this over since I started this dedicated MM 6.0 thread.
I really don't want to be dragged into the world of noobs and SPFlashtool, driver installation, flashing, etc as they will swear blacks white and whites black regardless of how well it's all explained. So I will put up the links along with a strong warning that I/we will not expand on SPflashTool drivers etc etc for installation of the Original MM ROM and TWRP recovery.
All the Best.
Edit: All Done anything I missed let me know.
@bigrammy Excellent work on the thread.
Since I don't have this tablet anymore, my information are probably not updated. This is an amazing device, and I enjoyed every bit of it. It's still running strong with my younger brother.
I shall put a link to this thread in mine so that people can come here for most current information.
Great job on the new thread, looks great and should streamline the process of the noobs and experienced alike find what they need and point them in the right direction. Great tutorial. The reason Android will keep growing is because of people like ones that have been involved with the dev work on this tablet, and all the projects here on XDA..
I was just comparing my A10-70F running 6.0.1 with my mother's which is on stock 5.0.1 and found that my screen was distinctly dull and grey in comparison. After removing f.lux and checking all the display and battery settings were the same I was stumped.
That was until I discovered that the brightness slider setting does absolutely nothing on mine!
Does it work for everyone else?
@mr-br working fine here :good:
@mr-br People with non-working brightness sliders on this tablet usually have enabled auto-brightness somehow, which does not work, as the tablet doesn't have an ambient light sensor. If you disable auto-brightness (for which you might need an app, as there are no controls for it in the standard settings app), then the brightness slider should work again.
Yes tx I found this seems to be a generic issue with this tablet. Found the app via a thread on the lenovo forum.
"I just installed the App "Best Display Brightness Level" from "Top10Labs" out of the GPlay-Store, then start it and uncheck the "Auto Brightness" tick Smiley Happy After that, i can use the built in brightness slider, even after uninstall the app Smiley Happy"
My screen still has rather a blue cast though ...
Has anyone installed this ROM coming from (rooted) stock 5.0.1 yet?

To which ROM do you refer??
If you mean the Stock then pretty much everyone I guess.
If you mean my custom stock then nobody has even bothered to report anything back at all.
I am pretty sure it would be just fine but until a few report back to it's OK I cant offer any Guarantees.
If your use to SPFlashTool then restoring the tablet would not be an issue anyway.
Yes, I do mean the stock Lenovo 5.0.1. Another question would be on your custom ROM 6.0, are there any issues for Tab2 A10-70F? As I have observed, you and others in Europe have the L version, which is not available to us in the US. Also, thank you for your hard work and guidance for the device, it is appreciated.

Most of us and me included are on the "F" version I think..
It is just that the L firmware also works on our F versions.
Maybe I should make it clear that my ROM is the WiFi version only as I stripped some of the RIL parts out of the ROM
Good news! I look forward to flashing your ROM and getting 6.0 on my tablet. Thank you for your patience in addressing my concerns and questions.

FAQ
[Q] My phone is stuck in bootloop/infinite boot, what should I do?
[A] It is normal for first instalation to take aprox 10-20 minutes on first boot, let it sit for a little bit
[Q] Even after 20 minutes, my phone is still in a bootloop/infinite boot, what can I do?
[A] It is possible that your previoius Android setup is conflicting with this new setup. Please, do the following:
1. FORMAT DATA (not WIPE, FORMAT!)
2. Try the instalation of the ROM again
[Q] I've found a bug, what should I do
[A] Please read the "Bugs" section of the thread to see if your bug has been reported, if it hasn't, please let me know exactly what the problem is so I can take a look
[Q] My phone isn't rooted
[A] This ROM has Magisk pre-packaged. If you do not see Magisk Manager, just download the latest version of it in xda
[Q] Something bothers me and I want it fixed/changed
[A] Please, kindly make a request and if it's within my grasp, I'll try to fix it. Just, don't be rude and demand something. Either that or return to stock, your choice

How to report a bug/Ask for a change
Over the small amount of time I've been doing my edits and shared them with the community, I've noticed something that seems to irritate me. I can't speak for all the developers on this forum, but I do edits/ROMs/PORTs/etc... to what I like. I don't work for anybody else but me. I share my work because it may have something of value to other people and/or some people may share the same taste as me on regards to what they want on a ROM.
That being said, that doesn't mean I will completely ignore what the community has to say.
First and foremost, it must be said, I am merely a beginner. I do not claim to be a professional developer that knows how to add everything, I am nowhere close and I learn as I go.
There are ways to ask for something and/or report a bug when it comes to ROMs, and this post is my attempt to try to explain how to (and how not to) report a bug in order to help me out as much as possible to try to fix something
You can also ask for something to be added, but there are also ways to ask for something
So, here we go
Keep in mind:
I do not add stuff that can easily be downloaded from the Playstore
I, myself, don't do kernel edits
I COULD remove stuff if NOBODY uses it
---REPORTING BUGS---
How NOT to report a bug:
"SystemUI (or any app)is crashing, please help!"
"Instagram doesn't allow me to edit my post, what could be wrong?"
"My bank account app is not letting me do such thing"
These posts are sort of pointless as they only state something but I have no context on what could be causing it. Also, I can't really control (for the most part) third-party apps, so if you're going to ask about them this way, don't even bother
A slightly better way to report a bug:
"I clean installed the ROM and was working fine, after I installed Facebook and logged in, I immediately uploaded a photo and SystemUI started to crash. Can you look in to it?"
"I tried to install Black Neon theme (a link to it would work as well) and it was working fine until I tried to activate AOD (or anything else for some reason) and SystemUI (or any other app) is crashing, could you look in to it?"
"My bank account app doesn't let me take a screenshot of my accounts. I get a toast notification saying "Can't take screenshot due to security policy"
As you can see, this provides a bit more context and explanation on your current situation. This gives me a little more detail on trying to replicate the problem and hopefully could fix it by replicating it. Well, except for point #3 which is out of my hands for the most part (I think). If you include what kernel you're using would make everything better! Also any significant change that would require root (like xposed and or anything that modifies /system also needs to be informed for better results)
The BEST way to report a bug:
LOGCAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please learn the ins and outs of a logcat, this really helps a lot on finding what the problem is. Also, please give a brief explanation as the above examples when providing a log cat
---ASKING FOR STUFF TO BE ADDED---
How NOT to ask for stuff:
On your next update, add iris scanner
You should add (app) on your next update
Hey, please add (app or feature) on your next update
No, I do not work for you. Even if you say please like the third example, that doesn't mean you're being polite. It still sounds like an order lol so you should probably rephrase your request.
How to ask for stuff to be added to my work:
Would you be so kind to add (feature) to your ROM, if possible?
Would it be possible to add this app to your ROM?
Please, can you add (feature) to your ROM, if it isn't much to ask?
See how politeness makes everything better? You're not demanding it, you're just politely asking to see if maybe it is within my grasp to add something. And if all request would be like this, I can assure you I'd try my best to add said feature
I hope this is useful to you or I at least hope that some people read it.
If not, I can just tell you to return to stock ROM, probably better than any ROM I put out anyway
Just so you know guys, I am constantly trying to fix bugs on this. My porting skills are not very good when it comes to odexed software lol
So I hope to make this port better over time.
H-ROM updated to V2 which adds stability and a few features I had previously removed.
Also it fixed face unlock oh and now, secure folder works. You just need to flash this: Secure Folder patch
Please give thanks to the post for making this zip to fix Secure Folder in this ROM
Enjoy!
Fixed Smart View.

I am looking forward to install this rom on my device but there are some things holding me back, specifically, how much unstable is the wifi?does it usually disconnect or something like that?or it does that not so usually? The second thing that's holding me back is that,my laptop has a corrupted hard drive, and because I am on vacation I cannot replace it at this time, but I can only run lubuntu (light ubuntu) on my laptop from a USB. So,if I actually want to flash this rom,as you may know Odin doesn't work on linux,is there any other way I could root my device and flash twrp? Thanks for reading

Well, honestly I've never had problems with WiFi. I only had to include it in the thread because it was reported on the original H ROM.
I can tell you with confidence that my WiFi has worked perfect.
When using any type of linux, you can use Heimdall instead of Odin
Thank you dude!! im testing the rom now:
Bugs:

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11 (R), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

Amazing... Android 11 for a 2015 device that launched with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. You gotta love XDA and the committed developers like @althafvly who keep development alive for the Osprey/Merlin. Thanks OP for your continued hard work.

@althafvly thanks again for this Android 11 goodness for the Osprey & Merlin. What are your recommendations, if any, as to a suitable GApps package for this ROM?
I haven't used this phone since LineageOS 7.1 because I didn't want to run it with very old security updates, so thanks for building this. I always use my previous phone as a backup,. I did a fresh install and it went flawlessly and it runs great with all my apps. I really like that I could restore the apps from my newer Moto G6 to this phone with my Google Drive backup. For the previous poster, I used the Gapps mentioned by the author.

Can I just update to this build from your previous one without losing my apps, settings and/or gapps? It's been a long time since I messed with ROMs.
Thanks

I would like it to become official and to be able to opt for that rom, since the battery consumption is very high
I recently saw that LineageOS 18.1 is out for nearly 60 devices, can't wait for the release of the official build in LineageOS website for Osprey. Is there any known release date ?

If you find battery consumption on the latest unofficial build is high, chances are, it will still be high if this build becomes official at the moment. AFAIK, there are some things that need to be checked in order for a build to be certified as "Official".

Hey, since the device is really old & we don't see even that the LOS17.1 builds aren't rock solid, I wouldn't hope for 18.1 builds any time before 3-4 months. Also, I've seen people reporting the official 18.1 build are also having some issues for some device... And, as I mentioned above, there are some check boxes that need to be checked in order to gain the "Official" build tag. Hope you'll understand.
New build is up (check OP for download link)
Thanks. Great work.
Installed over previous build with 20201108 OpenGapps 11 without factory reset and booted on the first try in no time. Didn't like my Mirco SD though but nothing that couldn't be fixed with a backup, reformat and restore. Is there a newer build of OpenGapps 11 available?
Also, can't seem to add any widgets to the home screen.
New Build is Up (Gapps Included)
Most things seem to work but I can't seem to get the option to add widgets to the home screen with the long press anymore.
Any news about official lineage 18.1?
I'm using the official LineageOS 17.1 as a daily driver, so shall i upgrade to 18.1 or it still has bugs ?
Is there a specific version of recovery needed to install this, or would latest LOS 17.1 recovery work?
Also, is there a site with all old LOS 17.1 recoveries? LOS site only has links to the latest 4.
Just tested the ROM.
Yes, regarding the booting, first boot after installation took 7.5 minutes... Although subsequent boots take around one minute.
But I stumbled with serious sound problems, which I'd like to ask about here. But first, background:
XT1543 variant.
Began with ancient CyamogenMod 12 (Android 5.1.1), so I had to first find a 6.0.1 stock ROM.
Found it, entered Lineage Recovery -latest version-, formatted all /system, /data and /cache, installed stock ROM, booted it at least once.
Back to recovery, formatted again /system, /data and /cache, and tried installing first LOS 17.1, which is EOL, but latest LOS one which was official. Then installed Gaps pico.
Booted, all good apparently... except no sound.
Digging a bit more, I realized it's the speaker, or loudspeaker, the one not working at all.
Callings do work normally, sound and mic work, but all other multimedia sound don't: Youtube, ringtones, sound files...
However, they do work only when plugging 3.5 mm jack headphones/headsets. Sound is heard through them indeed. But only with them. Unplugging... no sound again.
So then I tried this 18.1 ROM. No dice: exact same problem.
@althafvly :
Can you, or someone else, help with this big issue?
Thanks.

Did it work correctly on CyanogenMod or the stock ROM? Moto G3 has some mechanical issues that may cause things like speaker (though this does not affect all sounds) or camera to not work, perhaps in your case it is not a software problem?
