CM9 Camera issues? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I'm on the 7/13/12 nightly and the camera STILL has issues? It looks VERY blurry until you actually hit the shot button where it focuses and such. Is anyone else having this issue? I need to use Camera ZOOM FX to get a decent camera that you can actually see with before you take a shot.

Video Camera Really Dark

When the camera app is open everything looks fine but if I push the record button for video the view screen gets really dark and the video comes out dark. This is happening in all lighting situations. I tried different camera settings but it doesn't fix it. Anyone else experiencing this?
I should add that I'm on stock 2.3.3 build GRI54, rooted.
I have the same problem. Mine is GRI54 also. When using tango with someone who has an iPhone, their video looks great and mine is very dark. Video in the daylight looks nice though.

Front Camera Takes Pictures in HDR Mode

I'm using the default camera app on Beanstalk and I've also installed the 4.4 camera app but I experienced the same issue.
I don't even have the option to use HDR on the main camera and I've looked through the settings, but can't find anything relating to it.
By HDR mode I mean the front camera takes several pictures with different exposures and merges them together, it's annoying because it takes about 2 seconds and you must hold camera perfectly still to get it not to be blurry.
If I use the front camera while using Snapchat I do not have any issues. Any idea what could be causing this? How else should troubleshoot?

Camera autofocus issues

Hi,
Not sure if it's hardware or software issue. I tested latest CM11 nightly and CM12 nightly - both the same. While recording with any 3rd party app, I noticed lost focus and zoom every 1-2 seconds.
It's really annoying. You can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9dBt11t-LA
There is exactly the same effect while recording with CameraNext with autofocus set to continous. Do you have the same effect? If I set autofocus to auto in CameraNext, there is no autofocus at all
as i can see, its trying to focus on the closest point, try an other focus mode(infinity should work i think).
when you touch the screen to focus somewhere else is it working?

Yes, but it's trying it even if there is no any closer point. Seems one of latest CM12 updates solved this effect. However, any other than continous in CameraNext causes autofocus to be not working at all, I think it should not be
did you try to install an other rom? with the 44s i dont have that kind of problem, but i had an other one with the focus, but totally different than yours(mine doesnt focus on very close objects all the times )
I tried cm11 nightly, now I'm on CM12. I like cm12 so far and I don't really want to switch back to 4.4
Ok nothing is fixed, I wonder why nobody else experienced the same... hardware problem??

Anyway to lock the pop up camera? - Snapchat

When using snapchat the pop up camera plays wack-a-mole while navigating menus and such... (opening and closing constantly)
Does anyone know if it's possible in general to lock the camera with another app or a mod? I don't want to stress the lifespan of the popup camera.
It would also be a super useful security feature as I've found the pop-up camera coming up when on Instagram and not even in the camera...

Go as if your going to take a picture and switch to the rear camera. Once you do this it will always think you're using the rear cam and stop the front camera from popping up when I'm camera mode.
Yes, just default to the rear camera...

Did not know that this was a thing... Amazing thank you!
Exactly... Came here to write that but realised I was exactly 3 months late... lol

Question Strange post processing bug when zooming on stock camera

Has anyone else also noticed photos come out with weird, massively boosted brightness and everything when taken with 2x zoom or higher on stock camera? Strange thing is even at 1.9x zoom everything is fine but 2x and beyond the photo is basically ruined because of this. Very annoying.
HDR and other enhancements are turned off, yet this occurs.
Doesn't happen on GCam. Any idea/solutions? Thanks
Tried here. No issue. And 2x zoom photo from stock cam was better than GCam 8.3 for me.
Didi you activate HDR and IA options in stock cam?
Yes they're all deactivated. No problem upto 1.9x zoom, but as soon as 2x zoom is engaged, there's a sudden although small change on viewfinder white balance. And final photos look extremely bright and noisy compared to 1.9x and below, as if some weird filter is put on. I've downgraded the camera but still happens.
Btw, bootloader is unlocked, not sure if that's got anything to do with it.
Its interesting if you don't have this problem. What's ur software channel and build number? Thanks
Without this bug, you'll generally get better zoomed images on stock camera because it'll use 64mp crop instead of only 16mp recognized by GCam. But this bug ruins it.
Unzoomed though, GCam's HDR+ is still the best.
Just discovered this thread.
Yes, I have the same problem. But it looks like the effect is not the same everytime. Maybe depending on light (indoors vs. outdoors)?
I noticed it happens when i zoom in in worse scenes. It could be that the automatic camera mode is overcompensating by cranking the iso way too high. Have you tried using the pro camera mode?

Yes, but I don't think pro mode uses 64mp crop like auto mode, just a crop of 16mp, which doesn't have much detail that's required during zoom. Also it's annoying trying to switch to pro mode everytime.
