Cache problem stock browser and Adobe Flash - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Whenever I surf the interweb with the stock browser on my TF101, I always get freezes of Adobe Flash after a while.
After some investigation it seems that Adobe Flash (version 11.1.115.12) is not using any cache. When I check the cache in Settings/Apps it always says 00.0B
Also the stock browser's cache gets stuck when it reaches 27.59MB. It never gets higher.
Has anyone else had this problem and/or knows how to fix it? And could this be the problem of some Flash movies that freeze or stutter.
I already did a couple full resets/wipes (like you would do after a firmware update) and factory resets.

Depending on what android version you are! If your on android 4.0 you don't need flash and for honeycomb i would advise to change settings from flash to always ask

Flash not working in browser

Hi all,
Just came to browsing some pages that have embedded flash but the pages didn't load the flash content, I just got the pages default "You need flash player to see this blah blah". Thought it might be a limitation of the built in browser but both versions of Opera do it and also Dolphin HD.
I clicked on the link on the page to get flash which took me to the market, where I couldn't do anything because latest Flash was installed.
Anyone else had this?
Its a flash player problem, not really related to phone or ROM. Downgrade it so you have flash working again, until they update and fix the issue.
Sorry, downgrade flash or the ROM?
Thanks

Flash. Go to menu/applications/manage applications , find flash player, click it, then click uninstall updates (or something like that my rom is in greek). then make sure you open market, go to your installed apps and untick the autoupdate option on flash player.

[Q] Flash upgrade issue

So I rooted and got market worrking. With this I noticed that I could upgrade software in place from the android market. Very nice. However I upgraded to flash 11.x and now youtube videos have no video, only audio. Anyone else seen this? Recommendations on how to revert flash back?

A factory reset is probably the easiest way to restore flash.
found an even better solution in another thread. go to settings->applications and choose flash. you can remove the flash update from there.
Does the flash upgrade fix flash in Firefox? Right now it doesn't realize that flash is installed and it won't/can't display that content. With the stock amazon flash library, that is.

They have stopped flash on mobile phones I think who ever had flash player installed before adobe made the announcement that they are discontinuing flash player are still able to use it because now they are focusing on.HTML5.

That doesn't sound right. I know they stopped, but I think that just meant they aren't developing for future versions of Android. They still support the existing version of flash and even still provide updates to security.
I will uninstall and try to reinstall to see if I have a problem as well.

It should still work. They aren't discontinuing the flash player. They just stopped development on it... which means it reached a point where it's stable.
They ARE moving toward HTML5, but they aren't just tossing the towel at flash. It'll be around, even in ICS. They said they would still work on compatibility and support, but they just won't be developing new features for it.
If it says it isn't compatible, then that is a market issue I would assume. Try clearing your market cache from Settings>Applications.
If you've having that particular error, you need to uninstall any version of flash that you have currently installed (even if it is preloaded). Then, reboot your phone, and try the market again and it should work.
Oh I don't know because this is not the only person that's having the same issues that's why I seen alot of people tell me that they are having issues with flash player. I haven't had a problem with my flash player yet mine still works n very stable.

It is a protected app. That means if your rom fingerprint has not been approved by Google (i.e., official rom by carrier or manufacturer that is a member of the Open Handset Alliance) you cannot download it from the Android Market (will show as not compatible with your device). This is an issue with many apps if in the Dev Console on the Market they have checked the "Protected App" box. Change the rom description and fingerprint in the build.prop to the ones in the build.prop of the latest official rom for your device. If a G2X change these two lines and then you can download flash and install it.
Code:
ro.build.description=lge_star-user 2.3.3 GRI40 41fdc8a2 release-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=lge/lge_lge_star/p999:2.3.3/GRI40/lgp999-V21e.41fdc8a2:user/release-keys
Flash 11.1
I've downloaded Flash version 11.1.102.59 and it shows up in my Application information. But every time I've needed flash it says I need to download Flash and when I try it states the same as the OP "Device not Compatible" I haven't figured out how to fix the problem either. Any help will be greatly appreciated I assure you. Thanks,

If you're having this problem then you need to remove the preloaded flash player. The file for the preloaded Flash is /system/app/LibFlashPlayer.apk ... you can remove it manually or use titanium backup or similar to remove it. Then reboot and you should be able to install flash from the market.
EDIT:... somehow I feel like I'm repeating myself.

[Q] Flash Player 11 problems on 4.0 ICS powered tablet

Ok I have a android 4.0 ics powered tablet ... its a Coby Kyros MID9742-8 tablet.... and I can't get flash to work. I've downloaded flash 11 from various site but it doesn't work. It installs, but when I'm on the desktop version of sites that have flash supported stuff, all I see is a little blue box with a question mark in it. I can't access the google market directly, so I downloaded the flash apk to my htc amaze from google play and tranferred it to my device like I do with all my apps but to no prevail. Also I have download flash from various sites and it still gives me the same problem... I know its only a coby tablet, but I'm running stock ics 4.0 so I know its capable of running flash. I've read there is flash support for ICS so I don't understand why I'm having problems. Any ideas... please... and some direct apk links to what may have worked for u would be great. Thanks
Have you enabled plugins in the browser settings?
Yes plugins enabled is set to "always on"....

It was worth asking. How about different browsers? It could just be the stock browser that's at fault.
I use the stock browser and have no problems with Flash, but it's on different a different device (SGS2). It doesn't work in Chrome however, so it may be worth trying a couple of different ones.
Ok I got it working.... I downloaded a more updated flash apk from 1mobile.com....
same problem
I Have a Coby MID8042 tablet that also has 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich I have tried and tried to install flash and keep getting the same problems. All I get is the little blue lego with the question mark in it.
I have downloaded the latest version from 1mobile even, still same problem. Mine browser is also set to always allow plug ins, what else can I do? What is a good alternative browser for me to try for someone who is not that computer savvy?
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Who are all these tablet manufacturers shipping out tablets with ICS, but without Adobe Flash support or Android Market / Google Play pre-installed?
What were they thinking?

[Q] Q:adobe flash not working on N5

Do basically I've side loaded flash and I've installed many different versions of flash but it still won't work
The web browsers I've use haven't recognised that I have flash on the device
I've used firefox, flashfox, lightening broswer, maxathon, and xscope
Also boat browser always crashes as soon as I open it so I haven't been able to try it on that
So has anyone else got adobe flash working on the Nexus 5 and if so, how?
Or does flash not work on android 4.4 at the moment?

Flash isn't supposed to run on android anymore, and soon on every computer os, as it will be abandoned.
Using latest available apk in Adobe archives flash was running on stock browser at least, but perhaps Google decided finally to end the game.
If confirmed it will probably need a dirty dev hack to run again. I don't care about flash, but many many sites don't use html5 yet and need flash (Mega for example).
UC WEB
You may try UC WEB browser on Google play. Definately it supports flash in 4.3 version. And I have no idea if it will work on 4.4 as well.
