Hope this is in the right place
I have just rooted my magic with the latest cyanogen ROM. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be for a first timer. I think the problem was that there are so many guides out there and trying to find one that works for you was the difficult part (I had to to use relentless guide to revert my phone to Cupcake but then another guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=579328) to flash the ROM)
Now my phone is rooted can it still be 'bricked'?
Why do you do a flash first - what does this do?
Does multi touch only work with the browser?
I partitioned my SD card - are all my apps now installed to there by default? Is there a way to check?
Can I stop the home screen auto rotating (I still want other things on the phone to auto rotate)
Can I disable the work email or set it to only download when I am on WiFi?
When I select a ringtone for my alarm it now displays all the default tones that come with the audio.zip but I only want it to pickup my music like it does when I select the music app. I guess this is to do with my folder structure?
Would you recommend that I try and flash CursorSense as I have heard it is the best but am worried I may struggle - maybe I was just having an off day when I rooted my phone

Oh and thanks for this fourm - my phone runs so much better already and I have only tried one ROM - I have only noticed a delay when navigating through the contacts.

heres the deal. i rooted my defy with superoneclick, it worked great.
heres the problem and what i think is the cause but i need a solution!
PROBLEM: i switch my phone on, it starts normally
motoblur screen
then
T mobile screen
then
the normal swipe unlock
i ulnlock it fine but as soon as i do the wallpaper dissapears/goes black. i cannot access any apps. none of the buttons work (menu,home,return/back,search) but the info bar/ menur bar thing at the top that swipes down works fine and what ever is in it works fine i.e when i plug into usb im able to choose portal and tools and those other 3. but when i just leave my phone on lock then press power button/activate unlock screen. it will show normal background with time and everything looks normal.
the CAUSE ( i think )
i was installing apps and deleting motoblur stuff. but it it was one of those two, i isntalled an app and i deleted a file at the same sort of time. the app installed was some startup app killer or a firewall of some type. or it could have been that i deleted an apk file that had a real short name i think, like blur.apk
PLEASE HELP ME. I need a solution FAST its my first smartphone ever and i paid alot for it. if you need my phone info it was
moto defy android 2.1 uk version but then rooted with super one click

I am trying to fiigure out the best and safest way to get cyanogen 7 onto my me525, and I am not interezted in warranty as I already have water damage, but i dont want to kill led and i need to have fully functional gapps in China...

cm7 works on me525 and your flash light wont get bricked
gapps are also there you must install them seperate..
i tought that chines roms bricks mb525 led flashlight?
And I doubt this thread is necessary when one on CM7 exist ?! And the CAPS text is TOO MUCH !
I searched the other thread and couldnt find it. I went ahead and did the nordic , then c7 and baseband switcher, and everything seems ok... the screen powers off in a scary way that looks as if its nto good for the phone....it sucks missing the voice input keyboard and the call recorder . Mainly the voice input keyboard.

for the screen power off animation... u can disable this by going into settings--> launcher setting---> screen animation disable..
easy peasy..
Its just an animation..

Firstly, sorry for my english which can be bad.
I bought a iocean x7 youth Turbo (MT6589T) on antelife
I got ghosts on screen when i went on play store but this bug is resolved by the spanish fix FTS_upgrade
BUT I have two bugs which are impossible to resolve for me
- bottom left of the screen, there is always a "ghost click" which opeen the phone app for example, and this in all applications
- When i'm in any application, after 5 - 10 sec without touch the screen, the phone freeze and the screen doesn't repond (touche keys either) and I can do nothing, I have to lock and unlock the phone, and after it works correctly
Any body have these bugs ? Any solution please ?

This spanish fix, just made the problem worse! Is there a way to I undo it? I mean just unistall the FTS app doesn't undo the things right?
Before the spanish fix, the ghost touches was only in the Play Store, and rarely when "hold home button" but now... every touch, it makes tons of ghost touches. How do I know that? I activate "show touches" and "pointer location" (I don't know if I wrote correct, I am not english, but I hope beeing understandable)
Edit: after 2 hours trying to undo this "spanish fix", I already has unistalled the FTS app, but the triplicated ghost touches continued. I has installed (with much dificulty, because the ghost touches, letter by letter hauehuaehu) the Rom Manager to try to instal a custom rom... and after those 2 hours I close the Rom Manager, because it has been asking for a "Custom Recovery" and I will search for that... tcharam... those ghost touches stopped!
I don't know, if my phone needed to take some time to the SPANISH FIX has effect... but I Take Back What I Said! It seems it worked, take a while, things seems to get worse, but worked.
And I tell more, now I don't need to slide all the horizontal screen to go to another "screen", It seems to improved the "touch sense", now a slide about a width of an icon is enough!
I am very happy now! hahahuaehueahuaeu

Its in spanish, I don't have a problem with spanish, but if you prefer use google translator, this tutorial is very easy, just follow the instructions and the print screens.
Please check this link, its the Spanish Fix that the user who created this post was talking about.
But as I said, first it seems that my cellphone get worse, after some time and after I haved installed the Rom Manager.... Read careful my post, in the end it worked! Its been 5 days now, and it really worked for me, my cellphone is so smooth now, no ghost touches at all!
(And please, go to "about phone" > "click 3 times fast in Android Version" > and Check the "Show touches" and "Pointer location"
To see the touches, and be sure them stopped!) Sorry about my english too

Ok so i have now idea what happand in the last time ..
my nex 5 woeked fine but suddenly someday it had some problems.
1. when im sending some masseges on whatsapp it doesnt send it.
2. "OK GOOGLE" doesnt work even though i rebooted the phone couple of times.
3. a few minutes ago i tried to remove my widgets and put them back again but when i presed long on the screen the bar of the "wallpapers , widgent and settings doesnt show up..
and i had some more issues but i can remember now , when it will happan ill tell
what can cause that ? please help :[
ill be thankful if someone could help me with it.

1. There could be a myriad of reasons for this. However, you say "some" messages don't send which means its likely a problem with the recipient you are trying to send to. Perhaps they don't have connectivity?
2. Language needs to be set as US English in Settings.
3. Make sure you are not using a third party launcher like Nova. You may have accidentally installed it as part of your restore. What happens when you long press on the homescreen?

1. might be but i think its an issue because when i tried to send one massege it didnt work but when i sent another one it worked. haha wired.
2. thak you very much it did work , i accidently put the UK as default lang and not the US.
3.i had nova laucher but i deleted it. it happand on the stock rom and stock launcher.. its fine now because i rebooted the phone but its still wired..
BTW : i saw that someone here open a thread and he said there that the "Despicable me" game isnt work for him and he has some lags so i downloaded this game too and the game had a little bit low frame prob. i should worry about that ?

Hmm.. a game like Despicable Me should run fine on N5. If you are experiencing any lag, then I recommend you install franco kernel

all the other gamse works fine except this one , im not playing that much in this game so its fine but ill consider to install that kernel. thanks alot [:
