Denieing everything... I can't even access 4ext recovery app
Check your settings on su, it must be pre set to deny instead of accept? Does it even ask permission anymore? That's all I can think of. Perhaps it accidentally got set to deny. Did you check to see if their is something in the settings that caused this? Hope this helps some that must be very frustrating!

Hello,
I'm returning my G2X to tmo due to many problems I'm having.
All I had done was root it using superoneclick and froze some apps.
So today I unfroze the apps and used superoneclick to unroot.
How do I check and make sure that the tmobile guys isn't going to do some boot sequence to see if it's rooted.
Thanks
Download Terminal Emulator and type su into it.
If it returns with a #, you still have root.

Would it be the same if you just looked for the SU app in the app drawer?
OK, typing su returned an error about uuid, and superuser is not in the apps list.
Cheers

maybe putting this in the RIGHT section would help....
but just unroot with the oneclick root tool....then run tibu or root explorer or a app than needs su permissions

Don't worry they wont even check. Superuser app is about as far as they would go.

Hey guys sorry for this noob question. So i rooted my s3 and have superuser. My friend has S3 with att and he has super su instead of superuser. I was just wondering why is that.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Superuser is written by ChainsDD and superSU is by chainfire. 2 different apps (& binaries?) that do the same thing (manage superuser access for you).

Yes. Download SuperSU then open it and let it update binaries + give it normal superuser permission first.
Then go to your downloaded applications and unistall any updates to Superuser. Finally, get Titanium Backup and then Uninstall Superuser.
Oh yeah and Reboot afterwards
Can someone plz xplain this I can reboot into recovery & dwnld roms but wen I ran a root chk app it says I'm not rooted wats going on can someone plz xplain

Is there either a superuser or super su app installed? There should be. Try going into whichever one you have and update binary, then rerun root checker and make sure you allow access when it asks for it

You only need one or the other, not both. Stick with whichever one came with the Rom. Go to the app and under settings choose update binary. If it asks for permission, grant it.
Delete whichever one you're not using.
And all custom ROMs on here are rooted

I've noticed with superuser I've sometimes needed to run the update a few times before it'll work.
If this has been a problem since you first flashed the ROM, I'd recommend doing a complete wipe of everything and reflashing the ROM

Open your superuser app/ super su and allow it from there.
How do I get the option to allow it, it won't let me change nor add a program?

Try fixing permissions in your custom recovery (CWM or BootMenu, whichever you have installed)...

Whenever I go into titanium backup it says sorry could not acquire root privileges. All I've done is unlocked the bootloader and installed cwm, superuser and busy box. Also I'm on stock Rom and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that hasn't worked.
