Many functions does not work on rom 2.7.13 - HTC Desire S

Hello,
I have just flashed the new upgraded rom 2.7.13 in to my HTC Desire S. I have flashed it as per the direction given. The following problem persists:
The soft keys does not have the lights so in dark you cannot operate the phone correctly.
When I press updater the response I get is "application unexpectedly stoped".
The above two problems are also there in previous versions as well which includes 2.7.6.
Can anyone advise me whether I am doing any wrong while flashing the rom or it is the bug of the rom????
Would appreciate any help in this regards.
Many thanks.

And.... what from did you flashed

It's obviously MIUI - and he also posted in the MIUI thread.
Why people can't post questions in the "Q&A" forum I have no idea - hopefully this thread will be closed or moved.

Well, the best option is.... change rom :3

Stock 4.0.3 ! But I would flash to another rom if necessary ...(^3^)

Share with us man! How can you do that on stock rom? Allways wanted it !

You need a custom rom for that.
For instance cm9: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399035
Ahh, that is most likely cm9 in the image since its above the notifications. Though extended controls does very nearly the exact same thing, and works on stock.

[ROM] RD-MIUI 2.1.6[EN] (quietly MIUI) 7/1/12

I take no credit for this! Just posting here in the Inspire section so more people can enjoy it.
I found this after some re-re posted it claiming it was ICS. It's not, it's 2.3.7 however... This is BY FAR the smoothest, most complete MIUI I've ever used.
I'm running with LordMod 8.2 BFS kernel and have had 0 issues.
I attached InspireMod so nothing's labeled Desire.

i'll have to try it out, thanks? (For re-posting?)
I guess I'm confused by the different flavors of MIUI.... RD-MIUI... the differences between them, etc... it's an awesome environment, no question... but I've played with a lot of different variations and haven't found that "sweet spot" yet..
People add and/or remove their own stuff, theme, etc. This one so far has been the smoothest aand fastest. No force close, no little quirks. I'm happy with it. I always found a reason to quit miui quick but haven't yet with this.

How can I install?
Im very doubt, what is te rom the zip labeled "lordmod" or "Inspiremod" and i dont know how install the patch?
Lordmod is the kernel with inspiremod being the patch for branding (vice dhd).

Install rom through cwm then install kernel same way. Then boot.

Hi,
A kernel is like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Place the kernel on the root of your sd card,
Make a nandroid backup,
Wipe your cache and dalvik,
Flash kernel like a ROM.
You should do Lil research dude use the search key it is the heart if Android there is a lot if info out there but it depends in your room and if you want to overclock

I'm also not entirely clear on this neither despite looking arnd the noob section.
But do I have to flash the kernel seperately from the custom Rom? Does it not have it included in the Rom package?

Hi,
A custom ROM will have a kernel included.
This can be changed anytime after you have installed the ROM.

Thanks for the stats. Some of the tweaks take a while to settle and you should see a general performance increase over the next day or two
Edit: one important thing to check is that your from supports init.d scripts. A check for this will eventually be added

Please make CM9 Notification-Drawer like this

Everybody, please take a look on a Notification Drawer (Android 4.0.4):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
That image is taken from Arc S ROM Pureness (Android 4.0.4):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788701 (screenshots on page 2)
The notification-drawer with big digital clock and small date, similiar to CM10, it's awesome. Unfortunately, CM10 is not stable (i.e Bluetooth). So...
ARE THERE ANY CM9 MOD TO CHANGE NOTIFICATION-DRAWER LIKE THAT? Please...
Moved to General forum. Please only post ROMs, mods, and other development related work in the Dev forum.
Thank you,

Only added bug in CM10 is having to reboot the phone to activate Bluetooth.
Nothing else.
So just upgrade and save yourself the hassle.

CM9 is now better and more stable, I don't want to reboot my phone everytime want to use bluetooth. CM10 have some other bugs while CM9 goes with Alpha 12, fix many things for daily using.
There is a thread in themes&apps that will help you
